There are only 2 ATP rand 1 ATP 1000 tournaments to be played this year. That is followed by the New Generation and the End of Year Championships to be played this year. It would be interesting to see who are going to play in the 2 ATP 500 tournaments next week and whether Djokovic, Nadal and Zverev enter to play in those two torunaments and how the top 10 players divide themselves in the two ATP 500 torunaments. There is still only 5 or 6 players who can be relatively sure of playing in the EOY Championship?
The only certainty is that Carlos Alc araz will play in the Basel tournament.
I will probably be able to post the info on the Round 2 matches on Saturday,
Thedre is no certainty about Djokovic playing in the ATP1000 torunament in Paris starting on 31 October 2022. If that happens he would be on very thin ice when it comes to the EOY Champions Tournament in Turin later in February. His only hope then would be that neither Nadal and Zverev will be absent form the tournament. Both Norrie and Hurkacz damaged their chances of going to Turin by losing in the quarterfinals today.
