Australian cricket legend Nathan Lyon is one of the best Test players of the current era, having recently reached the 500-wicket mark in Test cricket in the ongoing series against Pakistan.

In doing so, Lyon became only the fourth spinner in Test history after Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, and Anil Kumble to reach the 500-wicket milestone.

Lyon also finds himself in rare company as he is one of just six players in Test cricket history to hold the unique record of playing 100 or more consecutive Tests. Lyon made his debut in 2011 and has since gone on to play 124 matches in the longest format.

Who did Nathan Lyon name as the three best players he has bowled against?

In an interaction with Sydney Cricket Ground's official social media channel, Lyon was asked a few questions in a rapid-fire Q&A session.

One of the questions he was asked was about the best player he had played against, to which he replied,

The best player I've played against, that's a very hard question. I have played against some of the greats of the game. I will give you top three [names]. They will be Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, and AB de Villiers.

When asked about his secret of getting them out, Lyon revealed,

Uh, secret to getting them out? Something that I would struggle to do would be trying to challenge the defence for long periods of time.
