In a show of tactical consistency, All Blacks head coach Scott Robertson has mostly retained the squad that recently clinched a victory over Argentina, with Simon Parker set to debut in the upcoming rematch. Despite their previous 41-24 win, Robertson is keeping changes minimal, aiming to maintain team synergy as they progress through the Rugby Championship.

The only starting lineup adjustment sees flanker Du’Plessis Kirifi stepping aside for newcomer Simon Parker. Notably, Robertson emphasized that Kirifi's omission is not a reflection of his form.

"It was definitely not on form. He has played well and taken every opportunity he’s got – so just a little bit of a tweak to the forward pack,"

Robertson stated, affirming his confidence in Parker's readiness for international play after an impressive season with the Chiefs.

Additional changes to the bench include the return of Wallace Sititi and Tamaiti Williams from injuries, while Josh Lord steps in for the injured Patrick Tuipulotu. These strategic alterations come as the All Blacks prepare for upcoming back-to-back matches against the formidable Springboks.

The forthcoming match is also a landmark for hooker Codie Taylor, who will earn his 100th cap, becoming the second All Blacks hooker to achieve this milestone.

"Codie is a special man. He’s resilient, tough, skillful, and an athletic rugby player, but more importantly, he is a great man in our environment and a proud All Black – we’ll honour him this weekend,"

Robertson praised.

While Beauden Barrett retains his position as the starting fly-half, Damian McKenzie is expected to bring his game-changing speed off the bench. Robertson acknowledges McKenzie's potential to alter the game dynamics significantly in the later stages.

Robertson also anticipates a robust challenge from Los Pumas in the rematch, noting their capacity for strong attacks and expecting a thrilling contest. He highlighted the importance of refining their gameplay, capitalizing on strengths while remaining disciplined.

The All Blacks lineup thus remains predominantly unchanged, signaling a strategic emphasis on stability and incremental adjustments, as they aim to build on their winning momentum in the fiercely competitive Rugby Championship.
