A less biased view of the Bools loss

I see the usual anti Jake posters are on about how poorly coached the Bools are. They aren’t. The Saints played exceptionally well and their defense, the big difference, was playing at test level intensity.

The Bools actually created a lot of opportunities, but perhaps tried to force the last pass. And clearly the defense was poor. The last try, for example, which the dumb commentator tried to blame on Moody was actually just an overlap, the defense didn’t shift.

Hanekom was obviously very good but I am left wondering if Elrigh Louw and Steenekamp are the real deal.

Dec 14, 2024, 16:18

Wehe . . . the most biased and prejudiced poster on the board presenting his "less biased" and ignorant view.

LMAO!

Dec 14, 2024, 16:41

Agree Moz….the Saints was playing very well today and deserved the win.

The Bulls did create opportunities, but was forcing to much and couldn’t Capitalise…..

Hanekom is Playing some good Rugby. Louw and Steenekamp were of there game….

They will be back next time.

Dec 14, 2024, 16:42

I see . . . so you guys are giving Joke White a free pass because the other team played well?

LMAO!

Why didn't the Springbok-laden Bulls play well? Because they have a crap coach is why.

Dec 14, 2024, 16:52

Mozart

With repect the Bulls made twice as many handling rrors than Northampton did.    That indicates poor skils developent by he coch.   The Bulls made to many penalized errors as well.   And the whole attacking pattern of the uls were preditctable making  defense easier,

Sure Northmpton played better rugby than te Bulls but continuus faulty play and making the sme mistakes all the time  represents real BS/

Dec 14, 2024, 17:06

No it indicates the Bools defense wasn’t as intense….the handling errors came because the Saints defense was so quick. The Bools ball movement was actually quite sophisticated.

I think the Bools were flat just back from a tough match in England. The Saints who cruised last week were obviously up for this one.

Dec 14, 2024, 17:21

The skills is there, but the players couldn’t capitalise on field today.

It’s easy blaming it all on the coach, especially because of bias viewpoints.

The other SA Franchises is not doing that much better and to single out the bulls is not based on facts, but Bias dislike….Kindergarten:)

Dec 14, 2024, 17:41

Not singling out the Bulls only - have you seen what I wrot about the Stormers and Sharks?

Dec 14, 2024, 17:50

"The Bulls with 9 Springboks in their starting XV and home ground advantage have to be the worst coached team in world rugby. " and the thread titled - " The worst coached team in the world “

If that is not going a bit overboard to single out Jake and the bulls, then I must be mistaken?!

Dec 14, 2024, 18:34

Somre of  Bulls players never played for the Springboks  coached by Erasmus.  But  of the present Bulls coming from the Springbok team was top class - especially Hanekom      I believe the main problem is that  the coachig environment under Erasmus may cause problems

Dec 14, 2024, 19:27

You think Erasmus’ coaching environment is the problem…. Seems a bit harsh.

Dec 16, 2024, 10:43

or Mozarrt

T coching envionment of erasmus is a class above anybody else in S - but the coaching on faachie level is not and  the three coaches of he Buls, Sharks and Stormers are BS supreme.    The Bulls were given endless money to spend on player recruitment and they fucked up royally.  That is why Rupert and Motepe appointed Bris to protect their rugby interests and it would become  clear that he may be disastisfied with what is happening in the case of te Bulls in particular.

In the case of the Sormers there unde judicial managment a present andrun by SARU when it comes to fundng and expenditure - functions Erasms is not involved in..    the tem th seleced was weeird and in the man they were not playing their best players on Saturday.   I fact it was a team of payes that iclded unknown player - while players like Sacha and Malnerbe was available to lay.    The tem w captined byMoerat  - one of th worst locks in S who cannot even jump i line-outs and tackled going back in tackles by baackline players.

Thi coming Sruday h Bulls is playing the Sharks in a UC match and the Stroemers are playing the Lions.   - it would eb interesting to se what ahppens in those two maches,

Wow Moz you really do not know your rugby at all

Elrigh Louw was huge - fuck me the power the lad showed was amazing - what bloody game were you watching

What the fuck did Steenkamp do wrong in that game? He has already proven himself as a Bok

Seriously what rugby are you watching

What I see is a really talented group of players with no direction in the past 2 games - wonder why that is - good old Jake has run out of ideas and more than likely pissed the players off

They look like an unhappy side playing poor rugby

Dec 16, 2024, 17:33

Dave it’s over 20 years since Jake first coached the Boks….what other coach from 2003 is still coaching at this level? If he has run out of ideas it wouldn’t be surprising…later successful coaches like Gatland and Schmidt are struggling to be effective.

But what I see is a team that is trying to play positive rugby. Some of the Bull’s handling was brilliant, some of it was probably too ambitious.

This is not a side that is putting up the shutters….it looks like the blueprint Jake followed with the Brumbies. They had two very tough matches and the flight between, I think things will improve

Dec 16, 2024, 17:58

The Bulls looked far better last season - their last two games have been really really poor

Dec 16, 2024, 18:11

Well two weeks ago this Bools team beat Connacht away by 28 points to 14….is this team so much better than the one that played for the Sharks on Saturday:

13David Kriel, -

12Harold Vorster, -
11Sebastian de Klerk, -

Yes it’s far better than the Sharks side that played on the weekend

Dec 16, 2024, 18:48

Give us your player by player analysis,

Dec 16, 2024, 18:58

Ah shit I’ve just realised that the Bulls side you have listed is not the Bulls side from the weekend

My bad

Dec 16, 2024, 20:33

No it was the Bulls side that beat Connacht….the point being despite missing some top players they were still able to win big away. There was a red card to each team….net 35 minute man advantage to the Bools, worth 5 of the 14 point differential.

Dec 16, 2024, 20:42

Then one has to ask why it has fallen so flat in the last two games when the side is better than the one that played against Connacht

Dec 16, 2024, 21:14

But Northampton played well. You all keep overlooking that fact.

Dec 16, 2024, 21:18

They played well when it counted but the Bulls looked the dominant side who had themselves to blame for all their errors

That Bulls side on a normal day would have put that Saints side to bed

I do like the way the Saints sides attacks - those backs play well together and Randall at 9 was very good

Dec 16, 2024, 21:26

Mitchell at 9, you mean.

Dec 16, 2024, 21:32

Yes Mitchell - good player

Dec 16, 2024, 21:37

Ha ha ha !

Randall plays for Bristol.

Dec 16, 2024, 21:39

Yeah I’m a bit shit with the English player names - I have no love for them just you :)

Dec 16, 2024, 21:46

You are rubbish ;)

Awwww.
