USA/UK trade deal

The UK is the 6th largest economy and the 4th largest trading partner. The deal gives the US better access while protecting UK jobs.

The UK has nationalized steel and aligned with the US steel policy and aligned on product flows, Rolls Royce engines come over tariff free, but the UK buys more Boeing aircraft.

As a one off this looks like the deal that should have been forged after Brexit. Undoubtedly a good thing for the UK. Whether it can be broadly duplicated remains to be seen. But a promising start.

Zelensky should take notes on public relations, the UK team has given Trump much of the credit.

May 08, 2025, 17:18

From what I have seen this is not a very good deal.

Apparently it is the first phase of a later deal, so hardely a big beautiful deal.

Also, Trump can change any deal at the flick of a switch.

I would rather have stuck with the EU trade agreement with the US, even if it means no deal.or a tariff war.

It looks like a win for US billionaires, much ado about nothing for the rest.

‘More substance than people were expecting’ …says CNBC as the market trends up.

Trade Agreements are approved by Congress so the following is tyical SB batshit from a malfunction brain:-'

Also, Trump can change any deal at the flick of a switch.

Congress can approve cancellaion of the trade if patners do not abide by the deal.

May 08, 2025, 18:31

Blob and the Hysteria were so worried about world trade I hope this will provide some comfort….no doubt they will be on here soon celebrating the collegial tone of the presser.

May 08, 2025, 20:01

Trump and the Big Tech Oligarchs want the EU to break up. It is probably the only reason the UK got a deal. Although this so-called deal is worse than what was in place before 2025.

UK needs to rejoin the EU. We need to become self-sufficient and just trade less with the US. The global trade order is dead, it is the rise of power blocks now.

May 08, 2025, 20:16

Rejoin the EU….be run by the little men in suits in Brussels, be tied to the decline of Mercedes, BMW and VW as Europe is taken by Chinese EVs?

You can’t be serious

May 08, 2025, 20:24

The EU needs to take a leaf out of China's book. Just block the American data products, which forces them to build their own. (e.g. TikTok).

Facebook: It is not difficult to build this website. Its key factor is a high number of users, making it easy to locate past friends. If this website were blocked, an EU equivalent will pop up overnight.

Twitter/X: We don't need their manipulation of the algorithm. Ditto, block them.

Amazon: Over 70% of the products are from China. They have the largest product database, which allows them to rank products that are related based on the number of sales. The offline infrastructure for delivery is already based here.

Google: A company that delivers search results based on being the only company that can track users across websites from a search query. Without this data, their search engine is no better than the others. An equivalent and more privacy-centric way of ranking websites organically can be done in the EU.

Tesla: Not really a data product, more of a marketing company that assembles cars from parts manufactured in China. It is no longer the Chinese being given a spec, the Chinese create the spec now. Our cars are now EVS, and BYD is better than Tesla, with many competitors from China providing better value. Although the way things are going for Tesla, they might already be toast before Brussels acts.

May 08, 2025, 20:31

No we do not need to rejoin the EU !!!

May 08, 2025, 20:35

Starmer and Trump are the very definition of the odd couple. Ideologically opposed but on surprisingly good terms.

No we do not need to rejoin the EU !!!

Oh yes you do.

May 08, 2025, 20:40

Starmer is a wanker.

May 08, 2025, 20:48

Lots of moaning and groaning….nothing here to be upset about. It’s a first step, it doesn’t guarantee anything. But the trade negotiators talking on CNBC are much more animated than they were 3 weeks ago. I take that to mean other talks are progressing.

Trump may yet bury his critics in egg….and the little men in suits may have to force a smile.

May 08, 2025, 20:58

@Becs, the Britain of old is gone. There is no going back. The UK has less than 70 million people, and it does not have colonies or control of the Commonwealth anymore.

The average IQ in the East is as high, if not higher in some cases. Countries around the world have improved, so the UK has less of a lead than ever before.

The UK is geographically bound to the EU. The EU just needs to sort out its immigration problems from the likes of the Middle East, and the politics is controlled by the country. The economic deal is the most important thing.

May 08, 2025, 21:06

The EU is a bigger basket case than we are.

May 08, 2025, 21:12

Absolutely and Switzerland is much more geographically bound to Europe….happily living on their own.

D1Donnie is a Desparado, the now best forgotten Day1 promises has been superseded by the best forgotten Day100 of nothing to boast. He is noted for tanking world stock markets while his D1 promises are swept under a carpet.

He bungled Russia/Ukraine negotiations long before it started and put nails in its coffin by berating Zelensky in front of a worldwide audience. What manner of man would boast "I get on well with Putin"........be honest now, who would boast getting on well with a cold blooded murdering dictator whose ideology is diametrically opposed to western freedoms? Who the Hell would want to get on with a cold blooded murderer who's wiped out any smidgen of opposition to his rule?

Added to that his Tariff policies has blown up in his face with the USA possibly facing stagflation....of course it will be Biden's fault.

So there, his golden trifecta of achievements....

