Boks Deliver Strong 1st-half showing vs Wales

I was impressed with the play in the first half - and the Boks even scored a backline try off 1st phase possession by putting the ball through the hands.

There were lots of new combinations- as well as players. Everything clicked in the beginning, but I suspect this Wales team is their worst in over 15 years. Certainly the start of a rebuilding phase, they looked way off the pace in the first half. While the Boks were playing well, they also seemed to be playing badly.

The rucks were strong creating lots of space for the Boks. The forwards were running onto the ball at pace hitting the line flat.

The lineout looked a bit better. The scrum was strong, with Thomas Dutank at loosehead.

Jaden Hendrikse looked good with so much space, but his brother Jordan was at best average.

There were still too many passing errors amongst the backs in the first half. In the 2nd half, it seemed to spread to the forwards as well.

The midfield was quiet with Pollard replacing Delande in the 4th quarter.
Fassi was good, but the Welsh did not close down space very well on attack.

The Boks lacked continuity in the 2nd half. Not sure if they just tried to overrun the ball, instead of building phases to create space as they did in the 1st half

You never mentioned MOM Mostert.

That is true, he was good. He opened the try scoring with that well-timed run onto the flat pass by Jaden Hendrikse.

I thought Hendrikse's timing looked good. and he seemed acutely aware of the players around him,

Sometimes scrumhalfs lose some visibility at the ruck when going through the motion to pass. From when to put his hands in the ruck, when to pick up the ball, and when to stand up straight and turn before passing.

Mighty Mostert's 50th Bok cap in starting 15.

Springboks player ratings: ‘Brutal’ South Africa pack ‘obliterate’ Wales as backs ‘dazzle’ in an emphatic end to the year

12 Damian de Allende: Always tipped by his Springboks teammates as the most underrated player and today he showed why they believe that. He threw a great long pass to set up Arendse’s try and gained over 50 metres in a brilliant attacking shift. He defended well too on the odd occasion he had to. He also produced a great cross-kick that almost resulted in a try if it weren’t for a great bit of defence from Blair Murray. 8

LOL. Who are these people and what are they watching? Fassi threw the long scoring pass for Arendse.

1. Thomas du Toit - 7

"Struggled initially to get to grips with Archie Griffin at scrum time but grew into the contest as time progressed. Once comfortable, du Toit and his front-row buddies walked over to their Welsh counterparts. In open play, the Bath star was his usual brilliant self and, if anything, looked a bit fresher playing in the loosehead role."

3. Wilco Louw - 8

"Simply obliterated Nicky Smith at scrum time, albeit it wasn't entirely the Welsh loosehead's fault. When he departed in the 46th minute, Louw had overseen a near-perfect day at set piece time to go with his 2 carries, 6 tackles and 2 defenders beaten. All in all, it was a good day for 144kg Vodacom Bull."

Blob do you maybe know where I can get full game pls?
