Haha we called it.

Damn, that one in the first round was on point.

Haney is a paper tiger after all. I like Garcia. He's always been a bit cocky but managed to remain likeable throughout.

So I guess Tank is probably the king of the division of for the next few years.

Garcia looks much more composed than against tank…he was rushing against Davies and got hit…his movement and patients in the Haney fight, allowed the gaps to open and the rest is history….let’s see who comes next, most probably Haney rematch ….what do you guys think about the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Fight/Exhibition ? Jake has always picked older fighters so he can look better than he actually is….Hope tyson will knock him out and shut him up for good.

I hope Tyson KOs him and puts an end to the farce. Tyson may be old but I bet he's still got more than enough power to put Jake to sleep.

Jake has been doing this for years now and training like a pro, so why doesn't he start fighting actual pros? He'd get more respect that way.

Exactly Plum…I think he should set up a fight with Francis Ngannou who already almost caused a upset vs Fury, but was then viciously knocked out by Joshua….then we will really see where he is at….stop pretending and follow the right route like you say, and fight pros….imagine what Joshua would do to him…big time ouch :)

...or Canelo.

There was briefly some talk about that. But when they asked Saul, he said "Don't play with me."

Boxing falls under Other Sports - not under rugby.

Yes, because rugby is so exciting right!

We had better not take up valuable space.

Yeah Plum, knocked Haney down 3 times..... man, that was a fight

Garcia has said that he would rematch Davis, but only at a catchweight because he himself is moving up to 147.

Ryan said his body just cannot keep making weight at 140, so he is definitely moving up and would like to fight Tank again, but higher up.

When he fought Tank there was that rehydration clause which has a huge impact on one's performance, but higher up and he won't have that issue.

How that ref deducted one point from Garcia without any prior warnings was just ridiculous, and how Haney never got docked a point for the constant hugging and hanging on is also crazy

Apr 22, 2024, 10:35

Lol Haney looked like a drunk person hanging onto a bus stop at one point.

I think the deduction was fine though, since that type of offence doesn't usually get a warning. It's normally a straight deduction. Saying that, the ref seemed to be giving Haney too much time to recover at moments.

The left hook in the first round though!!! Haney was scared of it for the rest for the fight. His face in slow-mo after he eats that shot, those eyes got very big. To be fair, he knew that shot is Garcia's bread and butter so was likely hyper focused on it, and to still be caught with it must be a bit terrifying, especially that early in the fight and with that much power.

I do think Garcia got a little bit too wild at times where some composure may have seen him put Haney away more clinically. He had him right there and then let him off the hook by getting in too close and throwing a bunch of soft wild shots.

I think Tank would struggle if he moves up. But nobody has ever really bothered him, so maybe he'll be up for the challenge. I do find it crazy that with so many boxers around, there is always talk about guys moving up and down weights. Like Canelo going up to LHW...I mean, what the hell, he's 173cm!?

But yeah, fight of 2024 so far. And it's the result I wanted.

Roll on August for Dricus vs Izzy!!!

Apr 22, 2024, 12:16

Dricus is a beast, but Izzy is a dangerous fighter especially with his kicks….he should not underestimate him.

Apr 22, 2024, 13:51

Yep, Izzy will keep a distance and strike from the outside.... especially with his kicks....but Dricus will get inside and make it ugly, just like he always does, and don't be surprised to see Dricus attempt to take it to the ground numerous times.

Apr 22, 2024, 15:11

Dricus won't let him stay on the outside.

Remember how Izzy took Costa apart? I very much doubt Dricus' team will be trying that strat.

They know Izzy likes to kick until you get frustrated and then counter when you come in.

I feel like Dricus is gonna be trying to counter kicks with takedowns. I think he's gonna switch stances, make Izzy kick off his weak foot, and then take Izzy down.

If it does go to the ground, Izzy is toast!

Apr 23, 2024, 06:47

Yep, fully agreed

I see they're talking Garcia vs Lopes.

A nice matchup.