1) Butchering world stock markets

2) Back peddling on Tariffs

3) Bungling Russia/ Ukraine negotiations

If anyone believes he's put the world on a rocky ride let me warn you that you ain't seen nothing yet from the born again Loser.

So now his one and only claim to prosperity for the ordinary American is a deal with the synthetically powered economy of the UK. It's the best the fool can boast of his 100 days.

And just before you MAGA fools start blaming Biden and doing cartwheels.....here some notable comments from some notable people.....

During the presser, Sky News' James Matthews was highly skeptical about the deal — telling Trump, "I'd like to ask, why Britain, and why now?.... Clearly, there's much more work still to do. With respect, are you overstating the reach and significance of this deal because you're a president who needs a result at a difficult time?"

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

After the press conference came at a time, MSNBC got a reaction from Democratic attorney Gene Sperling — who served as director of the National Economic Council (NEC) under Democratic Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and was White House coordinator for the American Rescue Plan under President Joe Biden.

Sperling slammed the U.K. deal as a "very marginal trade agreement" that underscores the "incoherence of the Trump trade policy," telling MSNBC's Ana Cabrera, "You had an economy that was a consensus soft landing….. Now, you have consensus fears of a recession and stagflation."

CPCG founder Karen Hinks tweeted, "We need to see this 'deal' for the performative theatre for what it is. Which is nothing. Trump needed a win. He needed a way out for the destruction his fool-hardy tariffs are causing this country. Pathetic."

Raven Capital investment manager Nelson Rangel argued, "UK temporary deal is all a show to get people to prop up the market for presidential approval ratings, to give (Treasury Secretary Scott) Bessent a bigger cushion ahead to China meeting on Saturday and for insiders to sell stocks at a better prices... *TRUMP: BETTER GO OUT AND BUY STOCKS NOW."

Canada-based X user David Blakely posted, "Sounds like a win for the UK and that Trump has caved in favour of UK workers. Trump needed a distraction today and there was no trade imbalance with the UK. No surprise the way Trump and the fawning Lutnick are positioning this. Trade still moving away from US, and quickly."

Paris-based professor Matthew Fraser, a former journalist, commented, "Sounds half-baked. They are still negotiating but Trump wanted a big 'win' to announce, so they staged this press conference."

Attorney Joe Gallina's Call to Activism tweeted, "MASSIVE LET DOWN: Donald Trump admits his 'huge trade deal' with the UK is NOT finalized yet and instead is only a concept of a plan. This is extremely embarassing in light of the press hype. Art of the deal."

Trader Ben Calusinski @BCalusinski wrote, "Trump is really trying to push how 'Big' this deal with the UK is. The market does not care When the market has to price in a 'Big Deal' with a gap-up and then he doesn't follow through, we will see it sell I don't make the rules."

I do not know where you get all your shit from that you write on site- like the following:-

It is total BS. Trump is unlike you believe is more like Mao, Stalin and Hitler was combined as an ultra-dictator the world has ever seen, That alone is mega BS supreme from the leftist media free to operate in the USA, But the voters belief otherwise, because they were negatively effected by the Biden Administration and the mad conduct of the Democrats have now reach the stage that only ln acting like you and some idiots still support them - there support now 27% in opinion polls, You are not aware of what influenced the lives of people and let them to support Trump and the fact is those people do not want a dictatorship and will kick hm out if like Biden and Democrats he followed their efforts to use the FBI to become the USA Gestapo and like Mao oppressed viciously the people and censored the news.

But then also did you read that thread where I analysed the election results of he past week in the UK, The type of your ideas will not survive in the next election and Starmir knows he has to get Trump on his side to ensure the UK do not collapse in future,

Gemany has been in a recession for three yeats and virtually all countries are suffering under adverse conditions. The present German Governent is weak and is ruled by te Greens and their policies. The EU is divided and so is the countries internally. So what kind of Block would the EU be? Countries with dwindling financial resources - who cannot defend themselves and the youth in many countries is sick and tired of the BS aimed at destruction of culture and history in Europe.

There was no trade agreement between the USA and UK in the past and everything was a free for all - with both countries suffering as a result - so what trade conditions are worse than the were in the past?

I am genuibly worried about your mental health - You should go and see a shrink - they may yet be able to get some sense in what you think.

Perplexity Opines:

Did the UK Get a Bad Deal from the US?

Overview

Recent developments suggest that the UK’s trade and diplomatic dealings with the US-especially under Donald Trump’s administration-have been challenging, with many analysts and commentators arguing that the UK has not secured favorable terms and may, in fact, have received a "bad deal" relative to expectations and needs.

Trade Negotiations and Tariffs

  1. The US, under Trump, has imposed tariffs that affect UK exports, with little room for negotiation or exemptions. The UK's major export sectors, such as automotive and potentially pharmaceuticals, are specifically targeted, and the UK is not being offered special treatment or significant carve-outs. Any concessions the UK might win would likely come at a high price and with limited benefit in return1.
  2. The most recent trade agreement with the US is described by the Financial Times as "merely a less bad outcome" compared to the tariffs faced before Trump's return to office, rather than a genuinely advantageous deal for the UK2.

