To start with there were 32 seeded players. After Round 1 of the 32 seeded players there are the following remain:-

  1. Top Haff of the Draw - 11
  2. Bottom Half of the Draw - 11

So ten seeds lost out in Round 1 and more seeds are likely to fail n Round 2 starting tomorrow.

I think insofar as seeds are concerned today was the worst ever performances by seeded players In the history of Roland Garros

Each of the two halves of he draw started off with 16 seeded players:

After completion of Round 2 th e emainin g seeds are as follows:

  1. Top Half the Draw: - 6 seeded players
  2. Bottom Half of the Draw - 10 seeded players.

W ho is going to win? Forecast - Rafael Jodar and that is where R100 is going. ,

ROUND 4

Top Half of the Draw

Juan Manuel Cerundolo vs Matteo Berrenttini

19 Frances Tiafoe vs Mattea Arnaldi

4 Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Alejandro Tabilo

10 Flavio Cobolli vs Zachary Zvajda

Two matches completed 2 seeds gone. After this round there will only be at most 3 of t he original 16 seeds left .

Bottom Half of the Draw

11 Andrey Rublev vs 26 Jakub Mensik

15 Casper Ruud vs 29 Joao Fonseca

27 Rafael Jodar vs Pablo Correno-Busta

2 Alexander Zverev vs Jesper de Jong

Yesterday was a disaster day for the Top Half seeds = today was the day of long matches played coupled to some disasters for the seeds. The following will clarify it:-

  1. 3 set matches played - 1
  2. 4 set matches played - 3
  3. 5 set matches played - 4

May 29, 2026, 14:49

If Jodar gets through he faces Carrena Busta who looks very solid, in a tough next round. Very odd French going forward without Sinner and Alcaraz. This is Zverev’s big chance and maybe the Joker.

May 29, 2026, 17:38

Mozart

I have been watching Jodar closely - he is an excellent player - but he needs to up his serving. Carreno=Busta is a has been and he got to Round 4 by sheer luck.

QUARTERFINALS

Top Half of the Draw

Mattea Arnaldi vs Matteo Berrenttini

4 Felix Auger-Aliassime vs 10 Flavio Cobolli

Bottom Half of the Draw

2 Alexander Zverev vs 27 Rafael Jodar

26 Jakub Mensik vs 29 Joao Fonseca

May 31, 2026, 09:12

Today the Round 3 matches in the bottom half of the draw will be played. I am certain that Zverev and Jodar will beat their opponents - but the other two matches will be humdingers,

Rublev played Mensik each other twice before - and Mensik won both matches, But the two matches played was not on hard courts and not clay, There is another factor and that is the psychological factor thatr is playing havoc in the case of Rublev resulting in losing matches he should have won. The bookmakers could no find the winner in this case - but I think Mensik could win that one..

The other match is equally difficult to predict. Ruud has been up and down thus far this year and dropped out of top 20 ranking as a result and he is facing one of the bright stars of the fiuture namely Fonseca.

What is clear though is that the ultimate tournament winner will come from whomsoever wins their matches today since the Top Half of the Draw situation is a joke at present,

I still like Mensik but I'm now a Jodar fan.

Man is he intense or what?

Watching this guy it's hard not to see him winning Grand Slam titles.

Also, when a sportsman thumbs up a good shot played by his opponent, then I like that sportsman. I'm officially a big fan.

May 31, 2026, 15:27

I have the kiss of death.

Jodar suddenly 2 sets down since I said how good he was.

I wish I could monetize this superpower I have.

May 31, 2026, 17:11

Fortunately Rooi you gave Jodar the kiss of death after two sets. I could see Busta clutch his shoulder almost immediately. Jodar also was suddenly more alert, getting more depth on his groundies.

Mike’s $5 bet on Jodar winning the French is still alive

Are there any stocks you want to declare as buys, I’m up for a short position on any of those?

May 31, 2026, 17:20

Not R5 Mozart - a R100. Jodar h as one problem and t hat .is his serving - he nearly destroyed himself in the first two sets and then hit bac with vengeance/

I still think he needs a proper coach - not his father,

Whomsoever win the quarterfinal between Zverev and Jodar will win the Tournament,

May 31, 2026, 17:48

I stand corrected $6.35 bet. His rally depth was an issue today…a bit too conservative. Alcaraz and Sinner would gobble that up.

May 31, 2026, 19:25

With all the absentees, Mensik vs Rublev could have been a good final. Big game here and the winner could go on to benefit from all the upsets.

May 31, 2026, 19:40

Sorry Mozart

The exchange rate is why so many foreigners moved to SA, I met some American tourists in Riversdale and they told me for them SA is dirt cheap/ So $6 buys about what cost $20 in the USA.

So as a pensioner R100 is a lot op money. I will give you an example I spent R3 500 on our monthly food bill. It includes meat and everything else needed, In the USA what I bought would have costed more than $800. MY deep freeze is filled to the top with frozen meet. fish, prawns, etc and vegges and also a 4 kg ice cream container,

Things are expensive for the poor and I include myself in t hat category with a net income of about $2 500 a month.

May 31, 2026, 23:33

Mike the produce you get, particularly the fruit, is better than anything we get in the States regardless of price.

Jun 01, 2026, 00:10

$2500 or R2500 ??

SEMIFINALS

2 Alexander Zverev vs 26 Jakub Mensik

10 Flavio Cobolli vs Mattea Arnaldl/Matteo Berrenttini

The Top Half of the Draw quarterfinals is indeed a joke in bad taste; Most of the players except Cobolli ;involved are have beens or never have beens,

At least the Bottom of the Draw consists of 3 youngsters that is set to be top performers in future - all of them at least ae in the top 32 rankings and are potential Top[ Ten rankings candidates,

,

Jun 02, 2026, 20:40

Geez Mike Jodar and your R100 are gone….who are you picking now?

Jun 03, 2026, 20:00

I sincerely hope this is not another kiss of death but I think Mensik will beat Zverev and beat the Italian finalist as well.

Cobbolli very likeable though.

Jun 03, 2026, 20:26

Mensik was very solid yesterday and Zverev was untouchable once he got his first serve working. That match may be the decider

Jun 03, 2026, 22:46

FINAL

2 Alexander Zverev vs 10 Flavio Cobolli
