Today is the second day of matches between unseedded an qualifying players.  The 16 such matches were interrupted by rain yeserday and only 11 of the 16  matches were completed - so there are 21 matches scheduled for today - 5 iro the Top Half of the Draw  and  16 iro the Bottom Half of the Draw matches.   

In Madrid the Roubd 2 matches cause havoc in Round 2 and 3 ad marred by injury of top players - will it be repeated in Rome?   Tus far th is yeaar Djokovic has been under-performing in all the tournamnts he played in and with the French Open  just about 2 weeks away it will be interesting to see whther he will recover form in the Rome Torunament.   The other player that would be interestig to watch is Rublev.   After being unable to get past Round 2 in torunamen since the Dubai psychological  disaster - he surprisingly won in the Madrid Open.       

Saturday and Sunday arre reserved for the Round 3 matches and the Round 4 matches are to be played on Monday and Tuesday next week.

What happened to Djokovic - he lost badly against the number 31 ranked player in the world?   Djokovic said last year that he will play unil he is not competitive anymore.   Thus far this year he was not competitive in any of the tournamens he played in  - so is he going to stay around much longer?   THAT WOULD INDEED BE A GEAT PITY FOR INTERNATIONAL TENNIS.   

He is defending Champion in the French Open starting two weeks from now.   - but is not going to perform if this match is borne in mind.   However, Djokovic claimed his loss was due to be hit by accident by a bottle when signing balls and hats - etc on Friday -  but that seems unlikely since he was claiming otherwisse on Saturday - making a joke about the incident.    .

If Zverev beats Jerry in the final he will become the number 4 ranking and Medvedev will go to number 5 ranked player.  Since the start of he touramen when he was no 24 rankd player in the world Jarrie  moved to the number 17 ranked player and a win today will move  to no 15 ranked  player - with a much easier draw to be expected  in the French Open.

Congrats to Zverev -  with this win he moved up to the number 4 payer in the World  - and he must be close to be favorite to win in Paris starting next week.