Strategic and Diplomatic Concerns

  1. There is concern that US-UK deals under Trump may require the UK to distance itself from the EU and China, potentially undermining long-term strategic interests and exposing the UK to the unpredictability of US policy3.
  2. The possibility of a US-Russia deal under Trump further complicates the UK's position. Such a move could undermine a decade of UK foreign policy aimed at isolating Russia and supporting Ukraine, forcing the UK to choose between aligning with US or European priorities, with significant long-term implications5.

Public and Expert Sentiment

  1. Commentators and the public express skepticism about the enforceability and reliability of any agreements made with the current US administration, citing a lack of trust and the risk of the US reneging on deals3.
  2. There is a perception that the UK is being forced into a weaker negotiating position, with less leverage and fewer options than before Brexit, making it harder to secure favorable terms either with the US or the EU126.

Summary Table: Key Issues in UK-US Dealings

IssueUK Position/OutcomeUS Position/Outcome
TariffsSubject to general and sectoral tariffs, little leverageMaintains tariffs for revenue and onshoring1
Trade Deal Quality"Less bad" than no deal, but not advantageous2No significant concessions
Strategic AlignmentPressured to distance from EU, risk to foreign policy35Focus on own interests
Trust and ReliabilityConcerns about US reneging on deals3Unpredictable approach

Conclusion

The consensus among analysts is that the UK has not secured a strong or favourable deal from the US in recent negotiations. Instead, the UK faces high tariffs, limited concessions, and strategic pressures that could undermine its broader interests. The deals on offer are seen as, at best, damage limitation rather than genuine wins for the UK1235

----------------

The only upside is this deal can be cancelled at anytime. So at least it does reduce tariffs while the US battles with other countries in the meantime. Trump wants to make sure the EU and China get a bad deal.

May 08, 2025, 23:21

The EU is a bigger basket case than we are.

It's not. It's the worlds most successful trading block.

Absolutely and Switzerland is much more geographically bound to Europe….happily living on their own.

Yet the majority of people in EU states are happy living in the EU and more European states want to join.

May 08, 2025, 23:57

Hysteria desperately trying to find negative things to say about the deal….Anger rushing to protect the little men in suits,

May 09, 2025, 01:29

The EU isn’t just about trade. Allying yourself to a bloc of total basket cases of countries is not something we should do. We’re in enough of a pickle ourselves, we don’t need to join in with more lunacy.

May 09, 2025, 01:41

Total basket cases?...you don't have any valid criticism's do you?

May 09, 2025, 01:44

Yes I do and I’m also entitled to my opinion given I’m the only English person here and it’s my country we’re all talking about.

May 09, 2025, 04:06

Trump may yet bury his critics in egg

He may but I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you, right now his representatives are dripping from the forehead as they head to China. Note, China is not sending representatives to the USA.....kinda puts things into perspective as to who rules. I hope he's not sending ex Fox News bimbos in short skirts. Just as a reminder sending a real estate developer to negotiate a Russia/Ukraine peace deal ended up as a disaster. Hariss wouldn't have done any worse.

But good luck anyway, thunk your bully or thug whichever one you prefer has run into a brick wall with China.

May 09, 2025, 10:17

May 09, 2025, 11:17

Denny

You are talking shit again because you for some dubious reason having nothing to do with facts hate Trump. The fact is that Xi phoned Trump and asked for negotiations to restore the trade deal the Trump administration negotiated with Xi in 2019 and 2020. The deal collapsed because Xi lied to Trump about the impact of the Covid virus from gain-of-function research done at the Wuhan Bio-lab that Trump to his horror found out was funded by the US Deparrtment of Health.

The situation is tht whatever the Obama and Biden administrations did was absed on ultra-leftist policies similar to what happened in teh Wuhan biolab and scrapping of woman sport and destroyibng the USA Education system. The system Trump inherited from Bien was absed on bribery and corruption and a complete example of maladministration causing the US Economy rush to bankruptsy, He took derastic actin to stop both maladministration and corruption and Biden knew watwas coing "pardoned" some of the worst culpris before he elft office, The ardoning dated from 1 December 2014 to 1 Desember 2024.

In essense that was when the most corrupt systems were in use.with politicians and bureaucrats gaining millions from corruption. The wars in which the USA was an example fo amxuimum coprrupt practices helped alonmg by the fact that the books of the Defense Department was not audited from 2003 to 2023. In 2023 the House Republicans refused to pass the Defense Force Budget - insisting that if audits are not introduced they would not approve the proposed budget, The audits ffor 2024 is nearing completion - but what the audit expsoed was a horror story that the Deparment could not account on what 26% of the Defense Force budget was spent. The money just vanished,

That raises the sisue of the War situations. The Wars in which the USA was invovled was centerpieces of Government corruption similar to what happened in the Vietnam War in the 1960's and 1970's. So when the US Army fled from Afghanistan in 2021 - leaving behind billions in weaponry that ended up all over the Middle East the need for another War feeding coruption was required by the crooks in Washington - so 7 months later the civil war in Eastern Ukraine developed into a full scale war - with US corruption being on a massive level, The system was the reason why in audits prive o payment and for what services was paid vanished, It destroyed both the moral and the strength of the US Army.

