Even if Djokovic paid the organizers he would not get an easier route than he did to the fina stages of the Tournament.
There are at present at least 16 qualifiers to be included in the main draw of the tournament and those should have been identified by today - but not even the Round 1 of the qualification matches has been completed - and that is to be followed by completion of the Round 1 matches - the finalization of the Round 2 matches and the finalization of the Round 3 matches over the weekend. The weather is playing havoc with the process and weather forecasts for tomorrow from a rain perspective is even worse for tomorrow than it was for today.

The Draw for the US Open will be announced on Thursday and I should be able to post it late on Thursday or on Friday,
I am posting the basic seedings to be sued in the draw - bearing in mind that players like Rune and Davoidovich Fokina may not play as a result of injuries sustained in Toronto. Here are the provisional seedings for the tournament:-

The departure of Rune in Round 1 was a real shocker. Not so surprising is the departure of Auger-Aliassime whose performances this year caused a decline from being ranked 7 at the start of this year to 15 or even lower this year. He is in horrible poor form this year.
Round 2 - 5 of 16 seeds lost their Round 2 matches
Started badly for Tsitsipas - he lost his match. Another 4 seeds inclusive of Ruud lost their Round 2 matches as well. The Round 2 matches iro the Top Half of the Draw must still be played - with 11 seeds involved. Only 1 of the seeded players lost their round 2 match
Round 3 No major losses going into Round 4 with the number of seeded players being 10. In the Top Half of the Draw there are 6 seeds left with Alcaraz and Rublev playing unseeded players. In the Bottom Half of the Draw there are 4 players left with all 4 seded players playing unseeded players, Intresting anough the lowest seeded player in the draw is no 14 There are 7 Top 10 and 3 players seeded 11 to 14 still in contention
Round 4 Jannik Snner is the surprising loss and Shelton moved into the Top 32 and is now ranked 27. Insodfar as the Top half of the draw is concerned there were 5 seeded players cobnsisting of 1,3,5,7,8 - in the case of the Bottom Part of the Draw it was 2,4,6,9 and 10, Aside from that the Top half of the Draw had 5 qualifiers - the bottom part had 11, I said initially that Djokovic will ahve a free run to the final and he played thus far had one seeded player and the semi he would again meet an unseeded player.
Quarterfinals - Djokovic beat the only seeded player he met in the tournament - Fritz - and is now set to play another unseeded player. Shelton beats Tiafoe. So of the 5 seeded players in the Bottom Half of the Draw only 1 player will be in the Semi-final. In the case of the bottom half of the Draw 4 of the 5 top 10 seeded players are in the Quarters.
