Om nom nom.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:08

Lol haha I just made a thread but it doesn't look like it worked.

Luckily you have my back Paks.

I won't be commenting much as I have family over for the game but I am around

Jul 05, 2025, 17:08

You put it in the trumpet :)

Jul 05, 2025, 17:09

I saw

Jul 05, 2025, 17:14

Eben with an early charge down. Pollard with a diving knock.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:15

Etzebeth…..he could take that woosie AB pack single handed

Jul 05, 2025, 17:22

DDA gets some forward momentum in the middle after a big Bok scrum.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:25

Long period of the old smash and bash for the Boks. Italy up to it so far. Then DDA puts a sweet little grubber through for Kriel to run onto in the in goal. They're checking something. Yeah Kriel looks in front. Nope, try stands.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:26

Kriel scores, try is good. I thought Kriel was marginally ahead when looking at the top of their bodies, but their feet looked relatively on the straight line

Jul 05, 2025, 17:27

7-0 Boks

Jul 05, 2025, 17:27

The Video ref can’t draw a parallel line in his mind…of course he was ahead….another umpire’s call try.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:28

Definitely looked in front.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:30

Dud fluffs the ball2 metres out

Jul 05, 2025, 17:30

DDA now loses the ball in contact, Italy off the hook although they have to contend with the Boks scrum 5 out from their own line.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:31

Tackle count 46-6 to Italy. All Boks.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:33

Superb double tackle on Eben. Boks making no ground through multiple phase bashing and now Italy gets it and clears.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:34

|Lomp robbed in the lineout

Jul 05, 2025, 17:39

21 minutes of not a whole lot to report.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:41

Italians defending like demons, they get a yellow now though. Will probably cost them 7 or 14 points given under how much pressure they are.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:41

The Boks will get better as the match goes. Lots of musical chairs, so not a settled team yet in terms of combinations.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:43

Easy work thus far...

14-0

I see we are absolutely adamant that we will not sue the backline.

Wonderful

Jul 05, 2025, 17:43

Bok scrum rolling over the line and Morne picks up at the back to dot down.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:45

Willemse knocks. Italy has it.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:48

Italy gets a chance to kick a penalty and run down the yellow clock a bit. 14-3

Jul 05, 2025, 17:49

`she has to penalize Eben

Jul 05, 2025, 17:49

Big old ruck by Italy. They're quite physical.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:50

Arendse is so mean good. Perfect try!

He's easily one of my favourite Bok wingers ever.

Such a great runner and so slippery.

Beautiful try

Jul 05, 2025, 17:50

Haha, Arendse like a knife through butter. Too easy.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:51

21-3

Jul 05, 2025, 17:52

Great awareness from Eben at the kick contest.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:53

Morne lands on his arse attempting a boxie, completely missed it. Guess he tried to miss the ref and missed everything. Italy back to 15 men.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:54

van deb Bergh decides not to put a boot up the refs backside.,,,very polite

Jul 05, 2025, 17:54

Cheslin dragging the number 8 with him. His strength never ceases to amaze.

Jul 05, 2025, 17:56

Boks just brute forcing it, no interest in any finesse. Cheslin almost dances through.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:00

More with a nice little dart off the back of the scrum gets his second. 28-3

Jul 05, 2025, 18:00

Wiese making more meters in contact just about every carry than we saw any NZ forward do this morning.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:03

Our midfield still doesn't do enough to pin the defense, straighten the line and create space wide. Those fast passes just allow the defense to drift you out of options against the touchline.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:04

28-3 halftime. No real contest, Boks just wearing the Italians down with the power game without doing anything special.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:08

The Boks are playing so well in certain facets of the game that it is carrying them in areas where they are not doing well. The breakdown is a concern. No clean multi-phase possession. No fetcher in the back row.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:18

These second team matches are a farce. Disappointing after 7 months without internationals

Jul 05, 2025, 18:20

Willemse now steps his way through a disinterested looking defense, Vincent finishes at the end of it all. Checking something again. Fucking hell there are many reviews after tries so far today. How irritating.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:22

No try. Eye roll.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:23

Just like the NZ test…the video refs seem to be under instructions to get more involved

Jul 05, 2025, 18:26

Italy burrows over for their first try.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:29

These disallowed tries after the fact feels like it's ripping the heart out of the game. It's like you see some great play, only for it all to become meaningless a few seconds later often for dubious reasons. Trickery and treason.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:30

