After completion of the European clay court series at Roland Garros the tennis moved to grass court surfaces to help players prepare for Wimbledon.   The first two tournaments were last week at Hertogenbosch and Stuttgart was from the preparation for  Wimbledon by the higher ranked players a disaster.    All of Medvedev, Ruud and Tsitsipas went out early Ruud did not try to play at Queens and Halle did.   The winner last week in Stuttgart - Tiafoe - moved as a result this week moved into the top 10 rankings.

Ruud did not enter and played at either of the Queens and Tiafoe did - but was eliminated in the tournament Round 2.    Tsitsipas failed badly last week and was the same yesterday in Round 2.  Medvedev did win yesterday - but he struggled badly to get the Round 2 win.   Rublev on Tuesday played well until his thinking went awry in the second set - bad news.

If Rublev won in this tournament it will be his second tournament win  this year and

*    he will remain the no 7 player in the world, but within striking distance of the no 5 ranked Tsitsipas - difference before this tournament used to 875 points it will become 215 points - and the no 6 ranked player Rune - difference before this tournament was 375 points and wil be 55 points.

*    he will become the no 5 ranked player in the race to Torino.    Anyway the nervous Rublev surrender   -  Congrats to Bublik      

LONDON (QUEENS)

FINAL

1        Carlos Alcaraz                         vs     7     Alex de Minaur 

If Alcaraz wins in the final he -

*    will be ranked the no 1 player in the world again; and

*    wi

ll be the number 2 player in the Race to Torino.   

Alcaraz deserved virotya nd rturned as nmb1 plyar in the world.
