Wow, that's some praise for Kolisi...not many will agree.

Yeah, Draad...the curse of BEE strikes again.

It's so difficult to remain objective when there are racial selections.

...close to impossible.

I think most of us here try to call things as we see them but that becomes so much more difficult with players like Kolisi because every mistake he makes causes us to shout BEE. Sure, that's partially our fault but blame also needs to go onto government selection policies.

Everybody else seems to love him though. Literally every podcast I have been watching from abroad is heaping praise on Siya.

Kolisi is awesome

Kolisi is awesome

I like him too, but a NZder saying he will surpass Richie McCaw as GOAT if South Africa manages to win the RWC is a big call.

McCaw is the most over rated player ever

Kolisi is not close to being the best ever and McCaw even less so but both are/ were quality players

Now this guy is a true analyst unlike the fucking boring pretender we have to constantly endure on here

One of the best analysis seen for quite some time.

Hive mentality over hype. We see it all the time. A player runs into space with balo in hand or shows some individual brilliance and now he is the best.

That said, Kolisi was always my first pick in my fantasy team. Why, because he scored tries. He played at 7, have more freedom to attack. The same with Bobby Skinstad, amazing attacking player. But as the years went on and injuries took their toll he became less effective and always struggled to be physical.

But, what I've seen of Kolisi in the last 12 months have been amazing. He has matured rapidly. His general play, tracking back to run down wingers, creating space out wide. That all counts.

He is not a player like van Staden or Kwagga that goes over the ball. He actually jumps away

But to me he has proven himself and he is my number 1 pick.

It also helps that we have Kitshoff, Marx and Vermeulen that can poach on the ground. So we don't need a Brüssow type opensider.

But the greatest, no.

You telling me he is better than Schalk Burger?

Aug 28, 2023, 12:35

I’d take him over Schalk

I guess it is a different game, different era. Although, not sure if they played together at the Stormers. Must have.

Schalc in his prime, physical beast and he had the hands. Played an entire game.

When last and how often has Kolisi actually played for a full 80 min. He got subbed in the World Cup final and most games that year. Couldn't get past 60 min and were often gassed after 40 min.

It’s all that singing, it wears him out.

Schalk was hard but a boring crashball player most of the time

He was far better than McCaw though
