0-19 in the 8th minute....
LOL, now an intercept by the slowest 14 I've ever seen and another try. Willie throwing the pass?
Hallo Draad. 21-0
What a disastrous start from da bools!
Great turnover by the Ball Tickler.
0-21 9th minute
Bools jersy looks closer to a Stormers jumper than the traditional Bulle kit.
Howzit lads...Bools on the board?
Nice crash ball by Jacobs and Rudolph as ever on hand to score. Ref wants to check something.
What are they wasting time for. It's a try to da bools.
It's a try to boooools!!!!
Try stands! 5-22...ref nitpicking to try and find a reason not to award the try.
Finally they give it. 7-21
7-21
Terrible boxie by Papier costs the Bulls a penalty. 5m lineout, right back under the gun.
Bulls are fast asleep.
Ridiculously easy try for Bristol. Geez, Bulls can't even defend a simple wraparound. 7-28
Poms will get tired in the heat at altitude, but how far will they be ahead by that time.?...7-28.
Another try to Bears.
Making monkeys if the Bulls. It's truly pathetic.
Still time to come back but Bulls playing very poorly.
Ravroomvroom beats 3 Bulls.
Rudolph gold again with the tap on to Jacobs for the try.
12-28
Now that looks much better.
Rudolf stars again great quick pass.
14-28
Only 20 minutes and six tries already
Scorching hot in Cape Town today...luckily no rugby here today.
Ravouvou is impressive on the left wing…good hands for the try….Fiji keeps producing these backs
Ref is full of it.
Great finish by Heward. Jacobs badly stood up there. Superb conversion, 14-35.
Bulls backline very poor. Bears score again!
That may be a world record for body distance in touch and still scoring the try.
LOL, Bristol 3 into a gap and makes 30 meters. Lucky for the Bulls Heward has no pace and his kick infield goes into Bulls hands.
Another try Bristol. They're doing simple things really well. Ref checking for forward. Or maybe not, sounded like that with his thick accent. 14-42.
It’s all Jake’s fault….another really poor defensive effort.
After 26 minutes Bulls are losing 14 to 42!!!
Great try for Bulls.
The defense of the Bulls is shocking
Great ball Pollard to Jacobs who takes it beautifully behind him. Bristol defense equally suspect, that was so easy. 21-42
No defense by the Bulls - loose and poor passing as well. In fact a shit disgrace of SA Rugby,
Jacob’s shows any reception Vouvou can pull off, he can too.
Will altitude and heat save tbe Bulls?
Bulls appear to be waking up.
Bears looking a little tired?
Important steal for the Bears.
That looked like a deliberate tap into touch.
Penalty try Bulls, yellow Bristol. Well weighted grubber by Vorster to set it up.
Great Penalty try and yellow against Bears.
42-28 Bears lead.
Rudolph wins the penalty. Guy is turning into a Anton Leonard like talisman for the Bulls.
Rudolph again
Incredible Bears try
Pollard drops Wiese's pass and Bristol gathers. Heward finally showing some pace to outrun Papier to the ball.
14 point swing as Bulls foul up
28-47 half time. Bulls will need the heat and altitude to scratch this one back, yes.
Igo for a dip in the pool and another 4 tries are scored in the last 15m of the 1st half. WTH?
That's what loafing around during a match thread gets you, Draad.
And the circus is about to resume for the second half.
Go bools, it's not too late!
Stay calm and keep it tight.
Nice try Bools!
Great try Bulls, interplay between Willie and Seb, then the space for Vorster and he puts Kriel away.
35-47
Bears back to 15 men, Bulls did well to take advantage.
Bools scrum...make it work for us boys.
Not...penalty against them.
Another grubber kicked too far….Willie playing well today
Rudolph with a strong tackle disrupting the Bears' momentum.
Nice work Willie, good clearance.
The ref is a confusion!
Bulls starting to pull last week's antics - Pollard with a roly poly pass and then Rudolph with a knock.
The ref is a confusion!
Oui!
Pollard now with a nice break to help the Bulls run it all the way from their tryline into the Bears 22. The Ball Tickler tosses an offload into Bears hands to end it all though, Bulls all the way back in their 22 again.
Heward beating Kriel way too easily.
Genge into the gap, almost goes all the way and probably should have fed his support. Willie gets yellow.
Quick hands with the tappy and Bristol scores.35-54
35-54....damn Boools!!!
To think one unnecessary offload from Wessels when the Bulls had fought their way to the Bristol 22 indirectly led to that try. Sometimes you just need to calm down a bit and build instead of the 50/50 stuff.
And another for Bristol. Ravroomvroom over. The bounce was favourable but great exploitation of Willie's absence.
Great counter ruck Rudolph-h…but another crazy try for the Bears.
Mullet Janse van Rensburg has been pretty anonymous for Bristol.
Well at least these Bulls are better than Jake's lot, eh?
Right?
Ackerman looks fit enough to still be in there, amazing that man never had a great Bok career.
