Absolute bullshit regarding every player on your list. Ntamack for instance is pure class
A far more accurate list would be:
Mostert
Farrell
Halfpenny
Jamie George
George North
Francois Louw
Keith Earls
Itoje
Hadleigh Parkes

Your players are not flavor of the day, press favorites. Hence they may be good or bad, but they surely aren’t overrated.
Whereas the ‘world beaters’ on my list have consistently under performed the hype. I’m not saying they are all incompetent….except for Dud. But they aren’t stellar. And have never come through in the WC for example.
Overrated the bunch.
Ntmack is pure class
de Allende has been huge for the Boks made team of the year in 2022 and I see the same in another team of the year for 2023
CJ was very good for Ireland - their go to man with carries in traffic
Alwyn Jones was no Eben but better than many other test locks out there
Genge is good I dont think the Poms have worked out their best scrum yet. Genge would be more prominent if the Poms could find a good hooker and some power locks
Poor Mostert does not deserve being on that list….Flo was actually more good than bad…Ntamack is a class player, but we will have to wait until 27 to see if he can perform under immense pressure like Pollie….
Mostert is shit
Mostert plays his heart out each and every game and so does Smith.
Two players that are mainstay players in the Springbok team.
Dave you praise Erasmus each and every time and he is the one who ensures that the teams playing in the RWC are the top players thats why Moster and Smith are always in the team to represent RSA.
If you think they are not Springbok material they are selected because Erasmus insists on their inclusion so he must fit into the same category as these two as per your quote ...... "SHIT".
Surely you quote really fits the #6 Springbok player.
The only reason Rassie plays Mostert is because Lood was injured
I did not think this would be much of a problem as I was sure the obviously far better RG Snyman would partner Eben at lock but that never happened as it would appear Rassie preferred to balance out the strength of the 23 by keeping RG on the bench and starting the physically inept Mostert as Eben’s starting partner
Do I agree with this ploy - no fucking way. Mostert would not have smelt my WC squad
Yes he plays his heart out, yes he has plenty of energy and yes he is durable but he is a physical liability. My locks need to be physical first and foremost
It’s why Mostert and Orie would never have made my squad
With Lood out, I would have selected Eben and RG to start with Jason Jenkins on the bench. Kleyn was a good enough call but I prefer Jenkins
With Neinaber now the Leinster coach, I’m hoping Jason Jenkins gets the test recognition he deserves moving forward
I have no issue with Kwagga Smith, I’m a huge fan of his as an impact player off the bench
Mostert is a way bigger contributor than Lomp as we saw in the 2019 WC final. Made more tackles per minute than Dud Toit and never missed one in the playoffs. And he is much suprior to Lomp
in the lineouts.
Bullshit Mostert is and always has been a physical liability as we saw twice during the WC, spilling ball in contact
He might make 5 more tackles than Lood a game - hardly the job of a lock but he can’t begin to compare with Lood in the physical stakes
When Lood carries he crosses the advantage line much like PSDT does, you never see that with Mostert, he gets smashed backwards
The reasons are obvious. The narrow shouldered, no muscles 112kg Mostert is a physical insult, pretty much the same size as our inside centres
Lood is a respectable 125kg, PSDT 120kg
Real Bok forwards
Except this crossing the advantage line never shows up in any stats…..it lives only in the blinded recesses of your brain. Mostert is a toothless ball carrier, but so are Dud and Lomp.
Bullshit the stats tell me the physical players make a metre or half a metre in traffic thereby setting up the next phase, that never happens when Mostert carries as he simply can’t. He is not physical enough to take contact and drive forward
He makes nice little tackles but fails where it counts
Exactly how does half a meter contribute to the next phase. Dud Toit is a giraffe. Occasionally he gets open territory and gallops along quite nicely. But square him up with a tackler and it’s timber!
Well here is a rugby lesson for you Moz - basics really.
A forward carries the ball and takes contact driving forward thanks to the physicality he has. The likes of Lood, Eben, RG, PSDT, Ox etc gain on average a metre once they have taken contact and with that ensuring forward momentum. This is closely followed by support players joining to support the carrier and set up the next phase
If Mostert is your carrier, he either gets smashed backwards, or gets stopped in his tracks or spills the ball - take your pick. He is fucking useless carrying the ball up - hardly surprising, just look at him.
Apart from setting up phases, players crossing the advantage line in contact put the opposition on the back foot literally and psychologically. Bash a player backwards or stop him dead and the opposition win the physical and psychological battle.
Drivel…Dud Toit is easily toppled by the first tackler. To the extent he struggles forward a bit makes a turnover more likely. Mostert recognizes there is no benefit in offering up a turnover and puts his effort into securing the ball.
I prefer an Ollivon or a Savea who can beat tackles. Dud Toit is a dead end runner off good ball.
We keep hearing about his tackles in the final. And yes after a lackluster tournament he raised his work rate in the final. But Mostert from the lock position matched him in tackles per minute played…and never missed any
What else does Dud do apart from tackle….no turnovers, no offloads, no tackle busts, very little in the lineouts…no kick receptions except occasionally off kick offs.
All those process Dud tackles are easily reassigned and how many turnovers do we miss because he simply can’t
take advantage of the ball on the ground?Best I can tell he is a good process tackler and occasionally works a pick and go. Vastly overrated. He would be in my next five overrated players
Easily toppled over - what utter bullshit
He is our go to for carrying the ball up
His strength are his carries in traffic, his big physical hits, his bulk in the engine room, his good line out work and along with Faf, our chief harasser
Mostert puts his effort into securing the ball - yeah right - just like he did carrying the ball in the WC and spilling it?
It’s not the job of a blindside to be effecting turnovers - do you see Eben, RG, Lood or Mostert effecting turnovers? Never happens when a 2m player is involved
Saffex, I honestly don't know why you even try debating with a biased and ignorant rugby noob like Moffie.
The day this blinkered old fool gives a tiny bit of credit to the likes of his pet hats like Rassie or PSdT I'll give him some credibility but as long as he keeps bashing them and pretending he doesn'
t have egg all over his fat face I'll treat him with utter contempt. We all make good calls and bad calls. The lengths Moffie goes to to try and prove he never ever gets anything wrong is nothing short of childish and laughable.
Yeah Rooi it’s hard to believe that Moz finds no positives in PSDT who was world player of the year and now finds himself at number 4 in the ranks of world player of the year
I guess Moz is right and the rest of the rugby world is wrong lol
From the man who said we won the WC in spite of Rassie, not because of him….and then, wanting to be popular totally changed his tune.