Italian down, think I'll go grab some food.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:37

Boks really not setting the stage alight here.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:43

Kriel inside into contact with Kolbe open outside. Koch over eventually.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:44

Vast enthusiasm by the commentator for another process try…embarrassing. Along with ‘Damien de Allende always quality in contact’. That’s the issue he needs to avoid contact and find space.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:47

Good stuff from the Italians now and they're in, but it will be checked for touch. He did take his time to get it down. Ball under the wrong arm. Amazing how many test players still get this wrong while we see schoolboys doing it right.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:49

Fabulous try saving tackle by Arendse….wing blew it, he should have gone low…hell he dotted it down a metre over the line

Jul 05, 2025, 18:49

Good defense Arendse though.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:50

Damien’s umpteenth tactical kick results in an Italian 50/22. Dud can only do one thing a game.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:50

DDA boots it away for a net loss of territory.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:51

Italy is making a serious comeback.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:52

Pablo, Pablo, Pablo….one of my favorite players

Jul 05, 2025, 18:52

DDA said he is back from Japan with more freedom in his game. More freedom to kick apparently. In the meantime the pizzamen score for rizzles this time.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:57

Italy showing all the enterprise now with possibly another try.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:58

That is most definitely down.

Jul 05, 2025, 18:58

The bomb squad bombing…can the Azzuri take this?

Jul 05, 2025, 18:59

35-24

Jul 05, 2025, 18:59

Meh, they drop it in contact from the kickoff tossing away all their advantage.

Jul 05, 2025, 19:00

Pollie go for the posts…secure a famous win

Jul 05, 2025, 19:00

Seriously, these geriatrics have done absolutely nothing coming on in the 2nd half. Conceding 3 tries. All wasted caps if you ask me

Jul 05, 2025, 19:00

Boks still seeking contact at every possible opportunity. Tedious to watch.

Jul 05, 2025, 19:01

The Azzuri stop our maul dead.

Jul 05, 2025, 19:02

Bomb squad more like the Christmas Cracker squad today.

Jul 05, 2025, 19:10

Well, that was...something, I guess. The All Blacks will feel hopeful.

Jul 05, 2025, 19:11

That’s it….Pakie you have to provide better entertinment

Jul 05, 2025, 19:11

The Geriatrical Bomb Squad failed to make an impact...

Jul 05, 2025, 19:13

Yeah time to return to clown commentary to spice things up while we battle through these nothing tests.

Jul 05, 2025, 19:13

Eben got moered today. Had no impact. Got tackled back on a number occasions.

The bomb squad more like bombed.

Time to let the oldies go.

Koch, Bongi, Mostert, Faf and Willie had no impact.

Would have love to see Hooker get a crack.

Jul 05, 2025, 19:40

Having watched some of the French/AB game today, Sharks comment above is spot on...they were both sharp at the breakdown while Boks looked lethargic at times. They'll need to do a lot better if they'd like to keep any of their own ball against those sides.

Jul 05, 2025, 19:46

A shit perforance bmy most po the players - the Bok backline players of value was Van den Berg and Arendse - ehth only De Allende showing some spark at all, Amons th forwards each one messed up something and the bomb squad was utterky useless with the Itlians wn a number of line-outs frm Springbok throw-ins. Mustert wa outhumped on a number of occassions resectuve oif who threw in the balls.

Jul 05, 2025, 19:58

Mustert wa outhumped

Well, not sure that particular action is part of his job description.

Jul 05, 2025, 20:08

7 and 8 ratings galore in the media, with only Kolbe and Kriel getting 6 on Planet-rugby. Apparently the Boks were on fire and we missed it.

Jul 06, 2025, 21:27

That was a disappointing showing by the Boks at times they looked like they would run away with it but conceding those tries was piss poor

I thought Vincent Tsituka had a good debut

Wilco, Lood and Wiese were good in the forwards

vd Bergh, Pollard, Arendse and Willemse in the backs

But nothing special - they need a kick up the arse going into the next test

Jul 08, 2025, 12:42

Thought vd Berg was good but it's debatable whether he or Kurt Lee deserved MOM. VD Berg's try could have been scored by anyone's grannie whereas Kurt Lee's try was brilliant involving a lot of instinct and work. He also saved a try and was also involved with a try assist. Furthermore he was all over the park asking a lot of questions from the Azzurri.

Jul 08, 2025, 16:21

Arendse is the best wing in the world.
