....on the site main page Ed. I see a host of different names posting under the written articles. Most don't migrate to the Forum, possibly because the name doesn't convey the purpose. It's worth a try.....methinks.
This forum is technically backward. The last poster and number of posts on a thread never update. Thus one will assume there have been no further posts on a topic unless they re-read every thread.
Someone here said supersupporter looked like it had been designed by a high school student. Sorry to say but for a non-profit board supersupporter is streaks ahead.
Very much agreed, it took a very long time before I was interested in venturing onto Rucking Flanker. Something simple as "Forum" would suffice. As for the updating etc, these are small things to iron out. Not much needs to change.

Until you mentioned it, strangly we never noticed. But thanks, we'll def sort it out asap. We underwent some major surgery recently and failed to update that.

I question why the Rugby forum is sub-divided into "Springboks" "Varsity Rugby" "U20's" etc etc...it's all Rugby chat nevertheless so why not roll it into one chat room. I'd like to see more a simplified format of (1) General Discussion and (2) Rugby Chat Room and ideally a single Cricket chat room.

Yes suppersupporter is great technically, no question about it. Anyone wanting to see what could be done need only look there. That said Denny was correct in saying its the people who make the board.
The best board experience I had was on the old SA Rugby.net (Offical home of the Springboks). You couldn't find a simpler format. You posted a thread, the responses were listed below under a heading. Then came the next thread etc. That was it. The most interactive format you ever saw. When the geeks wanted to change it to a more sophisticated format there were outcries!
The bells and whistles are fun but essentially its the people that make a forum. Folk who love the game, share some life experiences/interets, enjoy a bit of banter and do not get all bitter, twisted and nasty.
I believe we can also do with an edit feature, for spellcheck and grammer corrections. It's quite embarrasing to know you've stuffed up after you've posted and then not being able to go back and correct.
I have to agree with you Beeno, SARU had the best interactive format for posting, as a matter of fact the defunct Supersport had exactly the same format. To me this format has too many borders and causes a separation, which I don't know, seems to alienate a post or thread.
Given my typing skill san edit function woul db ea great plus.
Also given the small number of poster all rugby matters could go under oe heading for now? we could all simply post under Boks? However I can live moving between Springboks and Super rugby.
Agreed there could be a cricket board as well.
I have no clue how difficult it is to do these things or the cost it involves.
There's too much separation on ths site, take for example the volume of posts that get blogged under the feature articles, most of those posters don't bother to post in the Forum. It really needs to be simplified so that we gather in a single room with a borderless interactive rollout. Rugby has been divided into several rooms....why?

We take our forum users points of view very seriously
A number of good items have been brought to the fore.
We've wanted to create a cricket room for some time now.
The "Edit" function is also something we've noted.
We hear your opinions with regards to making 1 general room. A concern would be though that (in our opinion) if one wanted to post (for example) specifically on the Varsity Cup, that it may get lost in the bigger heap of Springboks, Currie Cup and Super Rugby.
We will however review it and see if its worth having 3 rooms, namely General, Springboks and Super Rugby.
The couple ot tech glitches being experienced are being worked on over the next couple of days. Thanks must go out to all of you for your constructive feedback.
SARugby has moved away from using a bought "boxed product" in the past and have opted to develop our web application modules via our web developers, so any updates are easier to integrate.

It might not be a case of "getting lost", posting in a single room derives a benefit that a particular post or thread appeals to a wider audience for comment. Currently with 6 Rugga rooms it's too fragmented.

I do think the ability to use a chat forum....rucking flanker....and post directly to articles is a big plus. It combines what one gets at Keo and Suppersupporter. And the combination is better than either one. I also think limiting the number of topic categories will add immediacy to the experience.
For the rest I agree with most of the comments re editing , updating etc.
The non negotiable bit is Board speed.....nothing worse than waiting for a post to get through.
