He thinks the current Bok team is an all-time great rugby team, perhaps better than the 2015 All Blacks. (Assuming more teams are better now). He commented that the Boks have used 51 players this year, and everyone just slots into the system seamlessly).

Great insight

Staff true - but te prima donnas on site think that coaching of teams are not needed when experience players will do the job all n their own.

Rasmus has a far better talent/opposition equation than Jake ever had. I know it’s hard to grasp, but rugby is competitive. The weaker the opposition and the stronger your talent pool….the less challenging the accomplishment

Rasmus is playing the weakest Aussie and AB teams since readmission and is benefiting from a mature  flow of talent from non traditional sources. White had Habana, JP and no forwards at all.

Dec 09, 2024, 19:13

Oh what rubbish - Jake had just as much talent - the AB’s are a damn good side

Scotland, Ireland, France and Argentina are far better now than in Jake’s time

Rassie is twice the coach Jake is in every respect - it’s not even close

Blah, blah….Scotland, Ireland and France may be better. But they haven’t won any WCs. They are no substitute for triple WC winning NZ or double WC winning Australia.. As for Jake’s talent pool it was filled with greats he brought in, rather than greats he inherited like Rasmus. But he had 2 players of color….not 7 like Rasmus. The player pool is far bigger now.

Dave stop talking Ramballs.

The fact that Ireland etc have not won a WC does not detract from the fact that they are far better sides than they were when Jake coached

Only one speaking utter balls as usual is you

As for the players Jake had well he had a core of Percy, JP, Habana, Fourie, Jean, Butch, du Preez, Pienaar, Os, Guthro, Smit, Bismark, Jannie, CJ, Bakkies, Matfield, Schalk, Juan, Danie and Skinstad which is as good as the core Rassie has now

Rassie is far better at identifying talent than Jake ever was - Rassie has brought in some class acts that he never inherited

Every coach inherits a core of experienced players - it’s a natural progression

It doesn’t matter if a team that are inherently worse than you gets better….but it does matter if a team that was as good or better than you gets worse.

And Ireland beat us. Not only at the WC but also on our home court. And they are a professional team, but hardly explosive.

Stop talking Ramballs.

Dec 10, 2024, 00:10

You sound like you are fucking rambling

What a load of shit

The fact is - England and NZ are good right now

Ireland, Scotland, Argentina and France are far better now than when Jake played them

Only Oz and Wales have slipped although Oz under Schmidt are turning the corner

Dec 10, 2024, 00:56

I guess if you are too thick to grasp the rather simple point I’m making it does come across as disconnected. Perhaps we should try some simpler stuff… making another list or have another go at Mostert.

Dec 10, 2024, 11:41

The only thick prick is you as you are too fucking stupid to comprehend that more sides have got better since useless Jake coached but your desperate attempt to discredit Rassie sees you telling me Ireland have not won a WC - so fucking what

Kind of sums your rugby up you rate average Mostert but not PSDT - how fucking stupid are you huh?

Dec 10, 2024, 19:29

More teams don’t matter.,,,.the fact that NZ and Australia, teams that have beaten us in multiple World Cups are far, far weaker matters. Ponder that and try to learn.

Dec 10, 2024, 19:34

Ah so the fact that Ireland are sitting at 1 or 2 counts for shit as they have never won a WC

Ah ok I get you - that makes perfect rugby sense

Same applies to France of course

I take comfort in this knowledge as come next WC I’m going to disregard the current standing of both sides given your inspirational take

Unbelievable

Dec 11, 2024, 00:11

But we lost to Ireland Dave….you keep telling us how much better a team they are. Okay we lost to them. Fortunately NZ, who we beat by 1 point, even though they were a man down for half the game, took care of Ireland.

Here’s the truth, this is a competent Irish team….but they are nothing like as formidable as NZ in any other WC. Or as Oz was through 2015.

Dec 11, 2024, 00:41

Wrong Ireland are up there with any NZ side of the past for they are able to live with this current Bok side, considered by some to be the best side ever

The current Irish side is a shit hot one - one of the best sides I have seen in a long time

Yes they beat us and NZ beat them but not that long ago they beat NZ in NZ

The sides are all so close because of the way rugby has moved
