My Aussie friends are besides themselves with respect to the performance of the OZ squad this far.
I for one could not understand why Smith was excluded in the WC side for this CWC.
To include Green is mistake #1 he is flakey at best with both bat and ball.
But a dismal performance in general from most if not all the Aussies who have taken the field in this CWC contest.
Very odd not to have a full hearted go…if not the WC what?
An Aussie bowling attack missing Starc, Hazelwood and Cummins will always be a bit toothless, but to compound that with the non-selection of Steve Smith is just baffling.
I've never liked Steve Smith - even before his cheating episode - but he remains Australia's best batsman by some distance and has been in good form in the Big Bash.
Oh well, come on Zimbabwe! Let's get those covers off and play!

Getting to the respectable Aussie total of 182 with only 2 wickets down. Nissanka finishes it with a superb 4. Some of the most elegant batting we have seen in a while….late cuts and leg glances along with the big shots down the ground. Australia’s fate now lies with Zimbabwe, but this must be the most flaccid Aussie attack we have seen in a while.