Xi, Putin and the EU leadership knw that if Trump says anything it will happen and that made them dependent on Trump's goodwill - he will do nothing to undermine the USA like Biden and Obama did. He appointed financial and management experts to run the USA - not the ideological shit Biden appointed as cabinet members,

Last week you write that the USA ecnomy is collapsing because of Trump - this week the evidence is cmpletely different, There si a real increase in private sector employment figures of 177 000 eople - while Trump fired hundreds of thousands of public serants wh since 2021 never even bothered to go t their offices and did effectively no work - but got paid their monthly salaries, while the wrk were contracted out corruptly to private institutions. ne specific examples is the USA IRS that had 86 000 staff memebrs doing nothing - because the wrk was conracted out, but Biden in 2023 and 2024 appointed 86 000 additional staff that like 94% of the Bureaucrats never went to their offices, buf for some stupid reason was to be armed. Nice work - stay at hom - do nothing and get paid a monthly salary. Trump summoned them to their offices and despatched them to the Southern Border to assist in closing the Border and stopping influx of illegals and drugs into the country.

The Dow Jones Index showed a major rise in October 2024 because of the imminent election of Trump as President and basedon media shit showed a decline - but is back at what its level was on election day - while you believe the media shit totally.

Trump is putting pressure on Putin to co-operste in finding a solution to end the Ukraine War and the fact is Putin will end up playing ball and accept the US conditions and the corrupt Zelenskyy - who wants the war to continue because he does not want elections in Ukraine will be marginalized. So what you say is hapening is misleading repeating of ultre-left media shit.

Lesson - don't make doom predictions too early - it will lead to a negative perception on you - and yoru discredited .sources.

You are happy to be in a country where Starmir must stop the leftist BS or the country will collapse like the USA was headng into economic oblivion under Biden - the vilage idiot you never criticixzed. How do you like Gvenment schools encouraged children to undergo sex change operations paid by the State Goverments if prents object or men participation in women's sport - and protection of gang members from being sent back to their countries of origin 0- which never comment about,

You hate Maga without even knowing it is merely a progrramme to give he US voters back their freedom and not use illegal and oppressive governance to oppress people like both bama and Bidens pecialized it, Its aim is to make the country strong er to rotect democracy worldwidde and not eaken the country further, It does not entail any secret program and is also aimed to protect the interests of the usa as well. You hate the idea because your brinwashed brain got it from the ultra-left press.

Why don't you watch the following video by Bill Maher on his lunch with Trump. Remember Maher used to hate Trump like you do and what his finding was.

May 09, 2025, 17:16

MAGA is a growing dissent amongst the working class caused by an increasing discrepancy in wealth distribution, like the richest 1%.

It is a proletarian uprising and an attempt to reset capitalism. As such, it is not such a conservative movement. As the middle class shrinks in the US, this movement will continue to grow.

However, if Trump's term turns into a disaster (e.g. the Oligarchs get richer at the expense of the majority), we may see the rise of a far left movement.

May 09, 2025, 18:35

This movement has always existed….in the past in the form of Union power. But Unions became less relevant and became too aligned with the Dem’s woke agenda, leaving on opportunity for Trump, who exploited it very effectively.

But you’re right this is not a conservative government, endorsing the case against Alphabet is a good example.

May 09, 2025, 22:26

Perplexity opines:

Is MAGA Considered a Conservative Movement?

Summary:

The MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement is often associated with conservative politics in the United States, but whether it truly fits the definition of a "conservative movement" is a subject of debate among political analysts and commentators.

Arguments for MAGA as a Conservative Movement:

Policy Overlap:

  1. MAGA advocates for many policies traditionally associated with American conservatism, such as restricting immigration, promoting "traditional values," and adopting an "America First" approach to economic and foreign policy123. Many MAGA supporters self-identify as conservatives and participate in the broader conservative "culture war"3.

Republican Alignment:

  1. MAGA is a significant faction within the Republican Party, and many Republicans who identify as "MAGA Republicans" see themselves as part of the conservative movement15.

Arguments Against MAGA as a Conservative Movement:

  1. Departure from Traditional Conservatism:
  2. Critics argue that MAGA departs from traditional conservative ideals such as fiscal responsibility, limited government, respect for institutions, and free-market capitalism46. Instead, it emphasizes populism, nationalism, and loyalty to Donald Trump over established conservative principles46.

  1. Populist and Authoritarian Tendencies:
  2. The movement is described as more populist, contrarian, and authoritarian than previous iterations of the Republican Party, focusing on grievance politics and power rather than conserving traditions or institutions346.

  1. Personality-Driven, Not Ideology-Driven:
  2. MAGA is often seen as a personality-driven movement centered around Trump, rather than an ideology rooted in conservative philosophy6. Its approach to politics is frequently described as combative and focused on winning at all costs, rather than upholding a consistent set of conservative values6.

