.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:12

Bishy bashy start from England.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:16

Irish rumbling, running some nice lines. Lowe fluffs it on the touchline, drops it cold.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:17

Who do you want to win. I hate both teams. Part of me England, I just want this Irish team to implode as they are a real threat to SA

Feb 21, 2026, 16:17

Will furlong air take off again?

Feb 21, 2026, 16:21

Ireland all over it at the moment. I won't mind the Irish winning but I don't care either way.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:23

Ford misses touch with the penalty, 5m lineout gone for England.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:24

Ford screws up and being too greedy with the penalty.

I see Pretender has been replaced this week.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:24

Ollie Lawrence with an impact already.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:25

And England knocks after a long period of attack.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:25

England batter the line but eventually screw up and Ireland clear

Feb 21, 2026, 16:26

Ollie Lawrence is the real deal.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:27

Jeez, frantic stuff but not very accurate on either side.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:28

That ball should have gone wider sooner, but instead diagonal running and it gets squeezed into touch

Feb 21, 2026, 16:28

Pollock looks lost, game to fast and intense for him

Feb 21, 2026, 16:29

Frantic from both sides.

England need to rumble Ireland up the middle. Thats where they're weak.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:30

Irish getting smashed in the scrum again.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:30

Ireland scrum in deep shit already

I think we broke them

Feb 21, 2026, 16:30

Ford fucks the penalty again, lol.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:31

FFS Ford screws up another penalty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feb 21, 2026, 16:31

Pollock way in front of the kicker there.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:33

Pretty sure Pollock got up in that tackle while being held. England loses it an they have to restart again from halfway.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:34

Lots of progress and phases from England only to screw it up again because they refuse to use their forwards and rumble over.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:35

George is a calamity

Feb 21, 2026, 16:35

Lowe pulled something it seems, he's off.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:35

Shit, is Lowe going off??? That's a big blow for Ireland

Feb 21, 2026, 16:35

Calamity George, nice ring to it.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:36

England butchered a try scoring chance, on the line and then handling letting them down

Feb 21, 2026, 16:36

Baloucoune with a nice run, O'Brien just about steps himself to a standstill.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:36

JGP with the tappy tap and he scores.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:37

Great play by Ireland. Surge up field by O'Brian. Shift the ball to the other side and gets penalty and Gibson quick thinking takes tap and scores in the corner

Feb 21, 2026, 16:37

Great move off the scrum from Ireland to win 50m

They win a penalty just outside the English 5m and JGP quick taps and opening at the corner.

All of that from a set move from the scrum.

Nice stuff from Ireland

Feb 21, 2026, 16:37

10-0 Ireland

Feb 21, 2026, 16:38

And after all the English pressure…..Ireland score.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:38

Note to Borters - Marcus is on the bench, dude.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:39

One of the Irish players had my name...though his surname is my first name.

...how dare he!?

Feb 21, 2026, 16:41

Does England look like they're struggling for confidence a bit? Did Scotland break them?

Feb 21, 2026, 16:41

Ireland with a chance to go 13 points clear...

He shanks it...

10-0

Feb 21, 2026, 16:42

What the hell? Penalty for what? Both competed. Farcical decision. That was a try for JGP.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:43

This ref is shit, hard call, almost a 2nd try for Gibson. That was a fair contest

Feb 21, 2026, 16:45

Tommy with a sweet take. McCloskey through, almost gets there. JGP to Baloucoune and over.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:45

Weak defense Ollie.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:46

Wow, what a try, big 12 breaks the line, pulled down 5 meters, Gibson keeps his head and get the ball to the winger. Well played Ireland

Feb 21, 2026, 16:46

England knocked back on their heels, looking punch drunk

Feb 21, 2026, 16:46

Now a yellow for their troubles, Steward in the bin

Feb 21, 2026, 16:46

Freddie off with yellow for cynical play.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:47

Lawrence misses a tackle in midfield as he tries a DDA hug tackle.

...and Ireland are in again.

Stewart off for playing the 9.

Double hit hit for the Poms.

Another miss for Crawley from the tee

15-0

Feb 21, 2026, 16:47

"though his surname is my first name."

Doris?

Ringrose?

O'Toole?

Tell me if I'm getting warm.

