Markram.
Markram.
Sure about that?
Yes he might have great stats in T20 as you indicated with the above charts but what has he produced when representing the Proteas in T20.
He is unreliable in the Protea T20 team with the bat in this short form of cricket as far as I am concerned.
Sure he has made runs in the odd T20 game but I would rather want Rossouw in at #3.
Runs win matches.
What the hell is Parnell doing there
What the hell is Parnell doing there
Ja, exactly right, what da hell is he doing there!? So too Pretorius but if that's not insulting enough then the non selection of Marco Jansen certainly is. Jansen is more than twice thei r value.
Here's my side....
Brevis, (Quinton/Hendricks), Riley, Markram, Miller, Stubbs, Marco, Maharaj, Rabada, Ngidi, Nortje.
Jansen as my Allrounder but then there's also the added bonus of Markram's spin if needed.....6 specialist batsmen including 3 big hitters in the middle order(Markram,Miller and Stubbs) and there's another added bonus in Maharaj who I regard as an allrounder/ specialist spinner and big hitter. That said let's not forget the big hitting at the front of the innings with Brevis.
Pity Brevis was left at ho
me...yesterday he scored 162 off 57 for the Titans vs the Knights in the local provincial T20!!!
Parnell is there because he’s one of the best short format all rounders in the country.
Hopefully we soon get rid of the BLM midget and Brevis gets his shot.
Parnell has stepped up big time...I'm very impressed.
Parnell was excellent against India…..having a Leftie balances the attack.
Agree Draad, Parnell has stepped up big time, his improvement is impressive. I used to be one of his biggest critics but throughout every series this year his performance has proven to be consistently good.
Credit goes to Dave for spotting Brevis, boggles the mind why he wasn't included but neither did Plum in his "world Class" side that included Reeza "Jonnie Come Lately Quota" Hendricks. Ask him......I'm sure he has a plausible reason.

….
Every time you post you look like a bigger idiot.
He is in serious competition with you?
Mike, he is a bright spark.....after the event.....but even then he gets it wrong. If you can find a single post wherein he's selected a team, pushed for a player's selection, predicted the outcome of a game and/or did a summary of a game, I will apologise. He's been exposed for his ignorance, actually he's done it to himself. The only post of any decency was the one he wrote about Harold Larwood, he claimed to have seen Larwood, a rotten dirty lie, Larwood's cricket career spanned
in the years before he was born. He plagiarized that story. Only a fool would have swallowed his BS.His lasting classic.......We don't produce those kind of players anymore is a clear example of the ignorance of the blithering Buffoon. In the last 2 years we have produced three excellent prospects in Marco Jansen, Tristan Stubbs and Dewald Brevis let alone Ryan Rickleton, Janneman Malan and Gerald Coetzee.
Parnell has ALWAYS, literally since his first selection, been a top 3 short format all-rounder for SA.
Nothing about him has changed.
“ Credit goes to Dave for spotting Brevis, boggles the mind why he wasn't included but neither did Plum in his "world Class" side that included Reeza "Jonnie Come Lately Quota" Hendricks. Ask him......I'm sure he has a plausible reason. ”
whahaha…well, if Brevis wasn’t 16 at the time i made my list then perhaps i’d have included him.
Is somebody losing the plot?

Temba Bavuma (capt)‚ Quinton de Kock‚ Reeza Hendricks‚ Heinrich Klaasen, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram‚ David Miller‚ Lungi Ngidi‚ Anrich Nortjé‚ Wayne Parnell‚ Dwaine Pretorius‚ Kagiso Rabada‚ Rilee Rossouw, Tabraiz Shamsi‚ Tristan Stubbs.
I would have had Marco Jansen ahead of Pretorius but for the lack of a decent reserve wickie, Quinton's lack of form and Bavuma's questionable inclusion in the T20 format it is a good competitive side. Brevis would have been a better choice than Bavuma. Problem could be if they start Bavuma then who sits out?
