Esterhuizen vs Libbok

AE has Libbok eating more grass than the average cow in the 35th and 38th minutes. If only he was still on the field at the end the Sharks could have sent him into Libbok again instead of launching the box kick that ultimately lost them the game.

Lol

Esterhuisen is playing some good Rugby at the moment.

But Esterhuisen is much bigger than Manie, unfair contest wouldn’t you agree?

If Esterhuisen didn’t beat Manie, then a person should start worrying I suppose.

Dec 29, 2024, 11:54

Even Jordan broke his tackle to score the Sharks' last try. It highlights how big a liability he is.

Dec 29, 2024, 11:57

That’s true….Manie is not making a strong case for getting selected.

Dec 29, 2024, 12:29

Manie wouldn't be in my provincial side.

Dec 29, 2024, 16:16

Manie is a glass act.

Dec 29, 2024, 16:21

Well Jan Pierewiet is somehow hanging in there….misses kicks and Tackle’s, but then he runs a brilliant line, to score a game changing try…

Not to talk about that final kick for poles and ensuring the Bonus point win….

Jan Pierewiet is n Kannie Dood:)

Dec 29, 2024, 18:03

I should hope Esterhuizen is able to dominate Manie

One would swear Jordan Hendrikse was a little guy - the lad has bulked up considerably and gets the better of most defenders these days

Dec 29, 2024, 18:48

"Manie is a glass act."

Hahaha

Dec 29, 2024, 20:20

Manie has the best pass in South Africa, but he is not an all-rounder.
On his day, he is worth 10 points on attack as a playmaker.

His pole-kicking will never be of test standard. His defence is weak. Little Man(ie) needs to tackle lower.

Dec 29, 2024, 20:33

He's too small and weak. I'm a bit shorter than than Manie but a few kgs heavier and even at shorter height and more weight, while I'm fairly athletic you definitely won't take me for a test rugby player if you see me. In the examples above with Esterhuizen both were low tackles, but AE just walked out of the first tackle and continued on, the second one he burst through without even losing speed.

Dec 29, 2024, 21:58

Well no one can argue that he is a small Flyhalf. Also that he is not the strongest of players.

But that being said, no one can argue that most games he makes points.

If it is a very accurate pass that leads to a try, a cross kick or he runs a very good line to score himself, he makes those points.

I really did write him off at a stage but he has proven me wrong.

As soon as you think he can’t be any more useless, he pulls a rabbit out of the hat.

It seems you guys refuse to see these obvious things about him?

I will confess it’s more than challenging to always see his worth, but it is there.

Dec 29, 2024, 23:23

Manie is a class act - love players like him, the things he does with ball in hand are uncoachable (sic)

Sure his goal kicking is shit right now and defence is not a strength of his given his size - but he brings so much to the game

I can see why Rassie shows faith in him

Some players have X factor - Manie is one of them, as is Sacha, Willemse, Fassi, Gelant, Moodie, Kolbe and Arendse

Dec 30, 2024, 00:01

A match loser ….he should have the ex factor.

Dec 30, 2024, 00:51

Last I checked the Stormers won thanks in part to a bit of magic from Manie - loser my arse

Dec 30, 2024, 01:00

His bit of magic was worth 7 points. But he missed Jordan Hendrikse for a try…so the seven points are wiped out. Plus he missed two conversions and I believe 2 penalties. Plus his poor tackling was a factor in the lead up to other tries.

He is in the negative by 10 points at least. And this was one of his better games recently.

Dave it’s laughable that you say Manie is a class act when he is so obviously too weak to protect his channel….but that Mostert is too weak when he never lets a player by him.

Then you say we have to have a tractor like Dud Allende because there is no space, but you pick Libbok because you like watching him run through space.

Dec 30, 2024, 01:35

I acknowledge that Manie is not physical but he is not the first

For the most he has not been a liability defensively otherwise he would not be playing at the level he has

He is definitely a class act on attack and his lack of size will see him exposed defensively at times . You don’t require physicality at 10 - Marcus Smith is in the same boat, he gets his arse handed on a plate at times as does McKenzie, Ramos and Russel

Is he our first choice 10 no he is not - he is 3.rd in line behind Pollard and Sacha

Definitely a very useful squad player

de Allende is no tractor in my eyes and Manie is more about creating for others than running in space

Dec 30, 2024, 02:44

Just another Elton.

The talent in SA Rugby is perhaps at an all time high.

Why even consider Libbok when we have at least two or three top class #10's available at present.