  1. Comparison to Leftist Populism:
  2. Some commentators liken MAGA to left-wing populist movements, emphasizing its focus on redistribution, government intervention, and opposition to elites, rather than on conserving existing social or economic orders4.

Comparison Table: MAGA vs. Traditional Conservatism

FeatureMAGA MovementTraditional Conservatism
Core FocusPopulism, nationalism, loyalty to TrumpTradition, restraint, limited government
Economic PolicyProtectionism, selective interventionFree markets, fiscal responsibility
Social Values"Traditional values" (often selectively applied)Consistent emphasis on family, morality
Attitude to InstitutionsDistrust, willingness to disrupt normsRespect for established institutions
Political StyleCombative, personality-drivenProcess-oriented, ideology-driven

Conclusion

While the MAGA movement shares some policy positions and cultural rhetoric with American conservatism, many analysts and commentators argue that it is not a conservative movement in the traditional sense. Instead, it represents a populist, nationalist, and personality-driven faction that often rejects or redefines core conservative principles in favour of loyalty to Donald Trump and an "America First" agenda346. Thus, MAGA is best understood as a distinct movement that overlaps with, but is not synonymous with, American conservatism.

May 10, 2025, 03:42

Where did you get the above BS from - it is total BS from word one. First of all Maga is not a conservative movement in most cases. It aims at protection of issues like Freedom of speech and no usage of the security services to oppress people like Biden's admnistration did, The movement aimed at proection of the USA Constitution as a full effort of the State and safeguard people from crime and corruption.

Unlike Biden - Trump has a strong personaliy realizing the USA people are jeopardized like with an open border policy, fighting of crime and preventing men taking part in womens sport and in general making the working class in the USA poorer and stopping state bribery and corruption,

None of the politics of the Republican Party can be regarded as rightwing conservatism - at best the party is a coalition between the working and middle class support together with increased support of the Black and Hispanic communities aimed at protection of center-right principles in the USA, I hope you watch Bill Maher's comments on Trump in the video I posted a reference to his lunch he had with Trump in the WH. He said and I doubt not he felt about it as well and that s that Trump is not the monster the leftist media claimed he is, From being an enemy who hated Trump Majer claimed he is a fried of Trump and will be citicize him in future on a friendly basis,

Trump has a strong emphasis on the situation of destoying the working class and the destruction of the USA economy by maladministaton, bribery and corruption and he put business managers in charge to ensure the protection of the USA economy from the path towards self-destruction it was on under Biden, And he allows the press into his office and field questions and he allows the press to be present in cabinet meetings - something no US President or any democracy has done before, in an effort to ensure that the people in the USA is kept aware of what the Government is intending to do Trump is trying to overcome the distrust the people in general developed over the past 20 years,. So the peoples' trust in the USA Government is being rebuilt after years of distrust by a large component of the USA Governent, Trump is not perfect though - he makes jokes that is msiinterpreted in a media who hates him - ;lke him being the next Pope - it was a joke and every thinking person would recognize it as one - but for the leftist emdia it was another source for BS spreading.

Trump is a strong leader - but is not really interested in being anythig bar a servant of he American people for following principles that protect their interests, That is why the majority of the voters in general support what he is doing and that adds to his populaity as a leader. That is why the people support him -something the media fail to understand and the creating of the egoism BS they spread,

May 10, 2025, 13:45

The damage the media caused to people believing in them is immense. They have become so obsessed with Trump and believe everything the media came up with in 2015 - shit like lies the Democrats and the Obama Administration spread about Trump being a servant of Putin is persisting and were exposed by investgations that exposed the BS involved,

But the question is why the hatred of the leftists media of Trump and why the cover-up and constant attacks on Trump. The answer is really simple - the Democrats under Obama wanted to start a system where only the Democrats would goven in the USA according to the believes of the leftists would be elected as leaders of the country and they can implement policies that the voters must accept without question/

The fact is opinion on this site indicates that Trump is a madman that must be destroyed because he opposed the love of power by the Democrats and their involvement in bribery and corruption benefittinmg in the main the leadership. The key was that the Justice Deprtment and the FBI was to be captured by the Party and nothing will ever be done to Democratc Party coruption. A book can be written about what Obama did in that field of benefitting from corruption. An easy eample is the following:-

  1. When Obama was first elected as Junior Senator for Illinois in 2004 he was required to declare his assets and in the relevnt statement he claimed that his total assets were $100 000.
  2. When Obama was elected as President 4 years later he declared h is aassets as $3,5 million - an impossble amount if the income was not achievable wthout coruption.
  3. Wen he left the WH in 2017 before anmy commitments n anything was confirmed Obma wennt on a buying spree to buy luxury homes and bought 5 homes in the USA on which he spet $32 million and opaid in cash for them. Another achievement he could not attain on a $400 000 a year,

In 2014 the House and Senate sent a draft act on prevention of inside trading to Obama w ho announced receipt of the Act at function attended by the press in the Rose garden and sad he is delighted by receiving an Act preventing politicians from involvement in insder trading. He promised to sign th e act into law as soon as possible. He did not sgn it - but gutted the Act making it totally toothless and that was the end of the Act since the DP mebers wh supported the Act in the Senate panicked and discontinued support for teh Act originally passed and in the end t here were no Act on the issue.

