Lord's to pay tribute to Kallis
On the eve of the third Test between England and South Africa at The Oval, Lord's will host an evening celebrating the all-rounder's accolades on Wednesday, July 26.
Kallis, 41, is widely considered to be one of the greatest cricketers the game has ever seen and boasts over 25 000 runs and 577 wickets in his 19-year international cricketing career.
The event will help raise money for the Lord's Taverners, the UK's leading youth cricket and disability sports charity, and the Jacques Kallis Foundation, which gives youngsters from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to attend cricket-playing schools.
Kallis also took 273 wickets in those ODIs at an average of 31.79, conceding only 4.84 runs an over - and has won was man-of-the-match on 32 occasions.
Since retiring in 2014, Kallis has played for and coached the Kolkata Kn ight Riders in the Indian Premier League.
