In all Government service there were a weird situation in 2023-24 the Biden Administration increased the number of Public Servants from 1 964 000 to 3 250 000. In the main the idea was advertised that it ws "prob ationers" that was appointed. I normal Publi Services worldwide probationers are appointed to ensure they are trained in doing the work by supevisors and fellow staff members and if the do not meet equirements their services are terminated and now prbationary appointees are made, There were a major differece in that case. The probationers never went to their offices and never did any work - but what was sure was that heir salares were paid every month,

What was very ea is maladministration, mismagement and bribery and corruption was rife. When auditors cannot find proof and evidence on what more than $1 trillion was spent then thre is a very real problem. In San Diego the seeae treatment plant was inadeqsate and now the beaches serving the cty was flooded by raw sewerage and a major dangerous situation resulted, Trump promised to provide funding for the upgarding fthe ssytem - but hading the enecessary money ver to a corrupt California Government is not going to work out, The money would not be spent for teh services to be upgarded,

The situation is so bad that in an opinion poll the voters n stated that if an elecio for Governor is now held 48% of teh Caliornia preer a Republican candidate and 45% supporting a Dmocrat candidate, If the candidate for the Governorship is either Harris or Schiff the voter support drops to 40%. .

If strict financial management is not applied the USA debt icreases would reach $52 trillion by 2030 - ie double the amount of the GDP and that would inevitably elad to a totalc ollapse of the US dollar and in essense the US Public Service, Where world trade are based on dollars it would also lead to the whole financial system at present used in international trade will also collapse,

For me, he was managing to engineer a soft landing, against the odds.

I've been paying close attention and have tuned in every time he's spoken. And often watched analysis afterwards. Honestly, I've struggled to fault him.

To bring about a soft landing after those inflation numbers was never going to be easy and there would always be a risk of it feeling, and at times looking, like stagflation, but I felt he was doing okay.

Of course I would have much preferred a mega crash and then a climb from there but that was a purely selfish want, since many people still reeling from Covid would not have survived.

If I were to sum up Powell's performance I'd say that he gave us what we needed rather than what we wanted.
