Yesterday was a very abd day at the office for Alcaraz - he was playing the wordst tennis I have eve seen him playing.   Halfway through the second set thy called in the medics and they tested him finding that he was Covid 19 positive.    The medics told him to stop playing immediately - but he did not and played two further games to complete the match.   He lost both.   He is now oit of tennis for the next two months and will only be able to play in the Aussie Open next year.

Not surprising that Sinner retired from playing today - he struggled in the early houes of this morning to win and 2  difficult matches to play on the same day is rather unfair to him.

SEMIFINALS

1   Novak Djokovic             vs       5    Andrey Rublev

7    Stefanos Tsitsipas         vs        Grigor Dimitro

Djokovic performance against Griekspoor (the no 23 ranked  player in the world) was  substandard and his lack of sportsmanship during the game was boo-ed repeatedly by the crowd.    The problem Djokovic had related directly to the fact that he played no tournament tennis since the US Open and seems to be suffering from lack of match-fitness.

Rune was not all that good in beating  Altmaier the player ranked 47 in the world.    However he may beat Djokovic like he did in this tournament in 2022,  However,  this year his form has not remained as high as he used to be ranked

Alcaraz tested positive for Covid on court?

Nov 04, 2023, 00:59

I found this, but of course if he had Covid it might explain it:

On Tuesday, Carlos Alcaraz lost in straight sets to Roman Safiullin. Was it the best-played match of Safiullin’s career? Maybe. He won 6-3 6-4 even after being broken early in each set. Each time, Safiullin bounced back to break Alcaraz right back.

Carlos Alcaraz bounced in the second round of the Rolex Paris Masters

The issue wasn’t that Safiullin was playing so well – mind you, he clearly wasn’t playing badly – but that Alcaraz was hitting far too many unforced errors. Carlos Alcaraz just couldn’t seem to find a rhythm. Sure, he was a little rusty after missing a few weeks due to an injury, but that isn’t that long to be away from the game.

Plus, he looked basically the same way he has for months now. He isn’t dominating anyone the way he was earlier in 2023, often going to three sets even in the matches he wins. But against Safiullin at the Paris Masters, he didn’t even look like a top-10 player. He wasn’t overpowered, Safiullin didn’t do anything magical; The Russian simply wiped away the Spaniard as if Carlos Alcaraz was ranked No. 114.

Alcaraz was hoping to win the Rolex Paris Masters to set up an ATP Finals where he could battle Djokovic for year-end No. 1. That seems like a dream now and the way Carlos Alcaraz is playing he will be lucky to win a match in the year-end tournament. Shocking, really, and seemingly no easy fix for Alcaraz.

Mozart

I was repeating what the commentators said on court and that the medics tested his temperature first e his temperature - thy took a swab and it tested positive for Covid.- they also claimed he will not play any further  in the second set.

Mozart

I listened o the commentators on what theys aid.   I also think Alcaraz will not play any further tennis until January next year in Australia.

As to Djokovic he was very questionable in the ,amatches he played this year - all his matches wnt to 3 setters.    The top ranked player he played against was Rune - who has not won any tournament this year and is badly out of form.   He did win that one - but his antics on court caused him booed by the crowd.      Frankly Djokoivic was showing clearly that he. is not matchfit - having not layed any tournament tennis since the US Open.    He took 3 sets to beat Rune as well asnother 3 setter against Griespoor.

Looking at his performance I took note of him changing his shirt..   Djokovic who always had a "six-pack" and there is no sign of that anymore.    Look like he picked up some weight in the last two months.

He is playing Rublev next and I think he will have poblems in that match today.   I lay a bet that Rublev will beat him.

Congrats to  Doko/0vic winning  the Paris Open

This is the kind of rubbish you produced all year:

Frankly Djokoivic was showing clearly that he. is not matchfit - having not layed any tournament tennis since the US Open.    He took 3 sets to beat Rune as well asnother 3 setter against Griespoor.

Looking at his performance I took note of him changing his shirt..   Djokovic who always had a "six-pack" and there is no sign of that anymore.    Look like he picked up some weight in the last two months.

He is playing Rublev next and I think he will have poblems in that match today.   I lay a bet that Rublev will beat him.

…….

The Joker rubbed your nose in it week after week, and yet you start the new year with the same desperate need for him to fail. What a tit you are.

Why don't you read what D jokovic commnt on the match  against Rublev said -imbecile?    Mie was a commnt on the poential issue - Djokovic comments came after the match.

This is imbecilic and on par with  what you wrote on other topics on site.
