I really can't understand why Williams never starts.
Perhaps I'm the only non that rates him above Jayden.

Stockdale busts some weak Sharks defence and Murphy scores for Ulster. The conversion is missed. 5-0 Ulster.
Mapimpi doing best DDA impression to allow Uslter in for a score
5-0
Oh no...
And now the Sharks pass a freshie and Ulster kick ahead and end up scoring...and converting
I think that was Am that threw that pass
12-0
Poor pass in the Sharks backline, Ulster hack it through and score. Conversion is good and Ulster lead 12-0.
Snarks gooi naam weg.
Terrible cleaning up by Kolisi as well. I'm watching with one eye, won't comment much.
Now Sharks botch their own lineout . . .
Now the Sharks scrum gets monstered after Jayden took too long to clear. Sharks better catch a big wake up very quickly.
Ulster owning the Shark's scrum and then rumbling forward
Sharks lose another lineout . . . bit of aerial ping pong until Jordan spills one. Ulster scrum. Sharks embarrassingly bad so far.
Jordan makes up for his earlier blunder with a good take and sends Hooker away.
Sharks are terrible.
Ethan Hooker gets a bad bounce but keeps possession only to be penalised for holding on. This is hard to watch . . .
Manu Tshituka saves the Sharks with a turnover just short of the Sharks tryline.
Ulster go end to end and score. I can't watch anymore. Goodnight all.
Braai bietjie en kyk die snarkies..
Sharks had what would have been a lovely try disallowed for a forward pass just before the break.
I'm hoping to be able to catch the second half.
Caught one look at that pass and couldn't really see if it was forward.
Painful to watch how uncohesive the Sharks are.
Yeah I thought it was a try that and didn't pay much attention the passes after that, but saw afterwards they called it back.
Second half is on so by the way Plum.
Good break comes to nothing as the Sharks has the ball stolen from under their noses at the ruck.
Big go forward from Esterhuizen gets the Sharks rumbling. 5m out.
And they knock on. Everyone wants to go on their own.
Sharks with a bit of notes sure, ending in a knock...and a scum on the Ulster 5
On comes JJ
Nou!
Jurenzo Malema Julius is on for Am.
And they grubber it away on attack again. The South African illness.
And lost at the ruck yet again. Where are the Sharks loosies? They're getting hammered at the rucks. Ulster just grabbing ruck balls at will.
Big hits flying in from Ulster.
Nice play from the Sharks putting together about a hundred passes and eventually dotting down under the posts
12-19 to Ulster
Manu scores under the posts.
Werner Kok hits hard.
Should be a good last 15 minutes here
Good last 10!!
Jurenzo!
19-19
Scrum to the Sharks just inside the Ulster 10.
They need a penalty here and then to set up a lineout...
Lovely play by the Sharks to work a try from that scrum.
AE crashing in and then flipping a pass to JJ who dots down under the posts.
19-19
Score level.
I really like that try
Hanro Jacobs making an impact, Julius over off Esterhuizen's hail mary offload.
Take the 3!
Sharks, with 5 minutes to go now have a lineout inside Ulster 22.
Can they make something from it?
And they get a penalty right in front of the posts!!
This could be the game
Sharks penalty straight in front.
Jordan kicks it and the Sharks lead.
Unrecognisable from the shambles that was the first half.
22-19 to the Sharks with 2.5 minutes to go
22-19
Ulster running themselves into touch, beautiful.
Goeie wen.
Ulster bundled in touch...in the final minute...Shakes lineout...30 seconds to go...
Thats the game!!!
Well done Vissies
Glad you came back, Rooi?
Sharks win it!
Good comeback. Big improvement in the second half and credit to some of the replacements . . . JJ, Mchunu and Phepsi all made a very positive impact.
Well they rose from the dead to win it, but it begs the question why they're starting so poorly. The bench made a difference.
The Saffa teams finishing the season strongly.
Nice to see
Esterhuizen was good...well from the parts of the game that I saw anyway
Yes. I left the TV on while I took the dogs out for 10 minutes, When I cam back I decided to carry on watching and yes, I'm glad I did.
Now Ou Maaik will come tell us how terrible Esterhuizen was, but I'll be in bed by then.
Lol Paks
What I know is that Sharks are a totally different team when Williams is at 9.
It's like he gets them into a dangerous rhythm or something. I don't know exactly what it is but its very noticeable.
Is he injured or something?
He was carrying a niggle, but I thought he was over it when he came on from the bench last week. Don't know what's going on now. The scrumhalf hugely influences the pace of your play. Jayden is just bog ordinary at the moment.
I'd love to know the average difference between Jayden and Williams clearance speeds.
What I notice about Williams is that he's generally just a few paces behind the carrier. Outside of rucks speed alone, there are so many other advantages that flow from that.
Faf and Jayden have about the same ruck clearance speed but Faf brings a whole bunch more.
I'm just struggling to see Jayden's value right now.
Apparently he is suffering from a neck injury. They want to give it more time to settle. He should be back for the playoffs.
Williams was not available
Sharks were piss poor at protecting the ball at the base. Jayden is not decisive enough at the base - too passive leading to turnovers
He has been off this season - is a better player than that
Hooker was good - I liked his back of the hand offload - showed the touch that I’m after in him.
Jenkins was good and Hanro Jacobs was an improvement on Koch at 3
Good comeback from the Sharks - Eben was a big loss forcing Vincent to move to 4 who is clearly not a lock
Not sure why the Sharks never had another lock on tour. Slabbert was on the bench but they clearly have little faith in him, starting Vincent at lock and not bringing Slabbert on off the bench
15,112 posts
Will probably only be able to watch the first half...
Lets hope the Vissies don't suffer from Galant syndrome today
