There were only 2 Round one matches completed yersterday and in one of those a seeded player (Tommy Paul) lost the match .   The other match was played between two top 32 ranked players (Khachanov and Cerundolo)  and Khachanov won teh match easily.

The problem is that this weeks result determine which 32 players will be seed n the US Open and there are plenty of changes posible bythe end of the Cincnnati tournament.  Depending on performances by especially the players a preent ranked from 27 to 32 wik have o perform well in the series or they may be out of the Top 32,

There re were 8  matches that got a free pass to Roud 2,  The ohr 8 playes have to play in Round 1.  Of the llarer - 5 Round 1 matches havebeen played yesterday,   Of those  2 has been on by seeded players and 3 lost their matches.   A fuurther 3 Round 1 matches.  involving seeded players  will be played today ad in two of those the seeds will be up against strong players/    

The other 7 Round 1 matches wll be between unseeded players.   There are also 2 Round 3 matches being played today.  

Of the 29 ranked players starting in the Cincinnati Tournament 4 as already been eliminated in the 14 matches played and that number is likely to increase.   in the remaining 10 matche to be played today.     .

I found this a little disappointing, did you see this result?

Alcaraz smashed his racket in frustration after Monfils held to go 3-1 up in the deciding set, with the Spaniard squandering four break points in total in the set.

“I felt like it was the worst match that I have ever played in my career,” Alcaraz said afterwards.

Not very generous to his opponent.

 I agree with yu - it is dippointig,   I dod not see the incient,    In between watching rugby and cricket I switch over to the other  chhnanels and sometimes fall asleep as well.
