Do you remember a poster who posted under the handle of “Groenbloed”?

If I remember correctly he posted on SA Rugby

May 18, 2026, 20:06

Yes I do ...that was ages ago... wasn't he also a WP man?...I wasn't on SA Rugby ... Supersport had a forum where I 1st met most of the old crowd...then Supersupporter and here.

May 19, 2026, 01:10

Ja he was a staunch Promise fan. Thought you might have known him a bit better being an Afrikaner and so on.

Anyway, I met him o one of my trips many moons ago, ago, lovely bloke, we watched a game together on a typical wet winters night at Newlands. The game was against the “Tahs who I’d seen the week before in Sydney.

Even so it was a brilliant experience with the added bonus of the Stormerettes doing their sexy routine

hahaha

We stayed I touch for a little while, I was hoping that you had his contact details.

Those we’re the days

cheers

May 19, 2026, 01:18

Sorry, the only posters I ever met outside of this board was Owen Meany. Shared a few texts or emails with a few people, but nothing really personal...

May 19, 2026, 02:51

ouDawie's unique ... met & had a dop with both (the once upon a time not so friendly adversaries) Mozart & Rooinek .

May 19, 2026, 04:38

Well I’ll be blown, maybe we should run a blog on whose met who, it would be interesting.

??

so BB are you saying you met the 3 musketeers?

May 19, 2026, 05:39

Nooit ... apart from a few whose images I've seen online, you're all pictures in my mind ... Draad's met one more than me.

May 19, 2026, 05:41

ouDawie = Saffex

Owen warned me once that he'd klap me so hard that I'll be vrek voor my hoed die grond raak

May 19, 2026, 05:47

I've briefly met Stu and Leslie...and I regularly texted Vlag for a few years before his death.

May 19, 2026, 07:09

Now There was an awesome poster, politically on opposite side of the fence we still respected each other, he knew his stuff.

The last disagreement we had was about a Beatle song but I had to admit he was right and I was wrong.

May 20, 2026, 01:16

Ja, I wasn't always on the same side of the fence as Vlag, but he was a good man. May he rest in peace...way too young to go.

May 20, 2026, 03:19

Ja Draad his passing was premature and very sad.

He once said that Hawkeye posted amongst us, did you know that?

May 20, 2026, 04:32

There were a few of them trying to stir here but I don't know who...I know Barnacle posted here as someone too...

May 20, 2026, 04:54

Vlag knew Hawkeye’s nick but wouldn’t disclose it. Barnacle is an highly educated academic, I didn’t know he had posted here, actually he emailed me a couple of times but that’s going way way back

May 20, 2026, 10:48

I remember the name Groenbloed but I can't remember the poster.

The posters Sonny Bill, Admit_One and The_Truth are among several names used by ex-Kamp Staaldraad trolls (possibly all the same loser) trying to trash this forum out of spite because their own one crashed.

If the cowardly foul-mouthed liar Hawkeye is a regular on here I've got a pretty good idea who he could be.

May 20, 2026, 12:28

Hawkeye passed away a while ago.

May 20, 2026, 12:59

Didn't know that. I take back what I said. RIP.

May 20, 2026, 13:20

I think Barnacle posted as The Truth on here...and Rooi, you just have forgotten about Hawkeye...you had a RIP thread for him when you still thought he was DA...or at least posted on such thread...was years ago.

May 20, 2026, 14:39

Yes, I remember now. Thanks.

If this Barnacle person was The Truth then it's very likely he was also the losers Sonny Bill and Admit_One. They all had the same style, the same agenda and the same posting period.

May 20, 2026, 15:01

He came on here as the Truth and admitted to being Barney...IDK about the rest ...I suspected DA of being one of the old SS posters too, but could never put my finger on exactly who and after all these years, he's probably not....Card is easy to spot ..very recognizable way of writing. . figured Ceradyne out as Vlagman on my own but never any of the others ...ah well, it is nothing of consequence really...

May 20, 2026, 17:35

Hard to believe Sonny Bill and Admit One was Barnacle but I guess you’d never really know for sure, Barnacle rarely posted and came across as a decent fella, As far as suspicions go I’ve always suspect ed DA of being Taipan. I guess we’ll never know.for sure

May 20, 2026, 18:49

I'm not claiming anyone was the angry, self-righteous and opinionated Sonny Bill and Admit_One, I'm saying I think Sonny Bill, Admit-One and The Truth were all the same lifeless loser.

I have no idea if that's Barnacle or anyone else. Barnacle is another name I remember but I can't recall the poster that well or what he stood for.

What I do remember very clearly from the Kamp Staaldraad board (Supersupporter I think was the official name) was that it was heavily moderated and Barlee (obergruppenfuhrer) and Hawkeye (untergruppenfuhrer) were the power-hungry, deceitful and cowardly losers who moderated it. Hawkeye used to edit my posts and add expletives and then whine to Barlee about my language and when I sent Barlee some private emails about what Hawkeye was doing, his response was to publish my real name.

