"The Pacific nation of Samoa has banned the Elton John biopic Rocketman because of its depictions of homosexuality.

About 97% of people in Samoa identify as Christian, and the society is generally considered conservative and traditional. Under Samoa’s 2013 Crimes Act, sodomy is deemed an offence punishable by up to seven years in prison, even if both parties consent.

Samoa’s principal censor, Leiataua Niuapu Faaui, told the Samoa Observer on Tuesday that the homosexual activity depicted on screen violated laws and did not sit well with the country’s cultural and Christian beliefs."

.........

So what do we do now....ban Samoa.

This should be under Beeno's madness - it has NOTHING to do with Rugby.

Doubtless the pervs rooitwit and sharktwit will be in a complete rage and froth. Oh the anguish!!!

Great respect to the Samoans! Time to reinstate penalties re Sodomy. Enough is enough.

Letting Elton John sing their national anthem at the RWC should be sufficient punishment.

Punish them for their religious beliefs? Imagine England having Elton John sing the Pakistani national anthem as punishment for the Muslim beliefs on homosexuality?

There is some irony here. The Western world promoted Christianity all around the world as the premier religion. Christianity often replaced traditional religion such as Buddhism in the East.  Some non-Christians were even persecuted during the indoctrination process.

However, nowadays the Western world is persecuting people for their Christian beliefs... Look no further than Folau.....

Aint globalisation a bitch...

A religion usually goes three product life cycle phases.

- New Religion (The believers get persecuted)

- Main Stream religion (The believers persecute everyone else)

- Dying religion (The believers get persecuted)

Image result for christian persecution

Don't you worry too much sharktwit globalization grows weaker by the day. Persecution has always led to a stronger church.

Tokkie the connection with rugby, and the obvious reason to post in this section is Folau. Arguably the world's best 15 is banned for speaking out on Gays, but one of the Nations whose anthem will be played at the RWC puts gays in jail.

It's unfortunate that your memory is so shot that you can't remember the Folau debate.

Christians were the persecuted by the pagan Catholic church. Catholicism being Babylonian witchcraft. They were always those being persecuted from beginning unto now.

Jul 16, 2019, 17:39

And yet there are those who think persecution is a good thing...even a few on this site propagate persecution....bizarre!
