Another weekend and another terrible display by Sasha. It looks like the wheels has come off for this young man and it doesn’t look like he is helping the storm cause. Right now, the inform flyhalf in South Africa rugby is Handre Pollard. Sasha continues to show disappointment by not being able to connect with his back line and continue to make poor decisions on attack. Not only is his tax offering but he’s defending has gone to pot. I know he’s a talented young man and he showed great promise last year when he destroyed the all black and other teams. However, those were just a handful of games and everybody was jumping on the bandwagon that is the best fly of that ever lived. I was expecting big things from him this season and I was hoping that he would follow in the footsteps of Dan Carter that he would transform the storm as attack and give them direction and make them near impossible to play against what hasn’t added him is that the stormers midfield has been atrocious and I continuity in the back line and in the general play. Dubbo has taken the same approach as rotate to try to rotate the squad as much as possible. But there are many players such as Warwick Gellant that has been hopelessly out of form and that should not go near a storm Jersey it doesn’t look like there’s much talent coming through at the storm at the moment and they are missing the store of Dan Dupree and Nel in the midfield. I wonder if this is the season where Sasha gets found out and whether Russell will persist with him or kick him to the side and wait for him to regain his form. Sasha now has 11 runs with the storms before year end as we get into the business end of the season There should be no excuses as to why he can’t improve on his form or the team is not getting better ?

We seen with the bulls have improved after having a break for six weeks and giving the spring box an extended rest. The team have played much better rugby than earlier in the season when the Bol players were joining them straight from the international season. All of a sudden, players like moody pollard looks well class. The bulls teams look far more informed. and I hope to see more of this coming in the season. We’ve also seen a team like the Lions starting to reach the potential and I hope they continue to win at home and against all of the other teams to help our current teams the only team that is not performing to the potential is the sharks. With the likes of all the books in the team, but no Kolisi or Etzebeth, the sharks are going from bad to worst. It looks like that two once against the storms was actually against a very poor Sasha lead team and that that their wins wasn’t a change of their form improving. I wonder if the storm is should bench Sasha for the rest of the season and and let Jurie Mathee take over the fly half over responsibilities and either drop Sasha completely or use them as a utility player on the bench. Perhaps he will learn more from watching the game on the sidelines and start contributing when it comes on and build his game back up again.

I totally disagree in Sacha.

It's clear that he is making a concerted effort to bring the other backs into the game. There were so many phases yesterday where he did exactly what a "non glory boy 10" like Pollard would do and played it down the line. He delayed passes to put people into space, hurried passes to buy the receiver time. His pass count was very high yesterday...you can rewatch the game if you disagree but it was noticeable how seldom he took it in alone.

The problem is that the other backs have two ideas...it's either no idea or rely on Sacha to make something.

His kicking was a bit off colour but his over all error count was pretty low and my feeling is that the poor guy is told he mustn't be a glory boy and to bring others into the game and then those others fail to make anything happen.

Conductors are born to conduct, let them conduct and don't interfere.

Unfortunately, Sacha also made quite a few passes that put players straight into contact.

Usually he’s the one attacking space and creating opportunities for support runners to latch onto.

He used to be in much better form, where his passing and kicking from hand were very sharp. Lately, though, his form has dipped significantly.

His accuracy at the poles is a concern and not good enough for Test level at the moment.

Compare that with Pollard and it’s like night and day. I also thought Roche, Simelane and Matthee passed well and managed to put players into space effectively.

But Credit must be given to an excellent Lions defensive structure. That stopped most of the Stormers efforts.

Yes I agree his game has dropped off but remember one player does make a team.

With Moerat out his qualities as a player and Kaptein places a huge burden on the other Stormers players to deliver not simply depend on Sasha.

Go LIONS......

I am not hppy about Sacha's performance the apst three weeks - but I think coaching is the problem - he is much better when playing for the Springboks than for the Stormers, The center pairing of the S tormers are substandard at present as well, So we must see how ong that sitution is going to prevail.