I don't want to speak ill of the dead but a bigger pair of complete arseholes is hard to imagine. The poster you knew as Vlag or Ceradyne (that I called Ceradunce) used to defend their disgraceful behaviour which is why he and I never got along . . . but again, I don't want to speak ill of the dead and Ceradunce at least had the balls to post under a new name and front up about who he was on the Kamp Staaaldraad board . . . unlike the Sonny Bill/The Truth/Admit_One complex who just took cowardly little pot-shots at me without ever acknowledging they were Kamp SS posters.

I found you guys (Denny, Mozart, ou Maaik, Dave, Baboon-ou etc.) on that board Kamp SS a lot later and then I found you all again on this forum a lot later too. I was always a few months behind you guys.

May 21, 2026, 03:23

Vlag was loyal ... and honorable...if he defended anyone it was because he believed them...

May 21, 2026, 03:41

Barney aka. whatever, time for a revisit or two, will be appreciated asb.

I thought Stu & Leslie would've come over. Too many of us pissed off Taipan & vice versa, not surprised he never.

Can anyone remember or name the serious cycling lady ?

May 21, 2026, 07:28

Barney was a top bloke, he rarely posted but his posts were solid.

I’m leaning towards Hawkeye as Sonny Bill and Admit One, stands to reason that those two disappeared after Hawkeye’s passing.

love to see Barnacle show up.

May 21, 2026, 12:49

Taipan wasn't that bad...I am still on a Whatsapp group Leslie started...Stu was on it, but left. Taipan, The Don and Docker the Aussie still on there...very silent group, but there's movement every now and then.

May 22, 2026, 03:28

Not too bad you say, funny then that Ed kicked him off not once but twice soon after he joined.

May 22, 2026, 04:30

Joined what ?

May 22, 2026, 05:00

Nah, he never joined here...most people aren't too bad ....I can get along with most...not everyone, but most sorts...

May 22, 2026, 05:10

klop all the people he fought with are here

May 22, 2026, 06:52

Joined this site after the collapse of Supersupporter

May 22, 2026, 06:53

Draad reminds me of Trump…..”I get on well with…….”

May 22, 2026, 07:30

hehehe ...

May 22, 2026, 18:42

At one stage the Board had some members From England, New Zealand and Australia on site. Due to death some members departed .

I think mot of the few NZ member stop posting when the Super Rugby series collapsed - others just lost interest, I like most of he NZ members were- interesting posters and a few now and then make a posting on site,

The problem is that fo there are 10 regular posters left it is a lot. We need new members and one wonders what can be done to increase and encourage members to post regularly.

In the whole time I posted on site I personally met 3 posers and spoke on the phone once, The one poster I met had a heart attack and passed away. Dave and Denny are nice people. even though I differ a lot from them.

Is there no way we can et an increase of regular po/sting members on site? Can't we get Dave back - he knows a lot about the younger players coming through the system?

May 22, 2026, 20:15

Uncle Mike, maybe Becs dressed in her Witch outfit can convince Saffolk to come back :)

May 22, 2026, 21:34

LOL

Maybe we ahould go wider and get some friends involved as well.

May 27, 2026, 04:04

bad news for ouDraaad

May 27, 2026, 04:39

We'll see...

May 27, 2026, 05:51

Maybe we ahould go wider and get some friends involved as well.

That's a good idea.

Problem you have is the likes of Buttplug and Beeno driving them away. You just have to remember Buttplug's daily monotonous attacks on Cloudy and Beeno's in your face arrogance and self importance towards non SAFFA posters to understand why they turned away..

I did a lot of hard work trying to land new posters and creating an international hub only to see it destroyed.

May 28, 2026, 09:18

Draad, btw. Lesley, was the cyclist ? ...& the meisiekind I was thinking of wus, I think called Mata ?

May 28, 2026, 14:55

Lesley and Mata was the same person...she was an accountant for some big firm somewhere in the Transvaal platteland...think Afrisam ...now retired...and that's public knowledge...not doxing anything...

May 31, 2026, 19:58

Draad

'Groenbloed's' name is Burger Malherbe.....he was/is a practicing Solicitor out of the northern suburbs.

The bugger had two wives or so he told me........Geeez, I thought one was hard enuff hahahahaha

Jun 02, 2026, 04:27

Him and Beenz were at odds all the time...

Jun 02, 2026, 04:34

If you search: "burger malherbe cape town" on Google, a profile on LinkedIn pops up for a lawyer...looks like a fit to me....I don't want to link it here, but you should get the same result.

Jun 02, 2026, 06:10

I see he's moved to Kleinmond, he used to live in either Bellville or Somerset West. I'm tempted to give him a call and ask him to pop into Ruckers even if it's just for a one-off. I've been to Kleinmond, stayed not too far from the beach, might have dropped in at the pub if I remember correctly.

Top bloke, I really enjoyed the night out with him and his wife even though as I've said it was a typical Cape Town's winter's night with rain and wind.

And of course the Stormers lost, that didn't help but then again one more Klippies and alles was reg.
