Gets hammered backwards every time. His first carry ends in him fluffing possession.

Crevy with ball in hand carries him.

I think our analysis is going to be a little embarrassing

Geez Mostert is crap

I know I said we would ignore low tackles but we can’t ignore the Mostert miss that lead to the try!!

He was also hammered back in another case and there was another turnover later in the game,

Did you notice the they did when intending to get a driving maul going.  Du Toit moved to the front of the line-out and Etzebeth moved to the middle of the line-out, with Mostert somewhere at the back of the lineout,   Clear that he cannot be involved in driving mauls -to weak for that,

Maaik, BS, Mosterdt is solid enough.

Checkout minute 56.....Stephanie totally dominated until Mostert arrives and takes charge.

Mostert most tackles of any Bok, second most metres of any forward......the man who prized open the Bargies with his brilliant run down the middle leading to a try.

Mostert had the most carries, one of his best tests.

N Mozart.

There was one incident that illustrate that Mostert is physically not up to standard.  If you look at the try scored by the De Jager in the Aussie test and when Mostert was in the same position, he failed to get the ball over the line.

Despite that run Mostert was substandard during the whole game and I would say he just manage a 5/10

Mostert was easily a 7.....Vermeulen was an 8.

Where Du Toit is ten times the player Mostert will ever be,  LMAO

Mostert was useless everyone of his carries in contact were completely ineffective as always. His open field run was good because he was nowhere near contact.

Made zero impact with ball in hand in contact situations, did not make a single physical tackle and not a single effective clean out.

The man is powder - a liability when you think how much better RG and Lood are.

PSDT on the other hand at least breaches the gain line when carrying in contact and actually drives players back in the tackle

Mostert is nowhere near as physical as PSDT

Analysis proving this to follow

Stephanie at least breaches the gain line you say Dave, but mysteriously it never shows up in metres made or defenders beaten. Like UFOs this world beater exists only in the minds of the faithful.

Steph is quality and so is Mostert.

Aug 11, 2019, 08:51

No Mozart

Du Toit is physically stronger in all respects - better quality tackles - better carrying balls in traffic and also better in open play - more effective in following up kicks and generally more effective in ball protection and recovery and passing of the ball - the complete silence on his try assist is typical of you.

He was middle of the lineout and driving right at the front next to catcher Etzebeth for our first maul try.

Where should he be Pakie?   he is supposed to be in the front part of a maul.   Now give me a real reason why in line-outs from where driving mauls is expected -

*   they moved  Du Toit to the front of the line-out;

*   they moved  Etzebeth to the middle of the line-out; and

*   they moved  Mostert to the back of the line-out to the position normally occupied by the 7

Driving mauls are basically only effective when the Jumper take the ball and organized and control the maul movements.   Mostert is totally incapable of doing that and is effectively cut out from the major component. of the maul.

Du Toit is moved to the front of the line-out to cater for another option breaking out in the front part of the lineout -which cannot be handled by Mostert either.

In that lineout we were clearly planning to maul it over. Mostert is middle of the lineout, Steph at the back. Successful maul, no problem. Why would we score a maul try with Mostert front and center in the maul supporting the catcher, and then decide to move him to the back because he "can't maul". Stop talking shit.

Aug 11, 2019, 15:02

No Pakie - it happened in virtually all the line-outs as I described.   So answer why it happened. that Etzebeth moved to the middle of the line-out and Du Toi to the front?   Why was no ball thrown to Mostert to initiate a driving maul?

Wait a bit further also - what happened when  De Allende break through and ended up being tackled by three players ending up a meter out,  The ball came back to Mostert and he was tackled back.  The Springboks were lucky - the ball came back to them again and  and Pollard scored,

A similar situation can be found in the De Jager try in the Aussie test.   De Jager carried the ball forward and scored the try - Mostert was tackled back in the same circumstances and he attack nearly fizzled out.   Can you now understand why Mostert is to weak to be a top class lock?
