It proved to be one-way-traffic in Canberra as the Brumbies had way too much quality for the Sunwolves to handle. Combining a dominant forward effort with slick backline play, the home side would always prove tough to get close too.

On the day the Japanese did not have the answers to keep with the explosive play of their hosts as the home fans were in for a treat with ten tries accruing to their team as they slaughtered the Sunwolves 66-5.
