This guy should have been right up there as a Bok legend if he could only stop breaking his leg. Now it seems few people even remember him.

He was good, similar player to Jessie Kriel

He’s suffering from a brain tumour now. Very sad.

Wishing him well! Sterkte!

Sorry to hear that. He could have been one of the greats if it wasn't for all those injuries.

I met him once. Some years ago when he was still playing, my son and I were throwing a rugby ball on the beach near Port Edward and he was jogging towards us. I recognised him and said howzit and he stopped to chat for a while and autographed the rugby ball for my son.

Wish him all the best in this new challenge.

I went  up one day to speak to him in the La Lucia shopping center and asked  him about his injury which at the ime kept him from playing and said he will be back to play within a month - but he got injured again shortly after his return.   An xtremely nice and very polite guy. and his contnuus injuries marred his top center performces.  and at the end of the eyar I spoke t him he was ut of rugby.

What a pity = he was the top cener - but may have suffered from mild brittle bone problems.

Hope he survive the brain tumor he suffers from

Two great Snymans both of whose careers were limited by injury.

Yes…a super talent, perhaps the best offloading forward in rugby.

Loved as a player at the bulls and for the boks. It was our first backline player that could meet the physicality of the Kiwi centres. Our backline players were quite small in comparison.

Slap chip actually broken his leg by falling on him while he was scrolling a try. Freak accident, but was really sad he didn’t make it. I think he went to Leeds and just end playing on the wing in England

“ first backline player that could meet the physicality of the Kiwi centres”

Pieter Muller may disagree.

Lovely to see forwards instinctively look to passing the ball instead of the usual forward grind. Ox's another notable.

Off topic, but remember this try?

That is a awesome pass from Dillian Leyds for SP Marais to score against the Chiefs.

Good old Super Rugby Days :)
