Good to see Thomas

Given the start agains Oz and retained for the majority of the game - showed faith in him from the coaches

The Bok pack won 1 scrum penalty and conceded none. Thomas was solid and very good in general play

When Wilco came on I expected another Bok scrum penalty but that never materialised as the Oz pack stood firm, confirming they have a pretty handy pack of forwards

We need and Thomas and Wilco for the future at 3 but we also need to be building depth at 3 as both are 30

We have some good younger prospects in Nthlabakanye (if he is acquitted and gets into proper shape), Hanro Jacobs, Frans Klopper, Sadie and Zac Porthen (last years Baby Bok captain and currently starting for WP)

Tank was solid against the second choice Aussie prop….he is not a damaging scrummager. I agree he is good in general to play with me,

Second choice?

There are very few props in the game that are damaging - Wilco and Ox is where it ends

Second choice after Slipper, who at 36 is still the best Aussie loosehead

He stood better in the scrums and his general play with me, is his best Quality. He is better at TH then LH.

Moz how many years have you been on here to get 46 270 posts?

Thomas was picked for his mobility and work rate outside of the scrums, like clearing the breakdown. His work rate and fitness are higher than most props. He is certainly better at tighthead, but at test level, his scrummaging is not the best we have.

With the World Cup in Australia, we are going to need forwards that can get around the park. He could perhaps be more effective as a bench option when the game opens up - although having him at the start helps ensure the Boks are competitive at the rucks.

The Boks have been playing Northern Hemisphere teams for a long time and perhaps miss the high tempo Super Rugby has made us forget that in good running conditions, without fitness and mobility can backfire.

M. a few of us came over from another site close to the beginning, I believe in about 2012. That makes 13 years x 365 = 4745 days. So roughly 10 posts a day on average. A bit over the top but Dave needed a lot of help.

Wow that’s quite a bit of posting:)
