Happy Birthday to you and JuJu, M!

May 12, 2026, 13:05

Who is Juju?

May 12, 2026, 13:29

this guy...

May 12, 2026, 13:46

Howzit guys, thanks for the BD wishes. It's been a hectic couple of months...

Quite a while ago I was discussing with Becs that I can't handle fatty foods so well...turns out I had a sick gallbladder. So I had it removed end of April...

I nearly shat myself going into surgery. If there is one thing I am scared of, it's a dentist and a hospital.

One moment the anaesthesiologist asked if I felt more relaxed from what he had injected me with...the next moment waking up in recovery feeling like I was in the matrix :)

The drugs they use is scary shit...so yes, still recovering but feeling fine. I am riding my bike again. Not right now with all these storms we're having in the Western Cape.

Try to simplify your responses with eg a name, there's no need for any melodrama. You seem caught between attention-seeking and overreaction..

May 12, 2026, 15:21

You seem to be caught between genders

May 12, 2026, 15:23

Howzit, M

Hope you are recovering well.

Lets hope they don't cancel the marathon again this year.

i had some highly disappointed friends and relatives last year. These cardio bunnies don't like when their events get cancelled

May 12, 2026, 15:53

Thanks Plum. The Sanlam Cape marathon is 24th of May...sure the weather will be fine, no major storms coming as far as the weather Bureau forecasts.

May 12, 2026, 21:51

Good to see you back M....I had the same problem about 2 years ago...mine was quite painful before they took it out...my sympathies...my recovery went great, but it takes a while before you're 100% again.

May 12, 2026, 22:03

Oh, and a very HBD to you...my late dad would have been 85 yesterday...hope you had a fantastic day.

May 13, 2026, 03:30

Thanks DB. Sorry about your Dad...my doctor tells me that it's quite a common occurrence that people have their gallbladder removed.

Mine was also painful beforehand...mine was luckily removed via laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

Where they make four small cuts, use a camera and four tubes with tools inserted through them. Less invasive than open surgery and faster recovery.

Any case, I'm happy it's over. I read you're an American now :) All the best with the rednecks...;)

May 13, 2026, 08:43