Provincial rugby is his level not international rugby.

Agree totally with your last comment Mozart.

Foeitog - that was the only tackle  Esterhuizden  managed to beat in the whole match once during the match  - for the rest he did fuck-all  45 mintes he actually was on the field.    And the praise songs go on.

And the poor  Sharks are set to lose thie weekend by 40+ points this coming weekend when they play Toulouse this weekend - but Esterhuisen is likely to claim he is out with an injury.

As to Libbok he is at the best of times a por tackler and was shit at flyhalf.  but in the end scored what turned out to be the winning try of  the Stormers in that match.    That was the first match in years where  four injured playes had to be replaced due to inijury in one match and to turn out it was probably the worst match I have seen for years - mainly playing  to injure the players in dirty play - with way too many penlties both sides gave away.   Then Hooker was given a yellow card and he was disappointing as well.

The only intereting issue to watch the scumming between Ox and Malherbe scrumming against each other and I call it 50:50 in that case - while the other player that stood out in the match was Schickerling at lock.     For the rest the Tight 5 on both sides did nothing much,

        .

for the rest he did fuck-all  45 mintes he actually was on the field.

Since you can't even distinguish between Esterhuizen and Hooker, we can safely assume you were watching one of the reserves warming up thinking that was Esterhuizen doing "fuck-all."

DOGS | PUPPIES | MEMES | The “doggie ...

Dec 30, 2024, 19:18

"Just another Elton." - Disagree …Manie is more conservative….not prone to private/public meltdowns like Elton .

He is also more consistent….but far from perfect.

Dec 30, 2024, 19:24

Never went into that phase when comparing the two.

I was referring to his Springbok fly-half contributions.

Dec 30, 2024, 19:36

That is what I meant when I said he is more consistent.

Also he is making more points than Elton, that blew hot and then ice cold….unfortunately a waste of a talented player.

Dec 30, 2024, 21:00

Elton blew hot only for 3 seasons at the Lions. He was the pivot for the most dominant SA team in SR three years in the trot. A side that scored tries at will.

For me, he was far better than Manie has been for the Boks. More consistent kicking, a vastly better defender...and much calmer under pressure.

He chucked one or two intercepted passes and made mistakes here and there, but it was nothing like Manie who has single-handedly lost them games and also had to brought off due to causing massive deficits.

Manie just bleeds points everywhere he goes.

The commentators mentioned it the weekend and also spoke about how many points he left on the field in the previous game.

He could have cost the Boks the RC with that miss against Argentina.

Elton may have had poor games but Manie is a match loser.

Dec 30, 2024, 21:13

Manie and Elton are very similar players

Both have magic hands and good vision, both great exponents of the kick pass

Big fan of both

The way they play the game is exciting and susceptible to the odd error - so fucking what

Elton was heavier which would have helped defensively but he was not the bravest early on in his career - got better with age and gym work

Dec 30, 2024, 21:39

When last did you actually watch him play?

He's been an absolute wreck all year.

Ask anyone that's actually watched the Stormers games.

Dec 30, 2024, 22:34

Bullshit his game has been fine unless you want to define it by poor goal kicking

He had a shocker a few weeks ago but other than that he has been good at what he does best and that’s create for others and run the Stormers attack

I have not missed a single Stormers, Bulls, Sharks or Lions game - never will

Libbok is a class act and that’s a fact. His goal kicking was fucking shit on Saturday though

Dec 30, 2024, 22:39

"A match loser ….he should have the ex factor."

The "ex factor"!

LMAO!

This is the self-important puffed up old toad who loves nothing more than to correct other posters mistakes.

The ex factor!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaha!

That is a keeper!

Dec 30, 2024, 22:45

The ex as in an ex Springbok you gormless fool….,waaahahaha. What a moron. Did you think I was mistaking it for X Peeper? Nobody ever accused you of being smart.

This is definitely a keeper.

Dec 30, 2024, 22:46

Moffie, just to explain . . . the X factor is an unpredictable and mercurial quality certain players have, while the "ex factor" is something your wife wishes she had.

Dec 30, 2024, 22:52

Just to explain, you never got the play on words you dumb plank.

Dec 30, 2024, 22:56

"A play on words"!

LMAO!

You keep playing with your words, Moffie, the rest of us are creased up laughing!

Dec 30, 2024, 22:57

Okay, we will put it to a Board vote….in a new string.

Dec 30, 2024, 23:00

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaha!
