We will need some line-out strengthening and Mostert is not the answer.

That midfield is very fragile. Faf will create a lot of problems for the team, exacerbating that fragility. Defence on the edge will be weak, and neither wing is capable of shoring up the outside. We need a rock at 13. Kwagga is our best player and must start. I'd go 8.Wiese, 7.Dan, 6.Kwagga. Rock solid, skilled and lethal on the ground. England would have a hard time dealing with that trio.

Mike none of the European based players are available. So that excludes Wiese, Koch, Esterhuizen, Jenkins, du Preez twins and Kolbe

The team Id go with would be:

15. Willie

14. Arendse

13. de Allende

12. Willemse

11. Mapimpi

10. Libbok

9. Faf

1. Kitshoff

2. Marx

3. Malherbe

4. Moerat

5. Etzebeth

6. Kolisi

7. Elrigh Louw

8. Roos

16. Mbonambi 17. Ox 18. Thomas du Toit 19. Nortje 20. Mostert 21. Kwagga 22. Hendrikse 23. Jessie Kriel

A world cup backline could start with these players, with the backups in brackets

9. Faff                       /Hendrikse]
10. Libbok                / Pollard]
12. Willemse             /Delande/ Esterhuizen]
13. AM

14. Kolbe
15. Leroux
11. Arendse                 /Mapimpi]

Willemse is a utility back. Not much else at 12. Esterhuizen and Damian. Mapimpi is far better than Arendse. Faf is not test quality. Hendrickse has done nothing to deserve a demotion. Libbok, the jury is still out on him, but he deserves a shot.

Willemse might be better going back to being an impact player off the bench. Although the jury is still out, because he does play at 12 for the Stormers. He is more creative than Delande, but not as strong carrying the ball up.

Willemse operates best when in space. He is the kind of runner that's like Kirchner used to be but less physical. Not so much a facilitator. If you can get some flat manipulation of the line between 10 and 12 the 15 (Willemse) can wreck havoc with 13 (Am). If not at 15, I prefer him on the bench, as he can cover all positions aside from 9. Though, our 9s tend to have such poor skills that he could probably do a reasonable job there too.

Faf is not test quality, listen to this fool

Nov 20, 2022, 19:33

So Tokkie you would like to see Kolbe against  the Poms with a pap hamstring….nice one you old moron.

Nov 20, 2022, 19:59

Well Saffex, what has Faf done right? His pros certainly don't supersede the cons.

Nov 20, 2022, 23:38

Well at the time of the WC he was regarded as the best 9 in the game and that’s a fact

To say he is not test standard is nothing short of plain fucking stupidity

If you were hoping for any rugby credibility you have managed to quash that with that stupid comment

Faff is obviously a good player. His form dipped earlier in the season, but he seems to be getting back to his best.

Alright Yosemite Sammex, perhaps if you scream loud enough and stamp your feet hard enough I can take you seriously.

Nov 20, 2022, 23:55

Deus just fuck off you boring ignorant prick

Nov 21, 2022, 00:20