Come on England.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:48

Another breakout by Ireland, Van der Flier into the gap, some wrong options from there and it ends with Crowley kicking a poor one into the 22 for England to mark.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:48

Ireland break again directly from the kickoff

Stupid Italian ref is down...Gay!

Feb 21, 2026, 16:48

Oh no, will we see the ref getting sub. Knee gone , haven't see this for a while

Feb 21, 2026, 16:49

Ref is broken, goes off for repairs.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:49

Pollock is quite fast.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:50

I think Plummie's name is Doris and I'm sticking to it.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:51

Pollock is quite fast?

I think he's possibly the quickest forward in Test rugby atm

Feb 21, 2026, 16:51

Pollock is quite fast.

He is, seen some of his videos at junior level, proper pace.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:52

Ireland has found a proper wing in Baloucoune. He puts O'Brien away.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:52

Dingwallus fast asleep in the defensive line there.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:52

England getting hammered as O'Brien gets a well deserved score.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:53

This O'Brien will play well over 100 tests for Ireland

Feb 21, 2026, 16:54

England looking like circa 2023.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:54

"I think Plummie's name is Doris and I'm sticking to it."

Doris Norris...Chuck is my dad

Feb 21, 2026, 16:56

Those two missed penalty touches by Ford may have had a significant impact. Two chances at scoring just tossed away early on. JGP's tap try set the tone from there.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:57

Turnover ball by Pollock, England attack, fluffs it again and Ireland has it.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:58

Ford gets space and does nothing of value other than a poorly timed pass. Bore-Thick's teams deserve to get punished.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:58

Yet Marcus remains on the bench.

Feb 21, 2026, 16:59

England needs to score now

Feb 21, 2026, 17:00

That ruck was formed...but Ireland get the penalty regardless

Feb 21, 2026, 17:00

Freddie back, not sure anyone will notice.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:02

Earls at #7 and Pollock at #8 is also a big question mark for me.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:02

Nothing like watching forwards chase each other for 50m hahaha

Feb 21, 2026, 17:02

Ollie lucky not to get penalized there for jumping into the tackle.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:02

Nothing like watching forwards chase each other for 50m hahaha

And then getting called back.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:03

Marcus on at 15 for Freddie.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:03

Marcus warming up...

Feb 21, 2026, 17:03

England did so many good things but not the important thing which is to convert it all into points.

Their lack of patience hurt them more than anything else in this half

Feb 21, 2026, 17:04

Bore-Thick brings on Marcus . . . but at fullback.

England finally get a try through Dingwall. Very patient build up.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:05

Marcus with the little pause and show puts England over eventually.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:05

England needs this score...they go and go and and eventually Smith puts Dingwall in.

Game on

Feb 21, 2026, 17:06

22-7 HT. All Ireland but a sniff there for England.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:11

How are England not selecting Marcus at 10?

I don't get it.

Ford is gritty and gives it everything but he has less Xfactor than a turd.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:12

Nice to see so many of you on a match thread anyway.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:16

Twickers looks like a home game for Ireland....bunch of Paddies and the Guinness logos everywhere.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:21

2nd half...Cumon Marcus

Feb 21, 2026, 17:22

"Nice to see so many of you on a match thread anyway."

Nice to have company while watching a match alone...and sometimes I actually prefer this company to the actual company...but that would be rude to the actual company ;-)

Feb 21, 2026, 17:23

Pollock off with a yellow. That's probably the game.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:24

Doris cuts open the England defense, JGP goes for the line, might have let it go to the numbers next to him. Held up, Pollock yellow.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:24

Oops...

Feb 21, 2026, 17:25

Sheehan over. Nice to see something else than just bash and bash, Ireland actually using some deception and hands.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:25

Doris straight through...

zero defence from England

Pollock eats a yellow

Ireland go for the tap on the English 5m

a few phases and Ireland go over

Thats probably the game

Feb 21, 2026, 17:26

Suiker kannie in Pollock se mond smelt nie...but how was that clean out legal?

