I love our rugby debates it’s always a pleasure good man

We see things completely differently. I’m always right and you are always wrong :)

Mar 19, 2024, 01:29

Hahaha…liking you as much as I do Dave, I almost wish that was true! But nah, look at the Springboks dominated thread and your demise.

Mar 19, 2024, 06:48

Don't go soft on us Dave, your hard edge is all that keeps you interesting given your lack of rugby expertise.

Mar 19, 2024, 09:50

Pakie Im just buttering Moz up for the kill

Mar 19, 2024, 12:01

Good man.

Mar 19, 2024, 12:24

All that ice cream has gone to Dave’s head.

Mar 19, 2024, 12:26

...and waist.

Mar 19, 2024, 12:36

Geez Plum didn’t you know Dave only puts on weight round his biceps.

Mar 19, 2024, 15:24

Oh God…..here we go again !

Mar 19, 2024, 17:46

The novelty of eating ice cream has long worn thin

I’m as fit as they come these days - Greek God written all over me hey Becs?

Mar 19, 2024, 19:10

Oh yeah, Saffex.

Your body is a temple.

Mar 19, 2024, 19:47

Your body is a temple.

Taj Mahal, perhaps? A round dome with a pointy bit at the end?

Mar 19, 2024, 20:15

Buddhist temple?

Mar 19, 2024, 20:54

Temple of Karnak ? One of the most impressive in the world…

Mar 20, 2024, 08:42

One of the most impressive in the world…

Not appropriate in this context then, Becs.

Mar 20, 2024, 12:43

Kailasa Temple also knows as the Ellora Caves.

Carved from the top down, out of the side of a mountain. The whole thing is one piece of rock. And that includes every finely carved statue or relief you see in these images.

Impressive?

Temple-11Temple-2temple-1

Mar 20, 2024, 12:51

That is impressive Plum….India is a beautiful country.

Mar 20, 2024, 13:55

Incredible artistic accomplishment…..not Dave’s body, I mean the temple. Dave’s body is more of an incredible caloric accomplishment.

Mar 20, 2024, 14:24

I’d like to say I don’t like a calorie or two but chocolate (not dark, yuck)is my favourite thing on the planet, closely followed by sweets, cakes etc

All the good things in life

But as long as you burn more calories than you consume all is well and there is no better or more fulfilling burn than a gym session - not cardio - weights

Mar 20, 2024, 15:33

Oh Pakie, you have no idea ;)

Mar 20, 2024, 17:21

I'd put Kailasa somewhere in my top 5.

But the numebr 1 spot is surely the Egyptian Labyrinth. To think, it's still there, hidden somewhere in Egypt.

Here is a summary of what Herodotus said about it...

Herodotus, the famous Greek historian, described the Egyptian labyrinth in his book "The Histories" as a truly awe-inspiring structure, even grander than the pyramids according to him. Here are some key points from his description:

  • Layout: It consisted of twelve roofed courts, six facing north and six facing south, all connected within one massive outer wall.
  • Scale: He mentions a staggering number of chambers - 3,000 in total - with 1,500 above ground and another 1,500 underground (though he admits he only saw the upper ones).
  • Construction: The labyrinth boasted a stone roof matching the walls, decorated with intricate carvings. Each court was surrounded by beautifully crafted pillars made of white stone.
  • Pyramid Connection: At the end of the labyrinth, near a corner, stood a large pyramid (around 240 feet high) adorned with impressive carvings. An underground passage supposedly led to this pyramid.

It's important to remember that Herodotus visited Egypt in the 5th century BC, and the labyrinth itself might have been even older. The exact location and purpose of the labyrinth remain a mystery, adding to its allure.

Where do I fit in Plum?

Mar 21, 2024, 08:25