Vast improvement Pakie!
Akker die rakker is on.
Lane possibly over. I would have fed Vroomvroom if I was him, they'll be kicking themselves if they botched that.
Rudolph gets a little boot in there to dislodge the ball. No try. Vroomvroom was the option.
Fortuitous boot saves the Bools there
Ackerman aging an hour for each minute out there.
Haha, Randall almost scores a crazy try but Pollard might just have gotten a hand to it first. Yeah not even close but another bonkers passage of play in this game.
Hak hak...hoes hoes!!! Can't believe I wasted my time...should have stayed in the pool...
Pollard is done. This must be the worst I've ever seen him play. And braindead from Bulls in general. Speeding up the game when they've got a man in the bin. Willie a liability this week so he'll probably be gold next week. Shambolic.
As far as entertainment goes this is the exact opposite of the Bulls/Stormers quagmire last week. It's very loose but it's fun.
Bools scrum doing better now Steenekamp has replaced Wessels…who is a hooker.
Willie has actually been good before his yellow, Xavi.
Bools scrum doing better now Steenekamp has replaced Wessels…who is a hooker.
A hooker of balls.
And Polly now misses touch with the penalty. Just needed the bounce to be fair but better to put it straight out.
Pollard blunders again. These old Boks should be playing in Japan….they have a few games in them, not the week after week pressure of the URC
Rudolph with a nice inside ball and then a big clean at the following breakdown.
It had to happen….a try off the corner flag,
And Seb scores another try right on par with some of the bizarre stuff in this game. Ball bounces off the corner post back infield.
Rudolph is so much more impressive and productive than his two Bok loosie partners.
Pakie, he threw the intercept for BB 3rd try. Even this last try was more luck than his kick and his passing has been wayward. Two to the ground and not at anybody.
And as I type this he goes over for a try. Figures.
Game on….again.
Another forward lumbers into acres of space, then the prop runs furthers and feeds Willie to score. What a strange game, tight forwards making 30m line breaks to feed props to give backs the try. 49-61
Rudolph again first to the breakdown to clear the ball for the Bulls.
Incredible ankle tap
Gumede one ankle tap away from scoring down the left.
Dammit, my stupid internet.
Sounds like a fun game
Bit circussy Plummie but very entertaining, some good rugby too despite how loose it is.
Gumede one placement short of scoring, Bulls held up, all over. 110 points, fun stuff.
Disappointing for the Bools but some amazing tries and maybe the best ankle tap I have seen.
Nothing saved the Bulls - their ball skills and defense was piss poor. Their backline was malfunctioning and even Pollard was disappointing. - the Bulls are at present going nowhere fast.
Frustrating to watch at times with the errors but a high scoring affair. More than a point a minute.
Poor from the springboks in that team. Rudolph and Gumede impressive. Nortje looked fucked from the 2nd minute but was still running at the end like always.
Mpot6hjing saved trhe Bulls
Who the hell is he?
Pakie, he threw the intercept for BB 3rd try. Even this last try was more luck than his kick and his passing has been wayward. Two to the ground and not at anybody.
Ja fair enough X, did some good things too but I guess a mixed bag is the best it gets for him nowadays.
Typing errors corrected.
My question what kind pf game that was rugby - - it was not rugby at all - it was plain BS,
Got frustrated at the wayward Bulls throwing the game away so went for a run.
Watching the Lions who are playing smarter rugby.
Yes Wessels is primarily a Hooker who can play loose head.
Lions playing some good rugby, much less frustrating when you're not chasing the game.
I like the Lions 7...
The best 12 on display this year thus far was Mills for he Lions - the others range from shit to supershit, Granted he Stormers had serious center injury issues - yet they still won their matches, Both the Bulls and Sharks backlines malfunctioned this year - iro defense and attack,
The only funcional backline play - incorporating the loosies as well - were the Springboks, the Stiormers and the Lions in that order, The Bulls and Sharks were supershit at best.
The best 12 on display this year thus far was Mills for he Lions
The one who tossed an intercept pass on his own line on Saturday, then got run over by Lyon 22 which directly led to another score for them? 12 points on his watch right there. Boy's got a long way to go.
Watch out for a Lions back three of Batho, Venter and Horn...
Might not be world beaters right now but that's a talented back three so a great opportunity for the three of them be noticed. The prospect of Venter and Batho together is a nightmare and Horn is a smart foil for them while giving away nothing in size or strength.
Great opportunity.
Could only watch the highlights but it looks like Rezo and Crappies also had good games. Love that crappies is pulling away from the other SA 9s right now. The fact him and Hashim are together is also a massive plus for both of them.
But he created more attack opportuntiies despite rare mistakes than Esterhuizen has done in 10 years of failure, Voster was shit and the Stormers had center injuries this season.
Lions have one current Bok. I think they do well with their talent whilst the Bulls and Sharks definitely don't.
Good luck to the Lions.
