The song, Bitter Sweet Symphony by the Verve:)
Cheslin can run magnificent lines and a nightmare for any defence.
Jonah Lomu?
Moffie desperately looking for alternatives . . . because he once claimed Cheslin was too small for test rugby.
LMAO!
Kolbe is certainly one of the best, if not the best. It is hard to not include Christian Cullen in the same breath. Kolbe is more unpredictable and can side step in a phone booth, but Cullen was
Peeper like a bad odor seeps in and tries to start another spat.
I don't much see a point in trying to pinpoint "the best". Enjoy each player on their own merits. I can enjoy Kolbe as much as I can enjoy Cullen, Robinson, Arendse or any of the other great runners in rugby past and present.
A real little legend. That step to embarrass OF in the WC final is probably one of my favourite scores ever.
For sure a Bok great.
Nobody can compare with the running skills. I mean nobody.
Now we have ou Pakster trying to suggest Arendse is some sort of equivalent. Hahahahaha. What poor Judgement.
Attended is a different type of winger to Cheslin.
But he does have a better try scoring ration than Kolbe.
Kolbe had a better year in 2024 than Arendse did.
Arendse will only score more tries if set up better than Kolbe.
Arendse doesn't score the type of tries Kolbe does. He doesn't have that level of running skill. Not nearly.
Arendse is a poor man's Kolbe.
Arendse is a great finisher.
Cheslin is a great finisher and he's a creator.
There's the difference.
Also, note how during games Arendse pretty much sticks to his left wing while Cheslin pops up all over the place looking for work.
I like Kurt-Lee Arendse a lot but Cheslin Kolbe is next level.
Yes indeed Kolbe is next level. His kicking game is great, His taking of the high ball is great especially for a short guy. He is good on defence and he reads the game very well and works very hard. great contributor!
Christian Cullen was the best. He had such a great swerve on him and never slowed down. Could just glide and cut through teams. When he got the ball he could just see the field and new how to throw defenders off. He was so quick and so hard to stop.
I agree that Kolbe work rate 2nd to none. Different era with these two players. Would Cullen be as effective now that the teams have become so defensive and players are better conditioned, who knows.
Based on pure running and effectiveness, Cullen any day.

I have been watching THE RWC games again and tests this year.
The contribution of Cheslin Kolbe has been immense.
Has there ever been anybody who can run like this guy?
Look at this example.
Cheslin Kolbe
