Looks like he’s suffered a fractured jaw in the match against Namibia tonight.

Ramos looked to have a knee injury as well.

Expensive night potentially for France….

Sep 21, 2023, 22:48

That’s a massive loss and almost irreplaceable players.

Sep 21, 2023, 22:52

Well, it was a risk to play so many first choices.

I don’t know how bad either of them are, but DuPont was taken straight to hospital.

Sep 21, 2023, 23:15

Crazy to start Dupont at this stage against Namibia. That’s a worse blow than losing Marx.

Sep 21, 2023, 23:45

This also changes the stakes for Ireland match, without Dupont and possibly Ramos I’d rather play France than an embarrassed AB team in the quarters.

Sep 22, 2023, 04:56

What I've been saying for a while...

Sep 22, 2023, 05:10

ABs prefer to play us rather than the Irish in the Qters ............ or so said some notable pundits in MiddleEarth.

Sep 22, 2023, 05:57

Well, give France a weapon and they'll aim it at their own feet.

Sep 22, 2023, 06:19

Damn this universe is indifferent.

Sep 22, 2023, 07:08

Man that's massive. Probably the best rugby player in the world right now.

Sep 22, 2023, 07:19

How stupid to play him against Namibia what’s the point

Sep 22, 2023, 07:23

I don't mind if he's sitting in the grandstand with Marx.

Sep 22, 2023, 07:29

Reports suggesting he won't require surgery but will be out till the semi finals if France make it that far.

Sep 22, 2023, 09:17

We can lend them one of our scrummies.

Sep 22, 2023, 09:17

Looks like the injury was worse than initially reported and he's probably out of the World Cup now.

Sep 22, 2023, 12:50

My sister’s dentist broke her jaw in April, she’s still not fit to play Rugby !! :)

Sep 22, 2023, 12:54

Johan Deysel is the person who injured him. For a moment, I thought it that person playing at a very old age- the person who inspired the Creatine Twins, but it turns out it is a different Deysel.

Sep 22, 2023, 13:10

How dumb can this Deysel be….taking out the French captain and best player at the RWC with the one infraction that’s in the spotlight. This man better not be walking up in dark alleys in Paris.

Sep 22, 2023, 16:08

Apparently Deysel has been threatened on social media

Sep 22, 2023, 16:26

Very SA sounding name that,  paper bag of money exchanged?

Sep 22, 2023, 16:27

Settle down just joking OK

Sep 22, 2023, 18:19

He might be better to pack his stuff and catch the first flight out of France.

Sep 22, 2023, 18:20

France has lost their x2 key players: Scrumhalf and flyhalf.... Not to mention some of their other best players.
Injuries may completely derail their world cup campaign, which is unfortunate. It is good seeing France playing rugby like they used to again.

Sep 22, 2023, 18:44

Certainly takes a lot away from the tournament, if they take the trophy it will be something special.

Sep 23, 2023, 05:41

Holy shit...I see it's an orbital fracture.

Nobody wants to break any bones but I'd rather break both arms and few ribs before an orbital.

Feel for the chap.

I hope they're not stupid enough to try and rush him back.

Sep 23, 2023, 11:12

Latest is that he'll be joining the team and that there's no need for a replacement

Sep 23, 2023, 17:34

Last I heard was 4 to 6 weeks so possibly back for semi final?

Sep 26, 2023, 23:08

Sep 26, 2023, 23:19

He needs the Victor Matfield mummy arm wrapping to be the real deal though!

Sep 26, 2023, 23:28

@Mozart, have you seen this?

https://www.bing.com/create

It uses Open AI to generate images

This is an example

A french rugby scrumhalf wrapped in bandages wearing a helmet. He has bolts through his neck from a recent operation

Sep 27, 2023, 01:45

I’ll give it a go….thanks for the steer

Sep 27, 2023, 01:46

Cool stuff but I can’t get it to post

Sep 27, 2023, 04:58

I read Dupont may play in a molded mask, is this what these images are about?

Sep 27, 2023, 11:07

@Moz,

If you right-click on the image (in any web browser), and select copy.
Then paste it here.

@Pakie, yes it appears he will be in a moulded mask, should have tried that with the image AI

Sep 27, 2023, 11:24

That's great Sharkbok.

This is Baboon-ou (crybaby wearing pink tights crying because of a rugby referee) . . .

Sep 27, 2023, 11:27

Changed the word "crybaby" to "baboon" . . .

Sep 27, 2023, 11:42

Here's "pompous mozart" . . .

LMAO!

Sep 27, 2023, 11:44

This barbaric act by the Namibian captain has put a damper on the RWC.  I'm sure, we all admire Antoine Dupont and were looking forward to see him at his best.

Reminds of what Stander did to Patrick Lambie and ruined his career.

Moffie, for some reason you have the word "blob" at the start of your http URL address. We can't see your image.

When using the image function, copy the address of the image you want to put up and paste it into the URL box, overwriting everything that is already there. Then just hit submit (once).

Sep 27, 2023, 18:20

Apologies, I don’t do much with photos. I went onto an image hosting site. Hopefully the real Mozart is now visible.

Sep 27, 2023, 18:25

Mozart would never have been brave enough to play Rugby :)

Sep 27, 2023, 18:51

At 5’4” perhaps a little small for today’s packs. More of an inside centre.

Sep 27, 2023, 19:18

Ha ha ha ! He’s tall enough to play on the wing for SA ;)

Sep 27, 2023, 20:56

We only pick those small wings in pairs…..Mozart and Beethoven?

Sep 27, 2023, 21:39

Very likely, Mozart :)
