The tournament start on Monday 4 November 2024 and in reality is the second last major tournment this year affecting the final 8 players to play in Turin.

Novak Djokovic won both the Paris Masters and the NITTO Champions tournamnt in which only 8 qualifying players are allowed to play/    Djokovic has informed the organizrs he will not play in Paris and that has or may have 2 consequnces.   

Those are that - 

*   he will lose 1 000 ranking points meaning that he would end up in the number 6  or even lower ranking;  and

*    he may not qualify to play in the NITTO End of Year Championship in Turin where only 8 qualifying players are allowed to play.

If he misses out on the Turin NITTO Tournmanet - it would mean that he would have won no ATP tournament in 2024.   He won the Olympic Games Gold Medal but that is not a ATP tournament.

Djokovic did not give a reason why he is not playing in Paris. If he does not play in Turin he will be out of the Top 10 ranked players carryimg  forward to the Aussie Open in January 2025.

In Novembr 2023 he said that he will play tournament tennis as long as he is competitive - but in 2024  he was not - and one woders whether he is not goig to do wat Nadal did this year and play as a farewell message in a few tournaments of his choice next year,  

In such an event it would be a huge loss to world tennis.
