Not sure how many people even knew about this. I stumbled on the live feed via Youtube algo.

Pumas dominated the first half, leading 28-7 at the break. Griquas came back in the second, completely dominating with their forwards to pull level 28-28 with minutes to go. If they had any decent sense of back play they would have run away with it, but they focused so hard on smashing their way through that they let several clear scoring opportunities slip away at the end - one in particular where an offload out of the tackle would have found a player unmarked who could walk it in, but the carrier clung to that ball like it was the last flat screen TV in the shop on Black Friday.

Also, they were camped on the Pumas tryline in the last minutes with the scores level - they could easily have set a platform for a droppie from right in front, but declined, only taking a hail mary almost from the halfway line after time was up. It went well wide. Wonder how they felt about that decision roughly 30 minutes later.

In the first half of extra time Pumas dominated, mimicking the game to that point by scoring ten unanswered points. Griquas scored early in the second half of extra time to make it a 3 point game, but two bad knock-ons tanked their chances and Pumas won 38-35.

Not a great game, but interesting in its own way. Can't say I saw anything or anyone to get excited about. Neither of these teams are ready for a step up to URC level.

Slow boet, haven't made much time for it but I'll start fiddling again soon. Crisp winter nights are good for it.

Indeed.

I'm guessing where you are the light pollution is also minimal.

Must say, my cheap telescope still manages some nice views even from the middle Joburg. Will for sure invest in a stronger one at some point.