There was a major scandal under Obama relating to sale of the Shareholding of Uranium 1 shares to Vodatrom a Russian state-linked company. Uraianium had the mining rights on mining of uranium i respect of 25% of the uranium strategic reserve of Uraniam in the USA. Uranium of actually before was a South Africa based company whose main owner moved to Canada and register the company in Canada. In th at case the Obama Administration had to give approval for the transfer of the shareholding and it was given. In return the company made a donation to the Clinton Foundation of $142 million from Vodatrom and that was investigated by Special Council Mueller as Special Council - the same person who lied to the USA Senate about weapons of mass destruction of Iraq and was helping n starting te Iran War in 2003. He was afterwards appointed afterwards to investigate the Russian Hoax and found no evidence of links between Trump and Putin He found nothing and made a legally impossible statement about he cannt exomerate Trump from being linked to Putin in teh capaign - but in his report he mentione that Russians did support Trump's eetion by posting adverts on teh internet - which in act amunted to $41 000 - a minimal amount when political costs of election advertsing involving hundreds of Millions dollars per election. In other words a $100 million was spent and found nothing.

Be it as it may Obama set an example of how coruption in Government operates and his VP was as crooked as he was. Biden and his family started their corruption enterprise in 2014 in Ukraine and China and in the end he signed a pardon for the corrupt lot involved in corruption since 2014 in all of Ukraine, China and Iran and corv=ering th e period 1 January 2014 to 1 December 2024. It was acs crooked as hell.

When the 2020 election was held in 2020 the de was that people should not vote in person and empty ballots were setn to millions of people in States and no requirement of identifcation was needed - so millions fo vote were counted as legitimate - which in act was BS open to amssive fraud, In 2024 the same system could not be used to its fullest extent and anda s a result Biden recevioed 8 million votes less than he did in 2020.and the result was to be expected. The media hided away the signs f dementia evident in Biden in 2021. It got progressively worse - but the leftist media said it was non-existing, The farce was continued - the media saying clasm were non-existing - but in the end t he emdia argument collased and ater lying to the public for years the unpopularity of Biden took its claim. Why was the Biden Administration unpopular - in isnatnce t was based on t he open border policiy adopted by Biden or his handler, the collapse of law and order in the USA and the defunding of the Police advocated by th e leftwing of he Democratic Party and the media and the die situation pertaining to the working class and poor of all races that got worse under Biden and his incompetent adminisration and corrupt administration.

The FBI and Justice department was used t undermine opposition party and it effect parents who bjected t teh quality and content of education provided - eg the promotion of sex change of children and the Satlinist method of inciting tthe children to hate family life, In teh se of the ctholic Church it aimed at undermining of pro-lfe movements, And then there was th policy to enhance biiological men to participate in women sport - most of those isses never featured in th e emdia and of which the site members did not know.

Instead the Biden Administration decided to use the Justice Department to lay criminal charges and that was in full cry in the media. In essense in legal terms the charges were fake with no legal substance. The Justice Department and the WH was in full support of the judcial campaign against Trump and the emdia was in full cry in supporting t and the site members fell log, stock nd barrell for the BS and n thed the whole structure of charge collapsed inm 2024. It was just a campaign to weaponized the Justice D eprtment to act uncosntitutionally against a political opponent and nothing more.

When Trump became Presiddent he appointed Doge under Musk to investigate hat was happening in the USA Federal Goverment and the shit hit the fan with billons fo dolalrs bein sent corruptly and maladminstration was rife in all Government Departments. The emdia was n full cry aginstn everthing that Trump endeavoured to implement and t he site memebrs believed the BS - as they believed all things against Trump. I one reds the BS spread above by site members it is clear they hate Trump based on media BS over the alst decade and ha been brainwashed to eb lieve shit is butter.

The contributins amde by memebrs above is a waste of space by BS on this site. .

Perplexity can read DumbMike's Diatribe of Tripe:

Fact-Checking the Claims Made by "Dumbmike" on Ruckers Forum

Below is a detailed fact check of the major claims made in the post, with references to the provided search results.

Claim 1: The media lied about Trump being a "servant of Putin" and investigations exposed this as false.

  1. Fact Check:
  2. The Mueller investigation did not find sufficient evidence that the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with Russia to influence the 2016 election. However, the investigation did confirm that Russia interfered in the election to help Trump and that there were numerous contacts between Trump associates and Russians. The report did not exonerate Trump on obstruction of justice4. The narrative that Trump was a "servant of Putin" is an exaggeration, but the claim that the entire story was fabricated is inaccurate, as Russian interference and suspicious contacts were well-documented24.

Claim 2: The media is obsessed with Trump and overwhelmingly negative toward him.

  1. Fact Check:
  2. Studies have shown that media coverage of Trump was significantly more negative than for previous presidents. For example, during the first 60 days of Trump’s presidency, 62% of media coverage was negative compared to 20% for Obama1. This supports the assertion of a negative media focus, though the reasons for this are debated.

