Tx Mike, will have a look at the card although I'm not too familiar with SAFFA horses.
Just as an aside, quite a few SAFFA jockeys out here now as well as a few Irish and English, Callan Murray was the latest to arrive,
he rides out of the country town of Geelong. Hasn't set the racing world on fire, neither has any of the others, Glyn was good but getting on in years.

Here is a bit of History on the Kings Plate:-
The King's Plate (known as the Queen's Plate during the reigns of Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II) is an annual Grade I horse race at Kenilworth Racecourse in Cape Town, South Africa that has been run since 1861, and is one of South Africa's premier horse races.[1] Currently sponsored by the South African vintner L'Ormarins, it was branded the L'Ormarins Queen's Plate from 2005 to 2022,[2] and the L'Ormarins King's Plate since 2022. Traditionally named in honour of the British monarch, it reverted to the "King's Plate" name as a result of the accession of King Charles III in September 2022.[1][3][4]
The race was first run, as the Queen's Plate, in April 1861 in honour of Queen Victoria after she donated a silver plate and 500 sovereigns to the South African Turf Club.[5]
The winner of the race earns a berth in the Breeders' Cup Mile.[citation needed]
It is customary for the British high commissioner to South Africa to attend the race and read out a message of good wishes from the British monarch."
l"Ormanns Wine Farm belonged to Anton Rupert and as in hsi will left to Johan Rupert's ounger brother brother.
Following his younger brother Anthonij's death in a car accident in 2001 he took over the L'Ormarins wine estate. Anthonij, was head of Rupert & Rothschild Vignerons. Rupert initiated a project to enhance the farm in memory of his late brother. Part of that enhancements relates to horseracing wih his wife and sister ebeing he brededers at their Drakenstein Stud Fam\
The old story of Money going after money is really true, Frans Malherbe's grandfather had two twin sisters who became teachers and moved to Durban. The one got married - but her husband died and left her 10 000 pounds. The other one never got married, When Anton Rupert tried to raise money to start Rembrand in the 1930 the two sisters bought shares to the tune of 10 000 pound and for years seved on the Board of Rembrand. In the 1960's the two old sistes moved to Still Bay and used to walk around town and beg people to help them with bread and other food - since they had no money - that while the two could have bought out all the homes in Still Bay and would still have millions to spare. Funny crowd that lot.
