Firstly, the timing of this meeting is woeful. Malema Trump is at his most vulnerable now that he has once again been embarrassed, first by Kim and now by Iran.
He needs Xi’s help to end the war in Iran, but that help will almost certainly come with strings attached—ones that tip the scales in China’s favor over America. Xi is sharp, Trump is clueless; Xi keeps a tight, poker-faced strategy, while Trump basks like a child in the limelight on the world stage.
Trump is set to make concessions, planning to sideline Taiwan just as he did with Ukraine, lower China’s tariffs, and give them access to high-end Nvidia microprocessors.
So, what can we expect from Xi? I believe he may help end the war, but in a way that favors Iran. In the end, that kind of help will likely prove to be of little real value.
As a matter of fact China will come out the meet the better of the two countries.
