If the Boks win the next WC…..

….the next Lions series should be a home fixture against the Boks. It could also be a series against the SH….or a Rugby Championship vs 6 Nations clash. Any of these match ups would generate some new excitement into a sport that seems in limbo most of the time between WCs.

The scarlet jerseys running onto the park at Twickenham would add some cool pageantry to a sport that seems repetitive and overwhelmed by rules. One of the joys of watching the UEFA tournament is being able to celebrate goals without a court case….instant gratification.

Cricket has been revolutionized by the 50 and 20 over formats. Watch an old rugby match and one feels the game has lost much of its spontaneity, which in part is why a Sacha is breath of fresh air. But a 6 nations and Rugby Championship in which half of the teams have no chance of winning so often is only interesting from a player performance perspective.

Rugby needs something new.

Cricket has been ruined by 20 and 50 over games. I’m talking about Test Cricket.

Becs in a world of people watching sport while texting on their I-phones, test cricket serves a declining audience. Some of the nuances have been lost for sure but the game appears to be flourishing.

Or how about SA joining the Six Nations….I know Becs loves that idea:)

I think that ship has sailed. There is no more news on it.

The Six Nations vs South Africa makes more sense

"The Six Nations vs South Africa makes more sense"

Well, if Rassie is still coaching and Pieter-Steph is still playing then yes . . . but it might be a bit arrogant beyond that.

  1. If the Boks win the next world cup?
  2. What happens if they don't?

May 10, 2025, 22:17

Well, nothing happens if they don't, duh, life goes on.

Boks on their way down from this year.

The All Black fans must accept that the Bok fans are their puppet masters.

The All Blacks powder puff pack lacks the physicality to match the mighty Bok forwards.

Our cheerleaders could probably match them, before bringing on the bomb squad in the last 20 minutes to put the ABS out of their misery.

Granted, we need to retire a few before the next World Cup, but other players are certainly putting their hands up.

"Boks on their way down from this year."

You wish...yes, we have a few tough tests this season, and a few greats are getting close to retirement, but we've got a few replacements in the pipeline...

The Huge Junior Boks did not cut it.

They are being found out.

Dream on - the Baby Boks are anything but an indication of the talent coming through

The talent coming through is the best I have seen in a very long time

Just take Sacha for instance - this lad has the talent to surpass the best 10’s ever - Carter, Wilko etc

The only irreplaceable older Bok is Eben but then we do have RG
