The EU is reportedly in the process of lifting many of the de-risking sanctions against China. So China have already benefited from the global trade war.

Good luck with that.
America choose to go at it alone.
This America first stuff is just disguisting the rest of the world. MAGA!
Disgusting that after 80 years of over spending to defend Europe and provide it economic access, America is now redefining its interests? Europe is reacting like the kid which is finally being told they have had enough candy.
American exceptionalism is a nauseating concept, looking after your own interests is every country’s prerogative.
In the meantime Porsches are piling up in European car storage. The talk has been very brave….the walk may be a bit more rocky.
Well, good luck forcing Greenland to become part of America, in order to give Big Tech its rare earth materials.
If only the world would accept America's exceptionalism, which even means not trading with Canada just so your leader can screw them.
We’ll buy those rare earths at market price and mark them up 4x in the service before we sell them to you techless dopes in Europe.
All you had is Mercedes and then the fools running your countries made electric cars the future and killed the German machine shop and then for good measure Merkel killed the nuclear plants.
And you nutters think Trump is dumb.
From China? They do the processing, not just the mining, of nearly all rare earths. They have a monopoly on processing.
We shall just buy directly from them and skip out the American marketing companies.
Most mobile phones are made in China, so we could just purchase Tech directly from China as well.
A company like Tesla is not telling the Chinese what to do. Instead, it is China that is leading the way, building pieces of the car for Tesla to assemble and brand as made in America.

Where did you hear that, got a link?
Stav,
It is a bit woolly, but there are ongoing negotiations to improve trade relations.
It soured during the Biden era, when the EU was influenced to stop using Chinese Tech.
China can't be a serious member of the WTO if they can't respect intellectual property, patents, etc...good luck with dealing with rackateers.
And Id rather drive a Viper or a Corvette than a Porsche, that's for the ladies...

I see America have lined up some good deals with Russia. They also plan to drop sanctions against Russia.
Seems like the other way round, China is lifting sanctions they imposed on EU law makers.

Well you could argue neither is the US at this point, the tariff's in Trump's first term were against WTO rules as are his more recent tariffs.
Why is Trump's tariffs against the rules? What about the tariffs on American goods across the globe?
Exactly. Here’s the underlying dynamic. Imports are 10%of US purchases. So if you put a 10% tariff on imports prices go up 1%. But much less than that because there is a markup in the US so maybe 0.6%.
Scary the media say, forgetting prices went up 20% under Biden and the base tariff will raise prices a 30th of that. Not saying it’s all been well deployed but some of the stuff in the media needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
Deliberate hysteria in the media...must resist anything Trump at all cost...haters will hate even if he walks on water...
Tariffs are fine, as long as both countries accept that they apply to imports and exports.
Also, that services can also be tariffed.
Trump wants an import tax, but no export tax. That is where the problems are.
The global stock markets see this as a problem, and the IMF has said that America will be the hardest hit by tariffs.
Er no, you're wrong...America was tariffed and taxed long before Trump reciprocated.
Can you provide sources for this?
I am talking about average tariffs across all industries (not just isolated instances of a single industry).
Any economist knows that Trump just made up his tariff numbers by switching them with trade deficits.
Mobile phone prices would increase by 140% in the US, as most of these are made in China.
Lots of tech is manufactured in China.
Trump financial person even recently said that Tesla is not a car manufacturer, but an assembler that imports parts from China. China are no longer just being told what to do, they are the ones saying what is possible as time goes on.
BYD have now surpassed Tesla, and they recently announced a car battery that charges in under 5 minutes. I dont know much about EV cars, but apparently the battery makes up something like 50% of the cost of the car, and the rest oft the car is built around the battery.
I own a Tesla Plaid….1000 horse power, brilliant software, no maintenance, easy recharging of the battery ….you get a prompt to precondition the battery and with that it gains 50% of charge in about 15 minutes.
These cars are best used as town and local cars…CT to Hermanus and back is easy. You never need to go to a service station for gas…there is no annual service. I leave one down in Florida. After a while you tend to default to the Tesla vs your other cars…it’s so convenient. Brilliant nav, great camera, life saving driving aids.
And the power is insane…,take the fastest Porsche Turbo, it disappears in your rear view mirror. No noise, no fuss, just effortless speed.
Apparently in 2026 all Apple phones for the US market will be made in India.
Some say they are just being assembled within India, rather than being manufactured - which will still be done in China.
Not exactly brining jobs back to the US market by leaving China...
If a company bases their manufacturing in another country, of course their IP is going to be taken.
The best engineers will leave, and start their own companies, and become competitors.
The tech industry can hardely complain about taking IP because they all do it. Microsoft has been a master of copying other companies tech, and then making it part of the WIndows platform.
The web was invented in Europe, but America "stole" the idea - then refined and improved it. Not much different to what China do.
China allows straight pirate coppies...huge difference.
Did you Batshit brainers know that President Zi phoned Trump to ask for negotiations fo a trade deal betwren China and the USA and further meetings are being arranged,
The other thing that you also do not know is that both Trump and Rubio cnormed progress wih the Ukraine Peace deal. What is clear most NATO leaders will be in Rome for Pope Francis' funeral. Trump will probably report to the leaders progress with the talks. Zelenskyy will also be there for what purposes nobody knows: He himself is supposed to be a Jew and 80% of the Ukraineans are Orthdox church membes - not always in top league with the Roman Caholics, The last time Pope Francis called for peace in Ukraine - Zelenskyy insulted him and that did not fo down well with the Catholics at all/ He will probably get a seat aamongst the cleaning staff of the Sistine Chapel,
But since you know so much about secret negotiations plese keep informing us about what shit you will come up next to amuse us.

The internet was “invented” in the United States, primarily through research funded by the U.S. Department of Defense. The foundational project was ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), developed in the late 1960s by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).
Key milestones include:
So while many international contributors helped build today’s global network, the origin of the internet as we know it today is rooted in American defense and academic research.
Would you like a brief timeline or diagram of the key moments?
The internet is not the web. (www.).

The web is what made the internet popular. It gave it a user interface, and caused worldwide adoption.
If we go far back enough, we should be giving credit for who invented electricity or the wheel.

Mind you I hve noed hat I used to get from Wikipedia has deeriroated rapidly over he last four years r so. I will gove you an example about two years ago I quoted from Wikipedia what a senior advisor of Zelenskyy said about wiiping Russian language and culture from Ukraiine through ethnic cleansing. When I looked fo that info - it as eliminated and also changed into one big nothing fopr the ebnefit of the ultra-left.
There is a difference between informaion and disinformation and Goebbels found that out under the Hitler regime and that is n in full use bby the emdia and in this particularr case iro Wikipedia, .
More drivel by DumbMike. Wikipedia is a useful resource, nothing amazing though.

What an incompetent fool. If someone were in charge of a publicly traded company, they would have been fired for this type of incompetence.
Liz Truss was fired from being prime minister when her disastrous mini-budget had less impact than the Trump tariffs.
