Great to hear Kolbe has decided to head back to the mother city where it all began. He has come a long way and a bit a bit starter to his springbok career. He was always a gifted player but suffered from the same symptoms that most players like hime suffer from and that is to be an elusive runner. This looks great on the highlights real but not where it counts when you are being bounced off in tackles or lose the ball in contact or just end up having brain implodes.

I was nervous when he played for the boks and right on queue he got bounced and conceded a try. However, he managed to claw it back with a try and then finally slayed his demon as he managed to use his rugby IQ to get the player into touch. The rest has been history and he has now won two world cups with less than 50 test. Unbelievable!!!!

He is now heading back at the ripe old age of 32. He has become such a versatile player, popping up at 10, wing, full back and even throwing the ball in at line out.

Many believed his best position should be 9 where his size and acceleration will help him.

My only question of players of his age, while continue to be able to run at the pace he use to. I've noticed that he has lost some speed over the years and no longer as agile as he once were.

I don't blame him for cashing in and very happy that he got to play in France and then over in Japan. He should be setup for life now if he took Habana advice and not trust his dad that stole all of his money.

Not sure how long his contract will be but he will be around at least until he is 35. Pollard on the other hand only signed a two year contract with the Boools, so I expect him to head back to France or cash in by heading to Japan.

What are your thoughts?

Kolbe is definitely not a has been like Serfontein that was grounded down in the French leagues with a shortened rugby career.

Cheslin Kolbe is a class act....point me to a more skilled and talented player in the past 30+ years of readmission.

Pound for pound the best rugby player on the planet. Given his size, his work ethic and his relentless appetite to continue to find ways to win. That charge down on the French kicker was one of many moments that helped the boks win their 2nd consecutive world cup. Still good enough for 2027 and will be 33 / 34 and plenty of experience

And yet the Boks hardly use him. Seeing him get the ball two or three times per game playing for the Boks has been somewhat frustrating. He needs to be deliberately engaged like France/Bordeaux does with Le Beep.

I think he has one more World Cup in him before he loses his pace. He is already not as fast as he used to be on a 100 metre sprint, but he still has speed off the mark to break the line

Kolbe and Sacha are X Factor players with speed, skill, talent, and the knack for reading the game in the moment, trusting their instincts to either score points or set up scoring opportunities. They share many qualities, but what really stands out is their game-changing instincts. And let’s not forget Kurt Lee—while not as naturally talented or skilled, he’s just as instinctive, often making his own luck and consistently punching above his weight. All three are true game changers.

My only concern is whether Kolbe has lost a yard of speed.

Edit: On another note, how does an opposing coach plan to control instinct?

Worth his weight in GOLD.

Not only is he a great winger but his kicking ability is also a factor that is very good and not given the credit it deserves.

His side step at speed is unmatched in SA Rugby and/or world rugby without a doubt.

Pleased he is heading back to SA .

Deurmekaar - Kolbe is a wing -Sacha a flyhalf - two vastly different positions with different requirements,

In any event Kolbe will be a happy chappy with the Stormers where he will be joined by De Allende and Du Toit, In their different positions they were regarded as the best players in the world for years,