Feb 21, 2026, 17:26

Crowley's radar starts working, 29-7.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:26

If England defend like this against us we're gonna batter the daylights out of them

Feb 21, 2026, 17:27

LOL, Temu Henry giving the ref a piece of his mind and costs England 10m more in the penalty.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:28

And Ireland are back in England's 22....again

Feb 21, 2026, 17:33

Calamity George now gets the 5m lineout for England.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:34

England are some, so much for revival. They were all cock and hoop at the end of last year claiming they are the best and would beat SA hands down

Feb 21, 2026, 17:35

England now with a chance to make some inroads as they have a lineout on the Irish 5m

maul...and England get penalised

Feb 21, 2026, 17:35

Croc roll England, Ireland can clear.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:37

McCloskey gets away with a shoulder hit there. Or was that the penalty?

Feb 21, 2026, 17:38

Nice try England, Lawrence over and yellow Ireland.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:39

Another English lineout in Ireland's 22....

Pollock with a nice fend and offload

Eventually Ollie Lawrence gets it in miles of space and goes over.

...and Ireland eat a yellow.

25 minutes to go

14-29

Feb 21, 2026, 17:41

Dingwallus drops it as England looked about to break out.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:41

England trying to force the issue now.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:45

32-14

Feb 21, 2026, 17:46

Oh FFS...now Ford gets held up.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:46

Ford monstered and held up. Ireland ball.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:47

McCloskey did well to get into the line and cut off the pass.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:49

Beautiful ball from Marcus to Pollock gets the man over, Freeman not the pace to get there and the cover gets him.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:49

Nice delayed pass by Marcus to Pollock who set Freeman off on the wing but he stupidly doesn't cut back in and is bundled into touch

Feb 21, 2026, 17:50

England needs some vavavoom on the wings.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:52

England sealing off, penalty in front. 35-14

Feb 21, 2026, 17:52

Another penalty to Ireland and 3 more points...

35-14

Feb 21, 2026, 17:54

Ireland turnover, JGP kicks ahead, Marcus isolated, Ireland penalty.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:56

Osborne over. Ireland doing about as they please now.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:56

And other penalty as Marcus gets isolated on his try line from a JGP dink ahead

Ireland maul...

Phases on England's line.

and more phases

and Osborne goes over.

and that's enough for me.

Somebody will need to console Becs

Feb 21, 2026, 17:57

Cheers Paks...I'm off to burn my England jersey

Feb 21, 2026, 17:59

England turned over again. Just not getting to the breakdowns.

Feb 21, 2026, 17:59

Cheers Doris, use it to start 'n braaivuurtjie my broer.

Feb 21, 2026, 18:01

Geeze where has this guy Mcloscy been, run down Marcus Smith. Great pace for a big lug like him

Feb 21, 2026, 18:01

Damn, Marcus intercept but don't have the pace to go all the way. Great read by Marcus but not too fast is he.

Feb 21, 2026, 18:03

Underhill over for England.

Feb 21, 2026, 18:04

Sacha was gone in that instance…..had to take guests to the airport, so I missed much of this. Surely this must be the end of George Ford

Feb 21, 2026, 18:07

With Bortwick, who knows.

Feb 21, 2026, 18:09

42-21. Proper smashing.

Feb 21, 2026, 18:28

Marcus has speed where it counts for a flyhalf, the first 10m.

Bit disappointed in his top end pace there as well but that's not his job and I agree, Sacha would have made that look easy.

I know a few of you watched the Sharks game earlier, did any of you notice Juju thinking about backing his pace and showing an almost Gerber-like thrust before throwing what admittedly wasn't the greatest pass . . . in what was the disallowed try for a much earlier obstruction. Too much earlier for my liking. It's still rugby for goodness sake.

Juju is an obvious talent. Hope he gets a shot for the Boks at some stage.

Feb 21, 2026, 18:38

England never meet the expectations of their fans unfortunately.

Ireland had a better game that last week but still not the team that they where seasons ago.

But great to see some live top rugby games once more.

Feb 21, 2026, 18:49

That obstruction call was marginal, I doubt Chris Smith would have had any influence on the play even if he wasn't obstructed.

Feb 21, 2026, 18:56

Juju is a talent but he doesn't have enough other skills to be serious contender for the Boks at 13. Not while Hooker and Moodie are there. Guys who make massive hits, chase and collect high balls.