Claim 3: Obama’s wealth increased suspiciously from $100,000 in 2004 to $3.5 million as President, and he bought $32 million in homes with cash after leaving office.

  1. Fact Check:
  2. Obama’s wealth did increase significantly after entering national politics, primarily due to lucrative book deals and speaking engagements. By 2017, the Obamas had made about $20 million since arriving in Washington, mostly from book royalties and advances. Claims that Obama bought five homes for $32 million in cash are not substantiated by credible reports. Most of the Obamas’ post-presidency wealth is traceable to book deals and speaking fees, not unexplained sources5.

Claim 4: Obama gutted the STOCK Act (insider trading law) after promising to sign it.

  1. Fact Check:
  2. The STOCK Act, aimed at preventing insider trading by members of Congress, was signed into law by President Obama in April 20126. There were subsequent amendments that rolled back some online disclosure requirements due to security concerns, but the core provisions banning insider trading remained intact. The claim that Obama "gutted" the act is misleading; transparency provisions were reduced, but the law was not rendered "totally toothless"6.

Claim 5: The Uranium One deal was a major Obama-era scandal involving Russian donations to the Clinton Foundation and required Obama administration approval.

  1. Fact Check:
  2. The Uranium One deal did involve the sale of a company with uranium mining rights in the U.S. to Russia’s Rosatom, and it required approval from a multi-agency committee, including the State Department under Hillary Clinton. Some leaders of Uranium One made donations to the Clinton Foundation. However, there is no direct evidence that these donations influenced the approval process or that Obama personally benefited. The amount cited as donated to the Clinton Foundation ($142 million) is not supported by credible reporting; the actual amount is much less78.

Claim 6: Biden and his family began corrupt dealings in Ukraine and China in 2014, and Biden signed a pardon for all involved in corruption from 2014–2024.

  1. Fact Check:
  2. There is no evidence that Joe Biden signed any blanket pardon for corruption related to Ukraine, China, or Iran for the period 2014–2024. Allegations about Biden family corruption have been widely reported and investigated, but no such pardon exists as of May 2025.

Claim 7: The 2020 U.S. election was rife with fraud due to mail-in ballots and lack of ID requirements, and millions of illegitimate votes were counted.

  1. Fact Check:
  2. Multiple audits, recounts, and court cases found no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election. Mail-in voting was expanded due to the pandemic, but claims of "millions" of illegitimate votes have not been substantiated by credible evidence.

Claim 8: The media hid Biden’s cognitive decline and the unpopularity of his administration is due to open borders, law enforcement issues, and economic decline.

  1. Fact Check:
  2. Media coverage of Biden’s health and administration has been mixed, with both mainstream and conservative outlets reporting on concerns about his age and cognitive abilities. Biden’s approval ratings have declined, with contributing factors including border policy, crime, and economic challenges, but the assertion that the media universally "hid" these issues is not accurate.

Claim 9: The Justice Department and FBI were weaponized against Trump and his supporters, and legal charges against Trump were fake.

  1. Fact Check:
  2. The Justice Department has pursued charges against Trump and his associates in several cases. The legitimacy of these charges is a matter for the courts, and to date, several Trump associates have been convicted of crimes4. The claim that all charges are "fake" and without legal substance is not supported by the outcomes of these cases.

Claim 10: Obama set an example of government corruption, and Trump exposed mass corruption after appointing "Doge under Musk" to investigate.

  1. Fact Check:
  2. Possibly confused, as much of this is hearsay with no fraud investigations. This appears to be a fabrication or misunderstanding.

Summary Table

ClaimVerdictEvidence

Media obsessed/negative on TrumpSupportedMedia coverage was more negative for Trump1
Obama’s wealth suspiciously increasedFalse/MisleadingWealth from book deals, not unexplained sources5

Conclusion

The post by "DumbMmike" contains a mix of partially true, misleading, and outright false claims. While some criticisms of media bias and the negative coverage of Trump are supported by evidence, most of the allegations regarding Obama’s and Biden’s corruption, the Uranium One deal, the STOCK Act, and election fraud are either exaggerated, lack substantiation, or are contradicted by credible reporting and official records.

This is more of a media opinion check. Heaven knows the Oom is hardly reliable….but if the bulk of the press opinion is negative, any ‘ fact check’ will be negative. When AI can reason, deduce and show some wisdom these AI judgements might have some value. Until then AI is basically best left to discover real ‘facts’.

The issue is that the EU started off with ideals about economic growth in Europe nd over years it became a block of politicians who protect their interests cotrolled by a ssive beaucracy Mozart calls the bureaucrats who write out regulations for govenments to implement who harms the interests of the people living in Europe " the little people in suits" , I will give you a simple example that caused major price rises in Europe of dairy and meat prices. All that becaise the farting of cows cause Global Warming so the catlle and dairy farming must ove time be eliminated. So what the bureaucrats in Brussels want? People must change their diets and eat food not involving milk and meat.

