And so it comes down

to an epic grand final between two teams both desperate for a win. Who will it be?

It will mean so much more for our Proteas and the country than what it would for India.

It will also be the last time some of the girls who are indispensable take part in a World Cup,

once they're gone I have no doubts that the quality of the side will go into a downward spiral.

So from a Protea perspective there's a lot hanging on this final. Also, if they win will it encourage more participation in domestic CSA cricket?

Who will it be?

It's very hard to make a call, I would if I knew the state of the wicket and the winner of the toss.

If I'm not mistaken the game is going to be played in a different venue to the one where the semi finals were played.

There's a couple of things we know which doesn't change.......

One is that 5 of the team have to put their hands up and they are Laura, Tamzin, Marizanne, Nadine and Chloe, they simply cannot rely on Anneke, Annerie, Sune and sex.

Bowling wise, Marizanne is a star skilled and experienced, if there's swing about she'll nail it. Nadine and Chloe are both competitive and so is Mlaba. Klaas would be an interesting selection but the pedestrian Khaka seems to be the favourite.

Our girls to their credit are better fielders and scrap harder than India.

The game as in all finals is a start from fresh, a new stadium, a new wicket, there'll be lots of pressure, Laura who leads by example is a cool customer, if she once again plays a captain's innings and I hope she does then our winning stocks increase in leaps and bounds.

May the force be with you, I'll be watching your every move..... GL

Well, who knows, if Anneke hadn't dropped two vital catches we might be having a different conversation.
