1. The Boks:
Without a doubt, the best rugby team in the world in 2024, and have the most depth.
The Springbok B team could beat most of the top 5 ranked test teams 50%+ of the time, and certainly teams outside of the top 5.

The only concern is that some of the key players are ageing and might not make the next World Cup in 2027, or if they do past their prime.
Rassie has played something like 55 players this year, so he is certainly testing them to see which ones can step up to test level, and which ones should not be invested in any further.

Sasha Zulu was the find of the season - in the key flyhalf position. The most all-around flyhalf in ages, hopefully, his knee injuries are not an ongoing issue.

Weaknesses; The breakdown area is usually where the Boks lose the game. If they do well at the breakdown - they never lose.
Also, not being able to put the ball down the backline as efficiently as other top 4-5 test teams. This is a work in progress.
The lineouts usually the Bok's strongest area - have been poor for a few years now. The new hooker over the weekend looked a bit better at finding his jumpers.

1. The All Blacks:
They have flashes when they look like the invincible All Blacks of bygone eras. It seems to be a consistency issue with the forwards not delivering enough quality ball to give the backs the space to run. They seem to kick more, but that may also be down to them losing the territory game where they have to play more of the game in their own half. The tight five does not yet have the physicality to dominate a few tests in a row. Still very strong in New Zealand, but they lack consistency on the road.

2. Ireland:
Their form may be starting to wane. Some of the new players coming through look promising- but not in the league of a Sexton. They still have an excellent system that the players know well. Very strong loose forwards at the breakdown. The backline is very good at moving the ball down the line even in the tight traffic of test rugby. The inside centres are very skilful at beating the first line of defences. They do lack outright pace which will be essential in 2027 Australia WC. The sum of its parts seems better than the players listed on the team sheet.

3. France:
Still topsy turvy. On their day they can beat any team, but their day is usually not a few games in a row. A very strong team on paper, but not as consistent as a unit. They seem to rotate their squad a lot - without really settling on the best combinations. Almost like they have 2 B-teams, instead of an A and B team.

4. England
They seem rudderless. Their best performance was against the Boks - but they just lost direction in the 2nd half. I think the coach will be fired after the 6 nations if there is not a clear direction. Eddie Jones? Marcus Smith has developed into a top-quality test flyhalf. When he was replaced, there was a noticeable drop in performance.
He needs better players outside him.

5. Scotland:
A good team, currently better than England. They have good players in most positions. The loose forwards could be better to give more options on attack by linking with the backs.
Also known as the South African Z-team.

6. Wales
A lost cause. Even the bus driver should be fired to leave no stone unturned.

7. Argentina
They are a team on the up. They are getting better all of the time. The backs are good, and their forwards can run the ball- but Not sure what happened to their much-vaunted Bajada scrumming technique - their scrum is currently weak.

8. Australia
They have certainly shown patches of improvement where the team is playing well.
They still have some players that are just not test-standard, and Schmidt will need to search clubs and rugby league for new recruits. Schmidt can build a system but he needs time and new players.

I was just wondering how ou sharktwit could write a post like this! :D Maybe this explains why Viskop's rugby posts are way better than his disastrous political posts?

Small margins are separating top sides. Your World class players give you the edge.

ButtPlug, I never used ChatGPT to write, or even edit the post.

I might be starting to write like ChatGPT- because I use it a lot. My grammar has become ChatGPT'ish- but probably better than what it was.