12 might just be his calling. As I said in another post, I can see the logic of him at 12 where he gets a lot of ball and can use his step to put others away. I think his explosiveness could see him open gaps for people.

Time will tell.

Anyway, after how Fassi is looking at 15, unless he gains serious form very quickly, is Rassie even gonna select him for the Boks this year when Willemse is in far better form and has balls the experience one could ask for, and Sacha can cover 15?

Feb 21, 2026, 19:46

Sacha should not be cover for 15. Quan Horn is in good form and should get a prolonged chance playing for the Boks.

Congrats Ireland they played good rugby today. Sorry Becs, but Borthwick is the wrong man for the job, i think.

England are yet again there own worst enemy by not taking there chances properly, and there very poor defence seems to be a serious problem.

Johnny Bravo's hair style didn't help much today. Better luck next time :)

Feb 21, 2026, 21:10

Well that was awful, wasn’t it ? :(

Feb 21, 2026, 21:53

I agree M...I hate Sacha playing anywhere but 10. Though Dobson and Rassie seem to not mind playing him at 15.

Fully agree on Quan Horn. He's the form 15 in SA at the moment. Probably has been for more than a season already.

Feb 22, 2026, 01:53

m

Feb 22, 2026, 02:14

Noooooo blob !!

Feb 22, 2026, 04:51

The Springboks will start their 2026 season with a mouth-watering clash against England at Ellis Park in Johannesburg, when the newly established Nations Championship kicks off. SA Rugby confirmed the three venues for the July tests on Friday.

The test against England is on Saturday, 4 July, and will be followed by encounters against Scotland at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria (11 July), and Wales at Hollywoodbets Kings Park in Durban (18 July).

The new schedule brings old foes back to South Africa for the first time in several years. England last toured South Africa in 2018 and Scotland more than a decade ago in 2014. Wales were the most recent visitors in 2022.

:)

Feb 22, 2026, 05:39

Well that was awful, wasn’t it ? :(

Time for you to become a Bok supporter, Becs. Stuff these losers.

Feb 22, 2026, 06:15

"I agree M...I hate Sacha playing anywhere but 10. Though Dobson and Rassie seem to not mind playing him at 15."

Manie 10 + Sacha 15 > Sacha 10 + anyone else than DM...if the Sacha + DW isn't available I can live with it ... a player plays where the team needs him.

Feb 22, 2026, 06:20

Dobson played him at 12... that's a bit too risky in my opinion...

Feb 22, 2026, 13:15

becs, if it's any consolation, I don't think your rugby team is the worst English national team at the moment.

Feb 22, 2026, 14:35

Wait, I take that back. The cricketers fought back really well against Sri Lanka.

Feb 22, 2026, 14:51

The biggest problem, in my opinion, is the coach. It's as clear as daylight. If basic Rugby fundamentals like Defense is falling flat, you need change ASAP.

He is not inspiring his players to do better, and the lack of self belief is visible on the field. There is something completely off in the ENG camp.

I wonder how long the RFU will still tolerate Borthwick? They are usually quick on the trigger when the results are bad.

Feb 22, 2026, 15:43

I think Scotland broke their belief last weekend. But I also stand by what I said higher up about those two missed penalty touches by Ford - that could have been an early score for England, get their tails up a bit, restore some belief. Instead he missed two in a row and then JGP caught them napping with the tap and the story was written for the game. Small moments often end up being big moments.

Feb 22, 2026, 16:15

Cool...

Feb 22, 2026, 20:40

Pakie, SA are my second team and have been so for years. Obviously I can’t support you against England but you have my support against everyone else:)

Rooinek……you forgot our fabulous football team as well. They never cover themselves in glory !

We look apathetic and that isn’t tolerable.

Borthwick has only one plan, kick the leather off the ball, and everyone knows that.

Ford was woeful, but he picks him because he’s the only fly half we have that will play to his plan.

Feb 22, 2026, 20:55

becs, on paper your football team is the best in the world. This year will be the umpteenth time I support them at a FIFA WC (after Bafana Bafana of course).

I don't learn my lesson. I know. . . but I will again be believing they can do it. Harry's last shot at it.

Feb 22, 2026, 21:01

Sadly, being good on paper doesn’t win you World Cups.

We shall see how they get on this time……
