Nadal has announced that he will NOT play in the Roland Garros tournament. That means he will not be in the top 100 players in the world as he would lose 2000 ranking points and will be left with only 445 points. That would leave him in position 136 in the world or even worse than that.
That is a huge loss for Roland Garros - but in his case recovery from injury problems is due to the age and physical fitness factors and he may be out of the game permanently or will play as a wild card entry in future tournaments.
This is not only a massive loss by the French Open tournament where he reigned supreme for so many years - it is a massive loss for World Tennis.
Aside from Nadal it is confirmed that of the top 32 ranked players Kyrgios will definitely not play at Roland Garros. Aside from him it is extremely unlikely that Cilic and Carreno Busta will actually play.
The big losses in ranking points will be -
* Ruud - losing 1200 points
* Cilic - losing 750 points
* Djokovic - losing 750 points.