Farmers must reduce their farm areas to allow for natural development of unconmtrolld growth on their farms hitting agriculture om EU countries very hard- with major implcations for th e ordinary people in Europe, The bureaucrats know what hey ebleive is what is good for themelves and mzke them idealogically feel happy about it,

In general the situation is that EU countriees allowed infrastructure to become defective witout any ugrading of systems. For uinstance power supply in Europe must depend on wind and sun electricity - but inresearch worldwide it s clear that those two sources put agriculture in jeopardy since large tacts of land must be used for wind and sun electricity infrastrucuture and even then the end result is negative - solar and wind power development has an extemely negative on food production. Nuclear power that is the cleanest form of electricity provision that has the least impact on the environent must be eliinated and replaced by a source that is not capable to meet power requirements,

IN the EU the ideal is to eliminate culture, history and religion in Europe because it is divisive and is in decline he idea of elimination of pride in family life and in conflict with their believe that people should not have any rights in being proud of their countries - known in general as the WOKE culture. It promotes the uncontrolled entry of migrants into the country without regard to the negative aspects of the European people and in their safety. In various countries there is a growth in political parties that believe in protection of their culture and pride in thei countries, One only have to look at the fact that sport is one of the issue which is ignored by poeple and they support thei countries in sprt and their athletes to the detriment of the believes of the "little men in suits" working for the EU admibistration in Europe.

Another factor which is detrimental to the people is education and the deficiencies in protection of pupils in schools, An example is my nephew who moved to England in 2000 - bit returned to South Afria because of the secibdary educatuib ib secindry schools in Europe where drug trade in secondary schools is rife and educatuin stardards is sub-par, In South A frica -despite ANC policy to lower education standards provie in especially the Wstern Cape where the rvince is govened by the Democrtaic aAlliance where safet if opeople and if education standards have been maintained and my neoew quoted two reasins for retrning to SA ws that in England quality education has been reduced iand drug sellng in secondary schools is rife and not controlled by the athorities.

Another example is the fuctioning of their armed services to protect the interests of the EU countries through NATO, The only countries where NATO arnies exceed 100 000 men is outside of US Arned services having 100 000 soldiers to proect Europe is Turkey, Greece and Italy. For the rest the EU countries have deficient armies to de3end themselves jointly or separately, When the Houthies atatcked shipping in the Red Sea the EU cuntries havce insufifient and they asked Trump to proterct European shipping in the said sea.

The UK has huge problems - same has the EU countries - so what benefit is there oin joining the EU?

That intentional ?

Not sure, could be a combo between Shitory and a scrambled brain or no brain.

Whatever it is you can't knock it based on it being unique and natural in its presentation.

May 11, 2025, 16:07

You are enttled to believe in B S fed to you by the media - but it has no real value to the electorate in the countries other than growth of Parties like AfD in Germany and Reform Party in the UK, The ordianry people are sick and tured of Governments that act as if they are chosen by idiots and is rapidly growing in most countries in Europe; In the USA the Demcorats are falling apart and their name is equal to ratshit at present. It is clear lies does not help governments anymore and the people are strggling to survive - while the shit from Governents allow for te elite politicans to protect their owwn interests,

So keep posting AI BS on site, I fnd it amusing how you believe the shit you and a few other idiots spout on site.

May 12, 2025, 07:49

I see they announced a deal with China as well.

May 12, 2025, 12:24

Maybe Draad

Wht happened in 2019 was that a new trade deal eliminating acceptable Chinese conduct was ready for signature - bu due to the Covid pandemic starting in China Trump shelved the deal.

So then we had anther Denny famous contribution tha because of tariffs US represnetatives went to VChina to plea with President Xi to be lss harsh on the US as a result f Trumps tariffs - which was BS supreme as expected,

What actually happened President Xi phoned Trump on the issue and it was ageed that Bessent and his aids would meet his Chinese colleague and staff i Geneva on Friday and Bessent afterwards said there were discussions of issues that had to be agreed befre a rade deal could be finalized tok 8 hous on Fridy and on Saturday the issues relatig to the trade deal was to be discussed and those dicussions will continue until a final xdedal was agreed on.

I would under the circumstances hink that you may be right that a deal has bena greed to based on what was in the del following the 2019 agreement.- whch may hve eben sorted out on Friday.

May 12, 2025, 12:59

A pparently what was ageed upon was to cut back th tariffs on both sides to 10% - bu there is another sna g and that is the fentinyl tariff of 20% on all Chines goods 5emin in place an issue will be undr review and a new agreement is to be signed about that one in a way is a eparte from the main trade deal to be dealt wth separtely.

In the emantime Bessen announced that there isa long list of agreements that will be finalized by the end of teh eyar - there are apparetly more han 90 such deals being under negotiation at present, Some will be much more complicated than others, The nly country here trade deals have not started is Germany - that isist the deals must be an dled by the EU and not individual countries, Unless germany start negotiations dorectlly with the USA - there will be no trade deal and the only sufferer as a result would be Germany.

The rest f the EU countries are ining up to protect their own trading with the USA. The ideal of the site idiots that Trump is a failed dicator is slowly being eliminated as standard BS on their part,

.
