About 2 weeks ago I wrote on site that Carlos Alcaraz career started going worse after his father caused him to fire Juan-Carlos Ferrero as his coach , The signs were noticeable in decline in performances in torunaments and that he may go the same way as Tsitsipas did since he fired his coach - h e used to be the number 3 player in the World now he s t he n umber 66 ranked player in the World but is now ranked the nu,mber 66 player in the World,
The problem relates to player management and discipline. What happened now is that Alcaraz developed a wrist injury and was nominatned to play in torunaments, Yesterday it was announced that he cannot play in Barcelona - but withdrew from the tournament without playing a match.
The real nonsence started in the Indian Wells Tournament wh ere he lost and tenw ithdrew from playing in the Miami tournament - followed by the loss in Monte Carlo last week, So why was he nominated to pllay in Barcelona and not wtihdrew his nomination in time to allow for diisrupting the Tournament organization,
If that trend is continued it would mean decline in ranking at a rapid rate - simillar to what happened in the case of Tsitsipas,

In this case in t he top Half of the Draw t here is only 1 of 4 seeded players in the Tournament left - the 6 ranked player being Rublev who manage lo lose matches which he should have won regularly, Like in the case of Tsitsipas he dropped out of the top 10 ranked players - but not as badly as Tsitsipas did - he is at presebnt te nu,mber 15 player in t hew world, He still has to play his Round 2 match today against Sonego -
In the case of the bottom half of the draw there are 3 seeded players left, Two of the 3 players have not played their Round 2 matches and it is likely that the two will face each other in the Quarterfinals, The third seed involved - Cameron Norrie - will face Jodar in the Quarterfinals with a win being very unlikely.
