What would be the potential Quarterfinals in the French Open:-

*     Alcaraz       vs      Tsitsipas

*     Djokovic    vs      Rublev

*     Rune           vs      Ruud

*     Medvedev   vs      Sinner

Tsitsipas had very ordinary clay court season thus far and yesterday  - but he is a better player on clay so he would be a potential quarterfinalist.

Djokovic since winning the Australian Open has dropped down the rankings from no 1 in the world to number 3 - while Rublev has done well on clay and won the Monte Carlo Open - I would call that potential match a toss-up.

Rune will be a massive favorite to beat Ruud - whose clay court performances was horrible and he  even lost against Jarrie in Geneva yesterday.

Medvedev had a top class clay court season and Sinner has had an injury problem and his clay court season was on the average side.

Looking at the draw and performances on clay this year the semifinals could be between -

    *      Alcaraz against Rublev; and

    *      Medvedev against Rune.

The final potentially can be between Alcaraz and Medvedev.   If that be the case  the rankings going into  Wimbledon would look vastly different from what it is at present.   I would say the only way Djokovic would remain in the top 5 rankings for the  Wimbledon tournament will be a win over Rublev in the quarterfinal in the Roland Garros tournament.    Interesting scenario.   He potentially could be under threat from Rune and Tsitsipas could be under threat from Rublev.

However I do not have the live points at present and would indicate what the situation will be when that comes out tomorrow.
